"I toured Lakeland Senior Living. It was nice and clean. In the apartment, I didn't get a chance to go in and walk around or anything. Just kind of view from the door, other people were occupying them, but they seemed nice. They were small but nice. The staff was pleasant and informative. They answered all my questions."

"What I liked the most about Maple Ridge was the people. The staff was wonderful and the residents I talked to all liked it there. So, that was a good plus. It's very clean-looking, professional, and very attractive. The lady that gave me the tour was very friendly and answered all my questions. They had a gym, a library, a good clubroom, a beauty salon, and an excellent dining room. They had everything I was looking for."

"They have a great staff at Skylark Senior Living. Very compassionate and very geared to individual needs. They work hard at trying to develop a community between their clients. The rooms offer very modern conveniences, and they're well-maintained. They have a garden and a patio. They allow individuals to have their own little garden spaces. People are out there tending to their own areas. They can grow some things to eat as well as just for beauty, so there's a little garden therapy."

"I went here a couple of years ago. It's a nice facility. It's small, that's wonderful and it's located close to me. So that would be my choice. I don't want to travel far to be of assistance to my mom if that's needed. So that's kind of why I'm stuck here until I get an answer from them, then I may have to look at others. The facility was clean, and the lady that we talked to was very informative. The rooms were nice. We visited with one of the people that lived there. The facility itself is small, which might be appealing to people. She's in a retirement home with like 300 people. She'd like a little, smaller place, so it would be great for someone who likes a smaller facility."

"I just visited The Suites Assisted Living and was HIGHLY impressed! We have toured all of the assisted living buildings in Grants Pass. The Suites Assisted Living is at the top of the list! The whole idea of moving has been very difficult on my parents, but The Suites eased their mind. The building was clean and smelled great. There were residents out and about (that cannot be said anywhere else we looked), the staff were very friendly and every single one said "Hello" as we passed them in the hallways. You could hear staff engaged with the residents laughing and conversing. The price is expensive but as a buyer and businessman myself, I know you get what you pay for. They were very comparable in price when you look at the big picture. Our family is very happy with our choice! "

"Most of the staff I encountered at The Bridge Retirement and Assisted Living was very nice. The waiting area was very comfortable. They did come periodically and asked us if we needed anything. The CEO showed up and came over and talked to us and told us that she was sorry for the wait we were dealing with. Then the human resource person came and gave us a tour and was very nice and very thorough. I was just kind of reluctant because I felt like the rooms were a little small compared to what my brother was used to, but I've stuck The Bridge in the back of my mind. It may be just a temporary place for him to go. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They always have snacks available for the residents there. They're constantly doing all kinds of activities. They do arts and crafts. They have people come in, like singing groups or people that'll come in and do arts and crafts with the residents. You can walk in there at any time and just say, "Hey, I want to tour" or whatever. If somebody is available, they'll give you a tour. They've got an activity room and it's got tons and tons of movies and books, and it's kind of sectioned off but then there is the area where everybody can get together."

"Our Mom lived at Horton Plaza for many years before having a stroke and moving to a foster home. Let me tell you this, there is not a place that could love her more. Erin the leader showed my Mom so much love and humor. I came in one day while she was giving Mom a shower and they were singing songs together. The staff are equally genuine. Joking, loving, and all about making her feel like the most special person in the world. I recommend Horton's to anyone looking to place a family member."

"The rooms at Avamere at Waterford are a nice size with two closets. They have a shower in their bathroom. The people seemed to be nice. They have a swimming pool, and it looks like a nice place. It was very clean."

"With The Orchards Assisted Living, it wasn't a very pleasant visit. The second I walked in, the two people at the front desk, I told them that we were there for a tour, and they stood there fighting about who was going to take us on a tour. They were fighting like, 'I'm not doing it.' 'No, I'm not doing it.' 'I already did one today, so I'm not doing it.' It was just like they were fighting, and my mom and I were just standing there waiting for somebody to take us on a tour. It wasn't very pleasant. The facility was nice. There wasn't an issue with the facility. It was mainly just the staffing. One of the managers ended up taking us on a tour, and every time I tried to ask her a question about something that was going on or just trying to get more information about the facility, she was like, 'Oh, I don't know. You would have to talk to somebody else.' It was really bad. I also noticed like even when we were doing the tours, the lady was very interactive with the residents. We were kind of walking right past them. For amenities, they don't have a beauty salon, but they have a huge room that has everything in it. It has a bookshelf with some books on it, and it has a TV with some couches. They don't have like an individual library or anything like that. They just have a little bookshelf with some books on it. "

"My wife moved into Pacific Living Centers of Medford at Brookhurst. It has been a very positive experience, so far. It is a small population with adequate staff, but they maintain a family environment. They have been very helpful in the transition phase of moving my wife there. The food they serve is adequate and very good."

"We toured Fountain Plaza, and we chose it because of the facility itself and its pricing. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly. The food was good. The facility was very clean. It was older, but it was kept up very well. They have a patio, walking areas, exercise rooms, and a parking area."

"I loved the apartments at The Springs at Veranda Park. I also liked the courtyard and the facilities. It's very modern. The staff was very friendly and very nice. The dining area was very attractive and very nice. The food we had was very good. They had a salon, library, and exercise area."

"My sister has moved into Bartlett House of Medford. She's thrilled. She's happy. I'm quite sure just from the atmosphere it is so good, and sitting back and watching the residents and the staff. She loves coffee every morning. They bring a cup of coffee into her room first thing in the morning. I would recommend Bartlett House in just the short time I've been there over any of those other facilities that I went through and just toured. I'm thrilled to death where she is right now. It's fantastic. It's a memory locked down facility. Her overall experience was joy. After one day she was absolutely thrilled because of how well they were always trying to take care of her. "What do you need?" "Do you need this?" She told me how good the food was. She said, "I'd be fine just dying here now." Her apartment is just one room. She's got a twin bed and a lift chair in it, and a spacious bathroom, but it's just the toilet and sink. They have Jacuzzis in the unit and the showers. She has a TV in her room, and she's got a very pretty window. Right outside is a beautiful tree. We're going to put some hummingbird feeders out in that tree for her. It's just a pleasant atmosphere. It's got a carpeted floor and the closet. She's still getting used to everything, but my understanding is they have movie nights and puzzles. My sister loves word search books, and I know they have different activities daily there. They allow service dogs to come in and visit the residents. I thought that was very nice."

"The only reason this review is not a 1 star is that some of the staff at Hearthstone do really care, and do their best to take care of their patients. I'm a service connected disabled Veteran and was at this facility for over 3 weeks post reconstructive surgery. The food was poor. The building itself really needs to just be torn down. I had an ant infestation in my room, and sleep was very, very difficult to come by in a 2 person room. Again, some of the staff are there for the right reasons, others are there because... I don't know really... They had no business being there. For instance I had a CNA put a thermometer in my mouth with NO PROTECTIVE COVERING ON IT. I gagged and nearly vomited I was so disgusted. I personally would NOT RECOMMEND this facility to anyone who has other options. I would not want my grandmother to live out her time on earth in such a delapated run-down facility, with only a hand-full of real professionals there to administer quality care. "
