"I found Avamere to be awful and smelly. They have containers in the hallways that were full of dirty diapers and that’s the first thing you smell when you walk in. But when you get to the side of the rooms, that part was clean and nice. The staff was nice as well. They were very encouraging when you needed it and compassionate as well. "

"My dad moved into Avamere (Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center) in September. The rehab people are incredible. The place is OK. The food is good, and the dining area is very nice. They have several activities, like bingo and singing, but my dad hasn't participated in a lot of activities."

"The only reason this review is not a 1 star is that some of the staff at Hearthstone do really care, and do their best to take care of their patients. I'm a service connected disabled Veteran and was at this facility for over 3 weeks post reconstructive surgery. The food was poor. The building itself really needs to just be torn down. I had an ant infestation in my room, and sleep was very, very difficult to come by in a 2 person room. Again, some of the staff are there for the right reasons, others are there because... I don't know really... They had no business being there. For instance I had a CNA put a thermometer in my mouth with NO PROTECTIVE COVERING ON IT. I gagged and nearly vomited I was so disgusted. I personally would NOT RECOMMEND this facility to anyone who has other options. I would not want my grandmother to live out her time on earth in such a delapated run-down facility, with only a hand-full of real professionals there to administer quality care. "

"My husband stayed in Rogue Valley Manor for rehab. It was a very nice facility. It was homey. The staff was very caring and attentive. They offered everything. They had a social director come around and ask about his interests and kind of interview him as to what he would be interested in. They would bring ice cream carts around make sundaes and give ice cream to the residents. They did a lot when he was up there. He did quite a bit. They had a rec room where they could just go and relax, and view the scenery because it's way up on a hill and they can see out over the valley. It had puzzles out for the people. They had a little plant cart there with plants growing in it for those who wanted to do that sort of thing. The dining area was very nice and the food was very good quality."

"My wife is in Linda Vista in Ashland. They do nursing home care and rehabilitation. The staff there seems to be knowledgeable and very helpful. There are two beds there, but she's basically by herself in there. They have all the usual things like physical therapy, and occupational therapy, and a 24/7 nurse. The meals are fine, and they show up on time. I had lunch with her on Tuesday. It's nice, comfortable, it's older, but it's nicely kept."

"I've been to Laurel Hill Nursing Center and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. It was scary. I didn't tour the whole facility, but where I went seemed like bedlam. There were residents screaming and yelling, a woman told me how she was peeing in herself, and I don't see any staff on the floor. So I'm like, "I'm out of here." I would not want my loved one there."
