My dad moved into Avamere (Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center) in September. The rehab people are incredible. The place is OK. The food is good, and the dining area is very nice. They have several activities, like bingo and singing, but my dad hasn't participated in a lot of activities.

My mom was admitted in late October. This is not the prettiest facility in town, but the care she has received has been amazing. She is still currently there and should be coming home soon. All the nurses and CNA's were so nice, truly cared for her in her time of need. Her therapists have done a great job in rehabilitating her to normal life again. They actually like my mom and would pop in to chat with her on a regular basis - not just when she needed something. We got her into a single room across from the nurses station in hopes of getting a little more attention and it seems to have worked. I know my mom will really miss the staff as she has become friends with these people.

This facility was clean for the most part and the amenities were ok. Our issue was with the staff and the managment. Shortly after she arrived we notice she was in a lot of pain and when asked about her condition they would say they gave her her medication but she, being of sound mind still, informed us that she did not recive it. When we tried speaking to the managment we were given the run-around and our concerns downplayed that she just doesn't remeber. Thankfully we spoke to a male charge nurse and he said he would keep a close eye on her and for the next 2 months no issues. A few days before she passed away the same problems started and we found out the male nurse had been let go. I fully believe that she would of had more time if it wasn't for them.
