"They have a great staff at Skylark Senior Living. Very compassionate and very geared to individual needs. They work hard at trying to develop a community between their clients. The rooms offer very modern conveniences, and they're well-maintained. They have a garden and a patio. They allow individuals to have their own little garden spaces. People are out there tending to their own areas. They can grow some things to eat as well as just for beauty, so there's a little garden therapy."

"I went here a couple of years ago. It's a nice facility. It's small, that's wonderful and it's located close to me. So that would be my choice. I don't want to travel far to be of assistance to my mom if that's needed. So that's kind of why I'm stuck here until I get an answer from them, then I may have to look at others. The facility was clean, and the lady that we talked to was very informative. The rooms were nice. We visited with one of the people that lived there. The facility itself is small, which might be appealing to people. She's in a retirement home with like 300 people. She'd like a little, smaller place, so it would be great for someone who likes a smaller facility."

"It looks like a great place. We came to see the memory care. It was clean and new. The staff seemed caring and the people we met (the patients and clients) seemed happy and well-adjusted. They were eating lunch about the time we came in for a tour. We even met a hundred-year-old woman, and she was really sweet. It seemed like a very nice place. The apartments have two closets, a bathroom, and no kitchen or anything like that. It's just a big, clean, and modern room. The place looked new and clean. I didn't eat their food, but their dining area looked adequate. It was open and airy. There were many tables, and people could sit together. It looked fine. It wasn't fancy, but it met the function. The facility was good. It wasn't fancy, but it was functional."

"It was a very nice place; it was very family oriented. The rooms and apartments were very nice. They had good-sized studios and one bedrooms, and I liked it a lot. They had all kinds of activities going on, games, bingo, crafts, and exercise. They were very friendly, loving, and very caring. I felt just very comfortable. I did talk to the lady in charge of the cafeteria, and she was wonderful. She sits down with all of the new people and finds out what their likes and dislikes are and if they're talkative or not, but if they're not talkative, she doesn't sit them with somebody that talks a lot. They are just really wonderful. "

"Avamere was a beautiful place. I really, really like that place. I was going to put my mom there if she moved here. The rooms are beautiful. I loved the feel of the place. The prices didn't seem too bad, though. I'd say moderate price. I met the guy who runs the place and the girl who was showing me around. The rooms were just so spacious. I love the rooms, the storage, and the homey feeling of the rooms. Very cozy place; I felt good. They have their own indoor pool. Some of the other assisted livings around the area bring their clients to Avamere's pool, so it's open to other people, not just the people that live there. It was really nice because my mom likes to swim. They were doing Wii bowling; they were laughing, having fun and a good time. "

"Rogue Valley Manor was beautiful. You can start out as independent in a standalone home or you can be in a high-rise apartment. It’s excellent, very clean, beautiful, and very high class. The staff was very helpful, very knowledgeable, and well trained. They had gardens you could work in and several restaurants. They were playing volleyball in this beautiful swimming pool that had no smell of chlorine; it had evaporated sea salt, which was absolutely necessary. If it were in a different location, perhaps we would be serious about it, but it was just too far from where we needed to be. "

"With The Orchards Assisted Living, it wasn't a very pleasant visit. The second I walked in, the two people at the front desk, I told them that we were there for a tour, and they stood there fighting about who was going to take us on a tour. They were fighting like, 'I'm not doing it.' 'No, I'm not doing it.' 'I already did one today, so I'm not doing it.' It was just like they were fighting, and my mom and I were just standing there waiting for somebody to take us on a tour. It wasn't very pleasant. The facility was nice. There wasn't an issue with the facility. It was mainly just the staffing. One of the managers ended up taking us on a tour, and every time I tried to ask her a question about something that was going on or just trying to get more information about the facility, she was like, 'Oh, I don't know. You would have to talk to somebody else.' It was really bad. I also noticed like even when we were doing the tours, the lady was very interactive with the residents. We were kind of walking right past them. For amenities, they don't have a beauty salon, but they have a huge room that has everything in it. It has a bookshelf with some books on it, and it has a TV with some couches. They don't have like an individual library or anything like that. They just have a little bookshelf with some books on it. "

"The price at Anna Maria Creekside was beyond what my budget allows, but the place and the food were good. The staff are also nice. "

"The Springs at Veranda Park was a lot nicer than the other place we visited. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. The dining area looked great. I didn't observe any activities. They had several different places for people to go and do different things, but we were not that interested in that. It was not what we needed."

"My wife moved into Pacific Living Centers of Medford at Brookhurst. It has been a very positive experience, so far. It is a small population with adequate staff, but they maintain a family environment. They have been very helpful in the transition phase of moving my wife there. The food they serve is adequate and very good."

"Bartlett House of Medford is a small place. We heard that the staff was good. They had a good reputation from therapists who have been there themselves with clients and loved ones. They were very quick in responding to us, so we were able to get my mom in right away. The food is good, it's very high quality, and everything is fresh. It's a beautiful area, the landscaping is kept up very well, and there's a very safe, secured backyard. It's not overdone; it's simple, not overwhelming, and small. They only have fifteen-to-sixteen patients at a time there. I think they also try to get people to focus on activities there."

"My parents moved to Fountain Plaza. It was wonderful. According to my parents the food is far superior compared to the other place. They serve dinner at dinner time, a big meal, and they have superior quality food at Fountain Plaza. We've got COVID going on down here, everybody's in quarantine, you can't go anywhere, so I've not been in there, I just talk to my mom daily. They're very accommodating and they are keeping me informed via email. It's a newer building, it's better quality, and better decor. The staff seems happier. The food is better and the cost is the same."

"The Weatherly Inn assisted living community was very nice. They had excellent facilities, and it looked like they took excellent care of the people that were there. I was very satisfied with it. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. She knew exactly where everything that she needed to tell me was and what I needed to know. She answered all the questions that I needed to be answered. It was perfect, I couldn't find a better place. The dining area was nice. I'd want to live there myself. The rooms were beautiful and there was plenty of room to roam around in it. The studio apartment was nice and big. The 1-bedroom apartment was really big too. The place was very clean, nothing was out of order, and it was very nice. You can also get fed 24-7 with everything that they got. They had little snacks so if you want a snack in between their dinners, you can go get some and they'd bring it to you if you needed it or you could go get it yourself."

"I would recommend Northridge Center. I like everything about it; the rooms, food, the way they kept the rooms, the way they kept it closed, and all of this. She had nothing to do except what she wanted to do. Unfortunately, it was on the highway there, and in the later stages she is going out the door and across the street. Send anyone that wants to be in a nice quiet facility as everything you would ever want there. They could have as much oversight as they want. They had games, they went to places, they went out to the stores, church, and they have people come in for entertainment. "
