Selected by Sperling’s Best Places as one of the top cities for seniors and home to several professional sports teams and world-class museums, Cincinnati, Ohio, has a lot to offer retirees looking to settle in the area. Senior centers operated by the Cincinnati Recreational Commission offer residents 60 years and older a chance to gather with their peers for congregate meals, pickleball tournaments and the annual Southwest Ohio Senior Olympics. To help its more then 39,000 senior residents navigate efficiently, Cincy has a variety of street car, shuttle and bus routes, including Metro which offers half-price fares to riders 65 years and older.
To help seniors discover the most senior-friendly locations around the country, Caring.com conducted a new study, “The Best and Worst Places for Senior Living.” The Caring Senior Living Report analyzes and ranks 300 cities and 50 states on the quality of senior living in that area. The cities were graded using 46 metrics across five categories: Health Care, Senior Living & Housing, Affordability, Quality of life, and Transportation.
