"The atmoshpere at St. Lukes is very apeasing. When I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist who asked if I needed any assistance in finding who I was there for. The food is better than most long-term care facilities that I have visited before, and most of the residents looked happy and well takwn care of. There were not a bunch of residents just sitting in there chairs in the hallways, like I have seen at other facilities in the past. Daily activities such as art projects, piano playing and knitting are options patients have to stay entertained. I noticed many people playing cards together in the main area that residents can conviene in. The overall experience was a good one. I will return again in the fall and I hope to see things as they were last visit. "

"IT is hard to describe the quality of care that the people at this facillity give to others. The compassion and the dedication of not one but all is evident in how they care for their residents as well as the families and the other co workers there. The atmosphere is HAPPY. It is hard to find people that enjoy their jobs these days and to have a full staff that enjoy their job is exceptional. The staff interacts with all of the residents and knows each one personally and their limitations. They are also able to notice if there is any subtle change in one of the residents and get them the care that they need as soon as they can which helped to save my grandfathers life at one time. Words cannot express the gratitude that i feel towards them for taking such great care of him. It is very hard when you have to face the decision to place one that you love in a SNF however you can rest comfortably in knowing that at this facillity they are treated with dignity and respect something all of our elders deserve. "My dad will be moving into the Jo Ellen Smith Living Center. It was convenient to get to because of the location. It's near our home. They have a caring staff. The facility was very clean and organized. They have some activities to keep him engaged, and he can socialize there. The staff members were very knowledgeable, and caring, and answered all of our questions. They were engaged in the process. They have everything that my dad needs to socialize and engage with others. They have a salon and an entertainment room. They have bingo and all kinds of activities."

"Rooms are clean. Communication with staff is near impossible. Don’t even attempt to get upper management on the phone. Staff very skilled at passing the blame whenever things don’t get done, which is constantly. A lot of theft also. Laundry incompetent, lost clothes, dirty laundry piles up for days. Understaffed and likely underpaid. DO NOT put your loved ones in this place especially since Commcare took over. Daily mass is the only plus but not worth the stunning incompetence and outright negligence of this place."

"My grandmother went from the hospital to St. Margaret's at Mercy for rehabilitation. She loved it. Besides the fact that they didn't give her enough food, and it was more like hospital food, she loved being there. The staff was amazing. Whenever she needed something, they gave it to her. They took care of her. She was in there for three weeks. I would definitely recommend somebody to go there. "

"Jefferson Healthcare was very nice and had a homey atmosphere and nice people. The attitude of the people and the people who work there gave it a family-like atmosphere. "

"The reviews listed on this site are very old and are out of date. The facility is named St. Bernard Nursing and Rehab and the care is great! My aunt just completed her therapy and is back home and can't stop praising the staff there. She is very appreciative of how kind and friendly everyone is and wants to go back there to volunteer as soon as she can. The facility deserves the 5 stars from me. "

"I thought the rooms were nice and clean at Lafon Nursing Facility of the Holy Family. The dining area was nice. I did not eat there, but I saw the food and it looked fine. The staff seemed very attentive. The aides were all interacting with the people and I didn’t see anything negative there. They have a big activity rooms at different wing and they do have activities. "

"St Joseph of Harahan They have a great staff. Everyone is very caring and personable. They listen to all of our concerns and they are quick to solve any issues that may arrives. They have planned activities every day and a fantastic activities Director.The nurses the supervisor of the CNN ‘s. and the CNN’s are the best ,we are very happy we chose this facility for our loved one and would definitely recommend this facility ."

"My mom will be moving into St Anthony's Nursing Home. It was very clean. The staff was very nice, and they have a dementia care unit. They gave me a hand-out and discussed the type of rooms I would get for. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. It's not too many in a room is what I like, the most are two in a room. I was able to see the bedroom. I think there was a bed and a side table. It was clean on the outside as well as the inside. They had a nice garden area. They have nice flowers and stuff on the inside, in the hallway, and everything."

"I went to see Riverbend Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Everything was very nice, it just was a lot larger a facility and I was looking for a smaller place. Plus it cost a lot more, so that was also factored into it. It was a nursing home so it's set up completely different from the other places I toured. They had scheduled activities, which I thought was good that they offered dollars. They do bingo, and sing-alongs and they also have groups come in to entertain the guests or residents. The staff that I met there was very helpful and informative."

"My Mom started out in Skilled Nursing after falling and breaking several things. We were so satisfied with Colonial Oaks that we wanted her to become a resident. She was able to get in and after settling down, not without some anxiety she is now very content. She loves her new friends n the employees. My mom is very sweet n easy going n in return that is how she is treated. She loves playing bingo n getting her hair done every Tuesday. The highlight of her week. We visit often because my mom had 11 children n we feel she did her best with us n that’s how we should treat her. We were very scared at first, that she maybe mistreated or not taken care of like we would take care of her. My mom has a roommate n they get along fine but my mom only stays in her room to sleep. My mom is 86. It’s always clean, there’s a man always sweeping n mopping, they always answer the phone when I call n they have always addressed any issues we had. If my mom has a problem she lets them know and they take care of it. I want to thank Cindy, Clem, Don, Sasha, Renee, Ms Jenny, n Angela many others that I have left out for making my mom feel like she has a family at Colonial Oaks. "

"Metairie Healthcare is clean and organized. The admissions director's grandmother is there, and several other workers and their family members are there. Nothing's perfect, but the staff seems to be all over the wound care and skin care of the residents. "

"Mom moved to Waldon Health Care Center and our experience has been OK. The facility is good. It is a nice place and it looks like they cared about the people. They have a lot of activities, but my mom can't see and hear too well, so she only goes to activities that she can. They have bingo, exercises, and card playing."
