Having to place a love one in a facility is never an easy decision. My wife was placed at Riverbend four years ago requiring rehab status post a total knee replacement. From the admission process, patient care services, and therapy services, I could not have asked for a better facility. She received the BEST services and was able to rehab back to home. Now, fast forward to four years later we were faced with another required stay and a bit more complicated than the last stay. Riverbend has always been my #1 pick above all!! To see my wife's face light up with the comfort that the facility and staff bring to her during such hard times with her health is certainly a great relief for us both. Her words spoken are such "this is really such a beautiful place and I am glad I am able to return as they all treat me like family." The anxiety she has had about rehab this time has certainly been reduced after her extensive hospital stay knowing she would be able to return back to Riverbend to rehabilitate. From being in the bed for many weeks to today being able to sit in a wheelchair for the first time in a month has been one of the biggest milestones. Baby steps are great and we take them as they come but to hear her say "I think I am going to live now" with a huge smile across her face will never be forgotten! The comfort of knowing that she is right here with the most caring and loving group of professionals warms my heart tremendously. We are definitely RIVERBEND PROUD and we highly recommend their facility!

Having to place a family in any facility may cause mixed feelings. From our first interaction at Riverbend my family felt safe. The care that was provided for my grandmother and the care currently being provided for my aunt has been great. My aunt is non-verbal but never has a negative or unhappy appearance. She has a bond with the aids and nurses. For the past 4 years I have not seen a sleepless night wondering how they were being treated.

I went to see Riverbend Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Everything was very nice, it just was a lot larger a facility and I was looking for a smaller place. Plus it cost a lot more, so that was also factored into it. It was a nursing home so it's set up completely different from the other places I toured. They had scheduled activities, which I thought was good that they offered dollars. They do bingo, and sing-alongs and they also have groups come in to entertain the guests or residents. The staff that I met there was very helpful and informative.

I have not found a better place for my family member, however this facility needs to improve in many areas. Yes, it is extremely clean and for the most part employees are friendly, The staff seems to interact with the residences often, They call their residences by name immediately after arriving there. the food seems to be nutritious and good tasting, as most of the residents in my family member's pod, eat most if not all of their food. There are activities, however not much of a variety and not of interest to many residences. Which there was some sort of physical activities, such as chair exercises or other activities where the residences activity interact with each other. My main concerns are not having phone calls returned and daily hygienic care. Often I've called to speak to management and have to repeatedly call again and again in order to speak to whom I need to discuss an issue. Yes, only, a few times my calls were returned in a timely manner, but seldom. Once my family member missed an appointment because the facility failed to send him to the appointment. This only happened once, many other times appointment times were kept due to arrival time being before the appointment time. Lately, when visiting my family member his eyes were crusty. Often I asked the nurse to look at them. She did and often said she would put a request in for the doctor to look at it. Week after week the same thing happened along with his ears being full of wax. Each week I would clean my brother's face and ears. I wonder what happens on the days I'm not there.

Mom is at Riverbend Nursing and Rehab Center for two months now and we've been very happy with it. The facility is very clean and they have a lot of activities. The staff are awesome and I can call them at any time. They always respond and they always take care of her. They go right in her room if she is having an issue and I am very happy with it.
