"My dad is in Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and he loves it there. It's a great place. The people are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. From the physical therapy standpoint to all of his aides, the nurses, the nurse practitioners, everyone is pleasant and helpful and keeps you informed of what's going on. The place is very clean and modern and just well-maintained inside and outside. They have a beautiful patio. He loves the food. As far as what he has to eat, he's very happy with that. I really can't say anything bad. There is a beauty salon, and barber salon. There's a beautiful outdoor area for them to go in with chairs and a table. The dining room is nice and they offer music at night and in the mornings also. There's music at different times. They play bingo and other games. I've seen an area, and it's warm and you can go sit there and you feel welcome. It's an area where you can visit with your loved one and talk and watch television."

"The staff at Landmark South Nursing & Rehabilitation Center have all been very friendly and very helpful. It seems to be a beautiful facility. They restrict visitations, limit number of visitors, and require COVID screening upon entry. My mother-in-law says that they feed her well. I think the value for money is excellent."

"We choose Ascension Oaks because it is closer to family. They give good customer service. They are polite and keen to detail. The rooms are absolutely clean. They have activities. They go out shopping. They play bingo. I like the aesthetics, and the building is extremely clean. "

"The building is old but the care is 2nd to none. I spoke with the Director and he is the most caring person I have met. Activities, games, outing, they have it all. Staff is very nice and helpful. Just seems like they really care about the residents. It’s like a big family. Rooms are nice and you can’t beat the pricing. "

"Mother was in Old Jefferson. Some of the staff did not seem to overly care for the individuals, like it was just a regular job for some of them. They didn't have enough staff to respond like she wanted them to. However, it was very clean, and the food was good. They had a monthly calendar of activities, and bingo was her favorite thing to do. They had a lot of volunteers come in and play the guitar. There were always at least three things each day for them to do, and she participated in at least 50% of them. "

"The Woodleigh of Baton Rouge (formerly Regency Place) looked clean. They rebuilt it, so it's modern and clean. The folks were nice. It's a nursing home and pretty depressing looking, but other than that it seemed OK. They had the meals and transportation to the doctors. The staff that we met was very friendly and helpful and took us around without any question about it."

"My father is in a skilled nursing unit for rehab at Flannery Oaks Guest House. It looks like he'll probably be going back home after that because he's progressing pretty well. He's been there for almost three weeks. The atmosphere is very friendly. Everyone seems to be very helpful. They are attentive to the needs of the residents, as far as administration. Any questions or things that I've needed, they responded and assisted me with those things. The first thing I noticed when I went in was how fresh and clean things were. I took a tour of the facility. Everything was very nice. Overall, it's a good environment. They were primarily assisting him with day-to-day activities as far as getting dressed and bathing, but the main deal is he's receiving rehab for his broken shoulder. He's walking better. They're kind of keeping him active and making sure he's able to function properly once he leaves. I haven't tried any of the food. However, my dad says it's OK. His room is nice. It's just him in the room by himself, so that's comforting for him and even myself when I go in to visit. It's a nice-sized room and it seems a bit comfortable. They keep them active."

"My mother fell and cracked her pelvis at home. She spent two weeks in rehab because that's all Medicare would pay for . We brought her to Tangi Pines because our Dr said they were the best nursing home in the parish when it comes to preventing bed sores and they had a great rehab department. My mom got physical therapy and occupational therapy for two months. They had her walking in one week . Medicare part A covered the therapy in the nursing home . It actually covers 100 days of therapy but it only took 50 plus days. The staff was great. What I liked is she had the same caretaker each day because most employees have been there for a long time . The place is small but she got a lot of one on one care and a lot of TLC. Mom is home now and back to her old self but in a much better way. "Sherwood manor was a beautiful facility. The facilities seemed updated and modern. I believe it was built around 2000. One of the few things that stuck out in my mind was the waterfall with the fish. The residents seemed to all have private rooms. They weren't just seperated by a little curtain like some of the other homes I'd been to before.Some people had suites with dining rooms and bedrooms in the back. The staff were there to take care of the residents. Most of the staff were kind to the residents. There were a few staff members who did not act happy.My really enjoyed the food. The cooks were excellent. They even had a dietary manager. "

"My visit to The Care Center was pleasant. I visited this facility because my mother-in-law lived here before she passed on. She was no longer able to live alone in her apartment, so our family searched for an assisted living facility. Upon finding the facility we conducted a tour and decided that The Care Center would be the place where she would reside. The staff was friendly as well as personable. They learned her name very quickly to make her feel at home, as well as learning mine, my husband's, as well as my sister-in-law's name, being that we would be visiting her quite frequently. The amenities were good as well. The room itself was nicely sized since she would not be doing much moving around on her own. The facility itself was nice in that it provided exercise for her since she was unable to really move around a lot. My mother in law passed away months ago, but at least her transition was done around people who loved and cared for her the most. "

"The staff at The Guest House is very helpful and friendly. My dad is not really happy with the food there. I would give the physical therapists extra-high praise because they are all very good and very professional. They are always available when I need to talk to them about my dad’s progress. My dad has a private room, which has a half bathroom, in a hall where all of the people there need only short-time care. They have church services, bingo, and movie nights. They need to improve their food to make it nice and healthy. They are doing a lot of renovations. "

"At Jefferson Manor our loved one is well taken care of & treated with respect & care. The room & bed are always clean & comfortable. Everyone always has a smile & wave when I go to visit. There are plenty of fun activities. We are always informed of any changes medical appointments, & health updates for our loved one. Any requests we have made have been taken care of promptly. If they are aware of anything happening they call & inform us right away. We appreciate everyone that assist & care for our loved one. My opinion is that we also have to visit our loved one to help. We are a second pair of eyes in their care because we know our loved ones best."

"My father was the primary contact person with the facility. The main thing I remember was that a few times, my grandfather would have an issue or get in trouble with the staff, and my father would not be notified. There were instances where one of the staff persons said that he was making racist remarks, which we're fairly certain is not true. Over time, it became apparent that it was mostly that staff member he was having difficulty with - everyone else was respectful and helpful.Overall, I think that I would recommend the facility. I know that the job is difficult, and the facility was pretty nice overall - it had plenty of rooms for events, stuff like that. "
