"Rooms are clean. Communication with staff is near impossible. Don’t even attempt to get upper management on the phone. Staff very skilled at passing the blame whenever things don’t get done, which is constantly. A lot of theft also. Laundry incompetent, lost clothes, dirty laundry piles up for days. Understaffed and likely underpaid. DO NOT put your loved ones in this place especially since Commcare took over. Daily mass is the only plus but not worth the stunning incompetence and outright negligence of this place."

"This was by far the cleanest and friendliest nursing home I’ve ever visited!!! Every time I go to visit my grandmother, her hair is combed and her teeth are still nice. Her nails are nicely cut and polished. I love that even if her caregiver was busy with another patient, someone else answers her call. They encouraged her to exercise with the group and participate in different activities. I even saw a staff member sitting to have coffee with the residents. The staff there is so attentive and have very pleasant attitudes. I couldn’t do their job. I commend them for the great work that they do. Truly a blessing to our loved ones. I’m sure I speak for all when I say that this is the type of environment we hoped for anytime we had to put our loved ones in a nursing home. "

"I've been in a rehab program at St. Margaret’s at Mercy. The care has been good. The unit is very pleasant, decent, and clean. Somebody comes in every day and cleans up, and brings me whatever I need (like towels). The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They don't have a menu and they don't really cater to your likes or dislikes, but the food is decent. I'm pretty flexible about food, so I'm doing OK. They have puzzles here, but I don't do puzzles, and they don't have newspapers, which I think is a problem, but my son just brought me something to read. Therapy is good. It's regular everyday, Monday to Saturday, and I did treatment yesterday as well. It's usually an hour of OT and an hour of PT in the morning. They have a nice common room with a TV. They have hook-ups, so you can also put a TV in your room."

"IT is hard to describe the quality of care that the people at this facillity give to others. The compassion and the dedication of not one but all is evident in how they care for their residents as well as the families and the other co workers there. The atmosphere is HAPPY. It is hard to find people that enjoy their jobs these days and to have a full staff that enjoy their job is exceptional. The staff interacts with all of the residents and knows each one personally and their limitations. They are also able to notice if there is any subtle change in one of the residents and get them the care that they need as soon as they can which helped to save my grandfathers life at one time. Words cannot express the gratitude that i feel towards them for taking such great care of him. It is very hard when you have to face the decision to place one that you love in a SNF however you can rest comfortably in knowing that at this facillity they are treated with dignity and respect something all of our elders deserve. "The reviews listed on this site are very old and are out of date. The facility is named St. Bernard Nursing and Rehab and the care is great! My aunt just completed her therapy and is back home and can't stop praising the staff there. She is very appreciative of how kind and friendly everyone is and wants to go back there to volunteer as soon as she can. The facility deserves the 5 stars from me. "

"My mom was at Unity Nursing Home. The facility was not clean. Their first floor airconditioning unit was broken. We have to bring her fan. After I complained about the heat, she was transferred to the second floor, and it was extremely cold up there in the room that she was in. She was there for a rehab because she had a stroke, but she wasn't getting any physical therapy at all. My mom needed round-the-clock care but they didn't come in and check on her as regularly as I wanted. "

"My husband was sent there for rehabilitation for fractures of both femurs. He broke both sides. I was nervous cause so much negativity is available. I want to change that trend of thought to tell you that this is an excellent facility for rehabilitation for the elderly. They are very thorough and never give up on you even when you are not your best self on occasion. Melissa and all the therapist are awesome. He is now able to stand, we are home now and he is getting walking done. They are amazing and I am forever grateful for getting my husband back!!!!"

"Maison De'ville is a very clean facility. My grandmother enjoys staying there. There are various activities for the residents to take part in during the week. The nurses and other caregivers are extremely friendly. They are very attentive to the needs to the residents and go out of their way for the residents needs. My grandmother is a very picky eater, one of the nurses provides her with special foods. They do their best to make each resident feel special. During the holidays the home is decorated, groups come in to visit the residents, and special meals are served. Seems like every time I visit her (about once every 2 weeks) a group has come through the home or the residents have new (expensive, name brand!), clothing donated from the community. "

"I thought the rooms were nice and clean at Lafon Nursing Facility of the Holy Family. The dining area was nice. I did not eat there, but I saw the food and it looked fine. The staff seemed very attentive. The aides were all interacting with the people and I didn’t see anything negative there. They have a big activity rooms at different wing and they do have activities. "

"Twin Oaks Nursing Home is one of the finest nursing and convalescent facilities in this area. One of the first thing you will notice when you walk through their doors is how clean and fresh the place is. Though the residents share a room, the rooms are large and comfortable. Each resident has their own phone and television with DIRECTV at no extra charge. They have plenty of well thought out activities for the residents such as, a pep rally on game day for our local pro. Football team. A resident's production of "The birth of a King". Since it's so close to New Orleans,every Mardi Gras, they have a Mardi Gras Ball. They pick a king and queen and a local elementary class comes by and they have a parade. They have a well trained staff that keeps tracked of the resident's medication, their nutritional needs and their overall wellbeing. They see to their doctor's appointments and provide transportation.As you can see, Twin Oaks Nursing Home is a well organize, clean and fun place for those who are in need. I highly recommend it. "

"So pleased with the care my mother received at this facility. The people who work here really do care about the patients. Not your typical nursing home. No odors and no people hanging out in pajamas. Beautiful decor and lots of premium entertainment for the residents. Can't say enough good about this place. Didn't want my mom to ever be here, but was so relieved that she was receiving quality and loving care! "

"My dad will be moving into the Jo Ellen Smith Living Center. It was convenient to get to because of the location. It's near our home. They have a caring staff. The facility was very clean and organized. They have some activities to keep him engaged, and he can socialize there. The staff members were very knowledgeable, and caring, and answered all of our questions. They were engaged in the process. They have everything that my dad needs to socialize and engage with others. They have a salon and an entertainment room. They have bingo and all kinds of activities."
