The Best Nursing Home Communities in Jefferson Parish, LA

"My mom is in Woldenberg Village. It's very nice and the people are good. My mom says the food is good. They have bingo, church services, they do ice cream socials once a week, and they play dominos. Her room is spacious enough and it's clean. They do have a library. They've got a musician that comes in once a week or twice a week who plays the piano, and they've got a dining room, and they also do crafts. The care is excellent. They're well-maintained, everything always seems clean. The staff has been very nice."

"My mom was at Unity Nursing Home. The facility was not clean. Their first floor airconditioning unit was broken. We have to bring her fan. After I complained about the heat, she was transferred to the second floor, and it was extremely cold up there in the room that she was in. She was there for a rehab because she had a stroke, but she wasn't getting any physical therapy at all. My mom needed round-the-clock care but they didn't come in and check on her as regularly as I wanted. "

"The atmoshpere at St. Lukes is very apeasing. When I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist who asked if I needed any assistance in finding who I was there for. The food is better than most long-term care facilities that I have visited before, and most of the residents looked happy and well takwn care of. There were not a bunch of residents just sitting in there chairs in the hallways, like I have seen at other facilities in the past. Daily activities such as art projects, piano playing and knitting are options patients have to stay entertained. I noticed many people playing cards together in the main area that residents can conviene in. The overall experience was a good one. I will return again in the fall and I hope to see things as they were last visit. "

"My dad will be moving into the Jo Ellen Smith Living Center. It was convenient to get to because of the location. It's near our home. They have a caring staff. The facility was very clean and organized. They have some activities to keep him engaged, and he can socialize there. The staff members were very knowledgeable, and caring, and answered all of our questions. They were engaged in the process. They have everything that my dad needs to socialize and engage with others. They have a salon and an entertainment room. They have bingo and all kinds of activities."

"St Joseph of Harahan They have a great staff. Everyone is very caring and personable. They listen to all of our concerns and they are quick to solve any issues that may arrives. They have planned activities every day and a fantastic activities Director.The nurses the supervisor of the CNN ‘s. and the CNN’s are the best ,we are very happy we chose this facility for our loved one and would definitely recommend this facility ."

"Rooms are clean. Communication with staff is near impossible. Don’t even attempt to get upper management on the phone. Staff very skilled at passing the blame whenever things don’t get done, which is constantly. A lot of theft also. Laundry incompetent, lost clothes, dirty laundry piles up for days. Understaffed and likely underpaid. DO NOT put your loved ones in this place especially since Commcare took over. Daily mass is the only plus but not worth the stunning incompetence and outright negligence of this place."

"The staff at Jefferson Healthcare is very attentive. I'm very pleased with my dad's doctor. I have nothing but good comments to make about this place. I would rate the staff and the CNAs a 5. Most nursing homes are really small and I would prefer the room to be larger, but I cannot afford it. I only visited for a short time, but I am very pleased with the staff. "

"I had two family members at ST Margaret’s for rehab with in weeks of each other. Both got excellent care. The rooms were private and clean and all rehab rooms have been upgraded with television and cable. I toured other nursing homes and this one was by far the most home like. The staff were very accommodating and lovely. "

"This is an excellent facility where you are immediately welcomed and treated like family. The open door policy is great and the friendliness of everyone is remarkable. They also take pride in not only themselves but the cleanliness of the facility is amazing. I encourage anyone who has to make the tough decision of placing their loved on in a Nursing Home to consider placement at St. Anthony's Healthcare and Rehab whether it's a short stay or if they need long term care. The staff is very caring and listens to the residents needs and provides the best care. The facility is always open and always have activities for the residents whether they take them on the short trip outdoors in the facility or if they go off campus the residents are always busy bees. The Administrator DOES NOT take a back seat in his facility he is very involved with all residents and knows them by name. You will see him talking, interacting, and helping the residents out with all their needs. How many facility can you say actually do this? Again, making the tough decision of putting your loved one in a Nursing Home is can be frightening but I assure everyone at St. Anthony cares for all their residents and you can be sure St. Anthony's will put your mind at ease and you'll never have to worry about your family because once they are at St. Anthony's they are a part of our family too. "

"The reviews listed on this site are very old and are out of date. The facility is named St. Bernard Nursing and Rehab and the care is great! My aunt just completed her therapy and is back home and can't stop praising the staff there. She is very appreciative of how kind and friendly everyone is and wants to go back there to volunteer as soon as she can. The facility deserves the 5 stars from me. "

"My Aunt was in this facility for some years. The staff was really attentive to her and all of the residents. She was always dressed nicely with her jewelry, just as she did before she got sick. She loved the food! The staff communicated well with my family. Anytime anything went wrong or well with her, they called. If we had a concern or problem, the staff was quick to address it. Of course at certain times you go into a nursing home, there may be a smell. However, the facility is kept very clean. The staff is friendly and the residents look happy. The private rooms are really nice and spacious, especially the new skilled rehab unit. And therapy! They are great as well. I must say, this place is nothing like people say it used to be. I definitely recommend this facility if you are looking for a small, intimate, family oriented facility. Everyone seem like a big happy family here. "

"Colonial Oaks Living Center is fair. Sometimes, there's paper and stuff on the floor, and they're understaffed. My mother cannot do things for herself and we're waiting right now. Sometimes you have to wait 45 minutes to get some help to get her changed. They need to have more assistants. The food is pretty good, and she enjoys it. The dining area is OK. They have Bingo and listen to music and she enjoys that. She had to go to the hospital and Colonial Oaks is right behind it, so it's very close, and that is a big decision factor."

"My mom was a resident of Waldon Heatlh Care two years ago. My mom loved the food and activities. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. My sisters and I saw my mom every day and was very pleased with the care that she received. My mom had dementia and didn't always remember that I had visited her. Nursing staff was very good with communicating to me about my mom's care. My sister's and I were very pleased with the care and staff at Waldon Health Care. I would have no problem putting a family member here."

"My grandmother is at Metairie for rehab and she will be staying long term! She loves the activities and the staff. The young ladies that care for her are nice and make her feel special."
