At The Terrace at Courtenay Springs, we have an onsite Medical Director who coordinates and improves medical services, and a Director of Nursing who oversees all aspects of healthcare within the community. Our community also creates a model environment for nurse training, and we have in-house, ongoing continued learning courses and CNA training programs. Our staff works with residents to take control of their diabetes. They help monitor blood glucose levels, administer and track insulin, make exercise plans, plan menus, and provide education. Our hope is that our residents will leave us with better control over their diabetes care. Our registered dietician designs our dietary program with the residents in mind. We follow physician orders to meet the needs of each resident while making sure the meals are enjoyable and full of flavor. "My husband moved into Legacy Pointe at UCF. It's quite new and beautiful. There's one CNA for eight residents. There's a TV in the room. The meals are wonderful. The kitchen staff are wonderful. I have nothing but good things to say about it. The staff members are very attentive, caring, and respectful of the residents. My husband is a difficult client, and there's another lady there who's a difficult client, but they kind of go with the flow, so to speak. The nice thing about it is that it's not like a regular nursing home setting. It looks more like a hotel. The dining room is set up with glassware and flowers. It's very nice. There's a kitchen area and a living room area, so it's more like people would feel like they're at home. The food is excellent. They have the residents engaged in bingo. They have entertainers come in. They're not cheap. They are not Medicaid certified."

"My husband has been in the Life Care Center of Orlando, and so far we have been very pleased. The people working there respond quickly, and they answer all my questions. They were supportive when we made the change, and they have done everything right. They have taken care of him and have gone out of their way to make sure he is comfortable and that gets the care that he needs. Right now, they have gotten him on a special diet, so his food is kind of mushy. I understand that when he gets regular food he loves it, but the mushy food he is not so thrilled about. My husband got another person with him in his room, but he has plenty of room. It's also the cleanest place I've been in since we started looking at places. I like that the halls are very wide and that there is room for more than one person to pass through, so it's great. They have just re-opened from being quarantined. The staff has been very forthcoming. They answer my questions, they call me, and they give me updates. When my husband had a concern, he talked to the nurse. They have been great. I've gotten all the answers I've been looking for when I talk to them. The reason he moved there was because he needed more care than he could get in assisted living, and they have given him that care. Right now, he is in his first 100 days of Medicare, and we are in the process of applying for Medicaid."

"I'm at the Lutheran Haven assisted living right now. I like it very much here because everybody is so friendly and the staff is wonderful. They have three different sizes of rooms: a large room that will accommodate two people, the middle size, and the smaller rooms that are large enough to be comfortable. They clean the rooms every morning. The grounds are very well taken care of all the time. They can improve on the dining or the kitchen because they have to accommodate both the people at the hospital side and the assisted living, but they take care of that pretty well. The facility is very well maintained."

"My brother is in Viera Health and Rehabilitation. He's only been here a week, and so far, so good. The people are very nice. They come to your room right away if you need them. They have recreation every day for the residents. They have a dining room that if they want to go there, they're welcome to go or they can eat in their rooms. They bring them food in their room. It's not overloaded with a lot of people. They don't have a lot of rooms, so it's not confusing to my brother because there's not a lot of people in the hallways. I don't know how many bedrooms there are, but it's very peaceful. He's in a two-person room. There's a curtain that divides it, and they each have their own TV and they have a shelf over the TV for pictures and a dresser. It's an older building, but they keep it up. It's very clean. They play games and music. They have coffee, drinks and snacks."

"I toured Autumn House. The best thing for them is that it looks like they can handle everyone there. The least thing I like about them is that they're expensive. They're very clean, though. And their apartments are adequate. The staff was excellent, too. They had a nice courtyard. They had nice handrails down the hallways to keep balance on."

"The rooms at this facility are outstanding, clean, modern and roomy. We saw many different activities provided for the residents; a very nice outdoor sitting area/ garden; etc.; the photos online speak for themselves. Admin Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My Aunt had a very complicated condition, in addition to being paralyzed. The Doctor's, Nurses and CNA's were compassionate, attentive and very knowledgeable with the medical care she required. In general, we thank God for allowing my Aunt the opportunity to receive the care she needed here and we highly recommend this facility."

"Palm Garden of Orlando is excellent. What stood out to me was that most of the rooms are single rooms, they're huge, and they're made for a single person. I was in rehab there and it was absolutely excellent. It was a beautiful and very large community, and the people there are very good and very nice. The staff was very professional and they're nice people. The food was pretty good. They also have a hair salo, but it was too expensive, and they don't have a pool. They did have a library, a chapel, and a formal dining room."

"Returning to Tuskawilla for the fourth time was a joy! Its clean, smells good. The facility is COVID free. I found the staff still compassionate and caring. Activities that resident prefers and enjoy are usually fun. Tuskawilla resembles a hotel destined for recovery of the body and spirit. The Therapy department staff works hard to get everyone going, Dietary staff prepares food that is edible and if you don't like it you can get an alternate. I especially liked that fact that a staff visits you everyday just to find out if your were ok. Tuskawilla has been standing for over 20 years. I know I was daughter of one of the first residents there. It has evolved and always manage to come through the changing external environment. COVID-19 has placed restriction on the nation and Tuskawilla is not excluded by any means, however families are not forgotten and the facility has other means for resident to communicate with their families. The facility has followed the guidelines to ensure that COVID does not enter the building. Their infection control practice is impeccable. Tuskawilla practices transparency and communicate with families when there is a sliver of a chance of difference in process that may affect the residents. Today its still stands strong with the unsung heroes that work there. I was able to leave knowing that I would be ok with all the resource put in place after my discharge to keep me well. "

"I have been a resident for about 3 weeks now following a 3 week stay in the hospital. I am amazed at the attitude and compassion of the staff. They seem well trained and capable. Most importantly, they treat residents with respect. I like most of the food, and there is plenty of it. It is clean and bug-free. "

"I was at Ocean View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center a couple of years ago. It's a rehabilitation center, and it's a "five" rating all the way around. They did a lot of good help. I was very sick when I got there, and when I left, I was very well. They had a therapy room and treatment centers. The gym that was helping me get well was very big and very nice. The staff was pretty well trained to get things done and to help anybody with what they have. It was a really nice place, and it's right across the street from the ocean. I would go back there if I wanted. They asked me if I wanted to come back, but I had already been placed in another facility. The food was well prepared and scheduled, and the quality was good. I got my money's worth for being there. I was satisfied with it."
