"My mother has been in Orchid Cove at Rockledge. The facility is very nice, very clean. The nursing staff members that I've been in contact with are very nice and respectful. If they have any issues there, they let us know as soon as possible. They call me about everything that they do to my mom, because I have the power of attorney for her. So, when she needed something they'd call me. She needed her flu shot, they called me and I responded. They're very up on her health and her well-being. So, I'm very pleased with them. They could improve on the staff. Not the nurses, the people that take care of the patrons' clothes, because there was an event where my mom's clothes just totally disappeared. I think they do clothes for the general population, and that should not happen. They should be treated as individuals. So I had my sisters take my mom a basket, put it in her room, and they noted and updated the people there not to put her clothes in the basket, and they do not touch them, because everything of hers got misplaced. I think eventually they found them all and put them back in her drawers and in her closet, but that was kind of a shock. Other than that, I have no issues."

"Legacy Pointe at UCF was an affiliation with the University of Central Florida. So, you were offered the opportunity to attend a lot of the functions at UCF, as well as their sporting events. For a person who wanted to gravitate toward continuing education or getting involved with the university system, it's great exposure. It's a completely new facility. It just opened to its first occupants in March of this year. If you moved in now, you'd be in the midst of building, as they're still finishing off some of the constructions. With the physical plan they have and the money they're pouring into it, you can see what they're doing. It's beautiful. The people we met were really professional and very nice. The villas looked very, very, very handsome. It's selling very well, as they didn't have many units available. The food was excellent, too."

"My mother was at Life Care Center for probably two months before she passed away. We really appreciate the facility. They took good care mom. The therapist were wonderful and so as the nurses. My mom was very pleased with them. Their rooms are nice and clean. They were well appointed. I think she is happy as she can be even if she's not at home. "

"We got a discount at Lutheran Haven because my mother is a Lutheran. It’s only like a mile from me. Our visit was wonderful. My sister and I liked it. Their dining rooms are super nice. There are 6 people to a table, tables for 4, and tables for 2. There is also a long bar that really feels like you’re at a bar. There’s just no liquor. They do have wine, I think. My sister and I liked the food a lot. They had pork chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans almondine, a salad, biscuits, and corn bread. Her care is really good. My sister and I checked up on her. We even sent strangers there to check. It’s a Christian place. She doesn’t have to leave there to go to church. She goes to bingo. It’s perfect. "

"I came here 4 1/2 months ago after hip replacement. I had been in 2 other places. Viera Del Mar is hands down on of the best places to be. Because of their therapy department. I am going home. Upon arriving I had about a 98% chance of walking. My physical therapist Eric and my occupational therapist Kirk never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. This whole team of therapists in this facility chip in and help when needed whether you are their patient or not. The facility has a therapy department to be proud of. Nurses like Donna, Morgan and T are great. The CNA,s treat you like you are family. Rachel, Shetoria, Sherry, Deana and Joanna just to name a few. So does Damien the trasporter. Take a chance with this facility. You won't be sorry. P.S. Pam is a sweetheart also"

"My mom is at Palm Garden Orlando. The lady in the administration was so people-oriented and kind. She was superb and helped my mom. There were two CNAs there that really put my head at ease. They have a hair salon. They try to get the patients up and go to dinner or lunch. When the patients don't want to go to the gym to do rehab, they actually come to the patient's room and do rehab, so I kind of like that too. Some of the CNAs can be a little more attentive. I believe if you're working in a facility with patients, you need to be more attentive. The facility is very clean. They have doctors come in once a month. The doctor my mom saw is very nice and communicates very well. They have physicians that come around in different specialties that you may need. Some food is hit or miss. Most days it's OK. It might be maybe three out of seven days that it's like something that my mom wouldn't eat. One day I came in and they were doing karaoke and stuff like that. They have someone come around sometimes and try to do their nails. They have different activities."

"Can’t say enough good about the hard working and friendly staff at Tuskawilla. The rehab staff really knew their stuff. That was the main reason I chose Tuskawilla for my rehab stay. They really knew how to motivate me and get me better. Thanks for everything!"

"We had my mother at East Orlando Health and Rehab. It's a skilled nursing facility. The staff is wonderful and she gets the attention that she needs. They are very, very compassionate. The facility is very clean and they are in the process of renovating the place. They have nice grounds and when the residents want to go out, they have a nice place to sit. They have physical and occupational therapy. They have all kinds of activities. They have social services. They have podiatrists and doctors there. My mother complains about the food, but I know its institutional food. Overall, we have no complaints. "

"After working nonstop all my life, I had a stroke and had to go to a rehab center. I had to choose a facility based on my insurance. I chose Rio Pinar because I live nearby. I received excellent care while there. My Therapist evaluated me shortly after my admission and assigned me a score. I could barely do anything for myself. The Therapist also gave me a score that I would have to reach before I could go home. I was very determined to regain my independence. The Staff was very friendly and encouraged me everyday. I was able to go to therapy when I chose to go and even was allowed to go in the gym extra as I chose. My Wife and daughters were also encouraging me everyday and they would eat dinner there with me almost every day or so. I found everyone there to be very accomodating. With a combination of my shear will and the expertise of my Therapist and Nurses, I achieved my score and was able to go back home and live independently. I am so grateful that the Doctors, Therapist and Nurses at Rio Pinar were there when I needed them. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs rehab like I did. "

"Oceanview nursing home in Fla where I placed my mom last Dec. has been a blessing to me. my mom has full time skilled nursing care and a staff that is right on top of any issues that come up. They have regulat Dr. visits and open to visitors at any time. If needed the patients have access to physical and occupational therapy "

"This facility is an upscale assisted-living home full of contemporary conveniences. It looks very similar to a shopping mall, complete with a cascading water fountain and indoor cafe. The dining area includes table cloths and chandeliers while the living quarters boast two-bedroom suites. I am not sure how much money it costs to live here, but it is definitely a far cry from what this writer envisions when one says "nursing home". It appears that the goal here is to make sure that the residents have opportunities to continue to live rather than a place to come to die (which is what many homes seem to project). The residents were all very well dressed when I visited (no hospital gowns) and it did NOT have a bad odor (which nursing homes are notorious for their stink). This seemed more like a luxury hotel/mall combination and it was a pleasure to visit. I wish all homes could be of such quality and a pleasure to visit. "

"We visited Winter Park Care & Rehabilitation Center because my sister came across it through the Internet. It was an old place and the rooms were old yet it was very clean and well-kept. The staff were very amenable. There was even a minister as member of the staff. The facility seemed to offer what the residents needed. We talked to some of the residents and they were happy with the place. I would suggest they try to modernize the place a little bit. "
