"Form the first time I saw this nursing home I knew it would be a great place for my grandmother who was diagnosed with alzheimer's.The staff was very friendly upon my arrival and treated me and my grandmother with great respect.The staff was very nice and kind as they gave us a tour around the nursing home and answered any questions we had.They serve meals 3 times a day and have game night and indoor and outdoor activities.The patients there get t.v. time and get to interact with each other.Since my grandmother loved the tour and how clean the place was she decided this was the place for her and she has been there 2 and a half years and has not had one single problem with the nursing home or the staff there.I visit her everyday and we talk about a lot of stuff including the staff and nursing home and how she loves it there.She says their meals are great and they have a a great outdoors and would love to continue staying there.This is a nursing home that if I have a problem when I'm older I would love to be put here. "

"My grandmother was placed in Ardmore On Main by recommendation of her doctor after being placed on oxygen. At 67 years old, her health was poor and doctor recommended constant supervision. At first, we despised the thought of placing her there, having heard stories about bad care in nursing homes. I was really surprised by the caring and devoted staff on hand at this facility. During our visits, she spoke highly of the nurses and staff that looked after her. She pointed out how helpful they were and how they listened to her stories. And she had a lot of stories to tell! One staff member in particular she looked extremely forward to seeing everyday because she was just so friendly. The facility itself was kept clean. I never once noticed the trash needing to be emptied or trash on the floor. I was a bit worried because they really don't have that many amenities, but my grandmother wasn't bothered by it. She was allowed to move around and visit other occupants so that she was never alone, which she hated being. All in all, I would highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for a nursing home in this area. The doctor made a great recommendation and I hope I can do the same for other people without a referral from a physician. It does like with activities for the residents to do, but it makes up for that with a kind and gentle staff. "

"I found this facility lacking in medical attention given my mother. I found that the physician only came around once per week and was never available for the family to consult with. I found that, although my mom was one week from death and coughing continually from kidney failure, the staff made no effort to see that she got the proper medical care. I had to make the call which was too late. I was depending on the nurses to know what her problem was and get her treatment. They said no, I was the one who determines if she needs hospital care. What are the trained nurses role here? "

"Millennium Nursing & Rehab Center was where I wanted my wife, but Medicaid won't pay for it. My wife would have a private room, so she won't have to share with anyone else. They had an activities room. I only talked to one person there, and he seemed to be a pretty nice guy. The place was very clean and maintained. It was a nice, new building."

"My mother-in-law was in Brookshire Healthcare Center in Huntsville. She had dementia, and it was a very sad situation, but I thought they did well. I did not see her that often, but based on my personal experience with them, they seemed fine. Because she had dementia and really didn't communicate that much, there were times when the food in her refrigerator got spoiled and things like that. I think she just didn't communicate well, but all in all, I thought it was OK. I did not visit her as much, but I thought it was fairly clean. Of course, with so many of the residents being incontinent, sometimes there was a smell. It was not bad, but I understand with so many residents being incontinent, it might be impossible to prevent the smell all the time. They tried to have activities like religious services. She really couldn't attend or do much of that toward the end, but they tried to provide activities and services. Her room was a semi-private, but there were times when there was no one else in the room. The financial person there worked with the family, and she seemed compassionate. The finances can be stressful, and she worked with the family on that; it was very helpful."

"I live at Regency Retirement Village. It is a very good place to live. They have activities for anybody who wants to take part. If you don't want to take part, you don't have to. They serve three meals a day. I like the people. The staff is excellent. I have studio apartment with a regular kitchen. I will recommend them to others. "

"My dad spent three weeks at Regency Health Care And Rehabilitation Center. It was a good place for him. We had a good experience. He had good care there. He fell out of bed the first night. Not really their fault, but they made changes to help him with that. They lowered the bed and put pads on the sides, the floors, and stuff like that. And it was a good place for him to kind of get his bearings again and to recover. Their therapy was good. I don't have any complaints about it. My dad was in a private room. They had an activity room, but there was not an activity director nor any kind of grouping to do anything with them. It was more like recovering from being in the hospital. The activity room had a table and a TV and that was it. They would roll people in there who they were afraid were fall risk, but they didn't do anything with them. They just rolled them in there, turned the TV on, and sat there, so that wasn't great."

"The staff at this facility were, for the most part, hard working and friendly; however, we did experience a couple of employees that would mistreat our family member and we reported them immediately. The facility was in an older building and while there was room for improvement, there were new renovations going on to keep the rooms and equipment up to date. All in all, I would have to say that our experience here was enjoyable. There are pros and cons to all long term care facilities. "

"I've visited this establishment many times in the past year to care for a fellow church member who is a resident there. There is nothing fancy about the facility, but it is certainly clean and comfortable. There are both private and semi-private rooms. The resident I visit has changed rooms, so I am very familiar with both types of rooms. All the equipment and furnishings are up to date. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I have observed that the residents appear to be well cared for, which often says a lot about the quality of a nursing home. As a former Home Economics teacher and meal planner for large establishments, I pay special attention to food quality. The food always smells and looks great, which is a big compliment coming from me! They have a small dining area and a quaint recreation room with TV. Since the resident I visit is bedridden, I am not familiar with all of the amenities, but I know they do have regular events in the rec room as well as an outdoors area. As I said previously, the nursing home itself is nothing flashy, but it is certainly clean and evident that the residents are not neglected. "

"My experience at Huntsville Health & Rehab was good. The CNA's were nice (with a few exceptions), the nurses were knowledgeable and helpful, the head nurse checked on my mom each morning and was very helpful when my mother became ill. The food was great, the surroundings were nice with soothing court yards. I would recommend this facility to anyone. "

"My experience was excellent. The staff was caring and kind to my mother. She had a lot going on with her health at the time but I couldn't have asked for any better care. The nurses and aides showed tremendous compassion and were so professional. I would highly recommend Whitesburg Gardens. There was always a RN on duty that answered all my questions. The Nurse Practitioner was there all week and Dr Johnson was there when we needed him. It was clean and always smelled good. The food was good too. If mom didn't like what they served she was offered a substitute and that made her happy. There was comfort in knowing she had a phone at her bedside to call me if she had concerns. No words can express how grateful we were for the therapy she received. Thank you Whitesburg Gardens. We appreciate all of you for taking such good care of our mom."

"My wife was at Willowbrooke Court at Magnolia Trace for rehab. It was a nice place, and they gave her excellent care. They were well-equipped. My wife had a private room with two beds in it, a private bath, and it was adequate. She had good food, and she was very pleased with their care. Her therapy went well. The staff was very caring and very responsive. They allowed her to participate in some games and she also had some entertainment at times. They had a central location for television where they showed some special programs."
