My dad has been at Athens Health and Rehabilitation for over a month now. He's a handful and is declining right now but they're doing a really good job taking care of him. They've all been wonderful to me and my dad. They've done everything they can to take care of him. His room is clean. I have nothing bad to say about that. They have a calendar of activities to do there but my dad has not participated in them. I appreciate what they do for him. I couldn't do their job, and my hats off to anybody that does what they do.

First let me say, I never write negative reviews. We are currently at this location with my father who has advanced stage COPD. He had been here for not even 3 full days and he is ready to leave. He was on a bi pap last night, came in this morning and no one knows where it is. The first shift Nursing staff is….. nothing like I have ever seen. The only comfort he has gotten is from the ladies at night, I hope they pay them well because they are the only thing this place has going on for them. I don’t know if the hospital failed him by allowing an early discharge but if you have a choice, take them elsewhere. I am heartbroken in the lack of actual care outside of the rehabilitation services that we never made it to. I was skeptical when I read the reviews and thought that it really couldn’t be that bad there. The hospital had them ranked at 4.5/5 stars. This is not even close. I hope the ladies on 2nd shift get out of there and find a better pace to land. They kept my spirits up and made me a little hopeful. Everyone else there can kick rocks.

My mother stayed at Athens Health and Rehabilitation. They were very kind and very attentive. My mother arrived with them not having received the information that they needed about her health, so they had to backpedal immediately. She was not mobile when she arrived and they were told she was completely mobile and they did not have all her healthcare paperwork. They persevered through and cared for her and talked with my sister and me to help to ask questions and just doing everything that they could to help us and take care of my mom. It was very clean, but it's an old facility. It wasn't dirty in any way. They did their best with what they had. My mom was only there for two weeks before she passed away, and we were in and out at least every other day at different times. The different times that the staff was there, they were wonderful at all times. They're not perfect. They were caring for all the other residents that were there, but they were phenomenal. I was there to feed her twice and it was not bad in any way. My mom was so sick when she got there and hospice was involved right away.
