I moved my mom to Regency Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She loves it, and we love it. The staff is good. They're a step ahead of me, and before I ask it's done. The food is good and the room is big. She has her full bath.

DO NOT PUT A LOVED ONE HERE! Not sure where to even begin with how bad this facility is. First of all, multiple calls to nurses and staff were never returned. I put in 2 formal requests for a haircut, which was never done during the six weeks my parent was there. Upon the day of discharge, I discovered that 75% of my parents belongings, including pants, shirts, shoes, and dentures were missing. I was asked to go to a laundry room to sort through a huge pile of clothing piled up on shelves all the way from the floor to the ceiling. These were all thrown together. They were not folded or labeled. I was asked to go through this pile of clothes to see if I recognized anything belonging to my parent. I have never seen such a horrible mess. I also realized the day of discharge the clothes that my parent was wearing did not belong to him. As those things were bad enough, we were made aware a month into his stay that a catheter was placed upon arrival and per doctors orders, should never have been there. This has caused permanent damage as now my parent can no longer urinate on his own and will be forced to have a catheter for the rest of his life. I would NOT recommend placing anyone here for any amount of time

My mother stayed at Regency Health Care And Rehabilitation Center for 15 days. The security sign-in is the thing that I like the best. It was a computerized sign-in. However, at some points, they were rude. My mother has dementia. She was a fall risk, and she did want to walk a lot. They told me to bring her a walker, so I brought her a walker, and they still would not let her get up. They made her stay confined to the wheelchair, which she hated. Also, I got calls around the clock because she is a dementia patient and she has sundowners. So that means that she wants to be up and about at night when most people are sleeping, and they would call me and say, "You need to hire a sitter to come in and sit with her during the night because we can't do it." When I asked why they could not do it, they were like, "We're not staffed with someone to do that." At the hospital, they didn't necessarily restrain but they had a chair that they could put a desktop on her, and she couldn't get out of the chair. Instead of them saying, when they got her file, we can't accommodate her, they took her in, and then it became a whole issue, the three weeks she was up there. The food had a very pretty presentation. Most things were flavorful, some things were not, but I guess that's just due to you can't put a bunch of seasoning on it. It was very clean and structured pretty well. They put the television on a specific channel so everybody could come in and watch a movie. They did coloring. Those who could go outside and walk, they took them outside and walked. They had bingo and read books. The majority of the staff were unconcerned and uncaring about my mother's situation. I understood that they had other patients, but that is my mother, and I'm concerned about what's going on with her. If I tell you that there's a concern, you should probably be concerned as well. I wasn't pleased with the care that she received there. They have some nurses or CNAs who are good at their job, but it's very few. They have more who are not concerned and are just kind of there for their paychecks.

My dad spent three weeks at Regency Health Care And Rehabilitation Center. It was a good place for him. We had a good experience. He had good care there. He fell out of bed the first night. Not really their fault, but they made changes to help him with that. They lowered the bed and put pads on the sides, the floors, and stuff like that. And it was a good place for him to kind of get his bearings again and to recover. Their therapy was good. I don't have any complaints about it. My dad was in a private room. They had an activity room, but there was not an activity director nor any kind of grouping to do anything with them. It was more like recovering from being in the hospital. The activity room had a table and a TV and that was it. They would roll people in there who they were afraid were fall risk, but they didn't do anything with them. They just rolled them in there, turned the TV on, and sat there, so that wasn't great.

Mom was at the Regency Healthcare and Rehab Center for 3 weeks. The people who worked there were great, but the nursing care wasn't so good. It was a continuing care facility and they were very nice to work with. The therapists were very nice to work with and I would rate them at 4 stars, but I did not feel that mom got the attention that she needed from the nursing care, so I'm rating the nursing staff at 2 stars. Mom's private room had a private shower, and it had everything she needed in a room.
