"City Center Village has been wonderful. The place is very well-kept. It's beautiful. The courtyards are beautiful. They have a swimming pool. Everybody there has just been kind to my dad. They have gone above and beyond to help him get in there and get him situated. My dad also says the food is good."

"Brookdale Cedar Springs has independent living, assisted living, and hospice care, and you don't have to move out of your apartment. It's wonderful. You get two meals a day, there are rides to take you places, and if I have to go to the doctor I just need to tell them beforehand. The people are very kind and nice, and they clean once a week. I just tell them my problem and they come over and take care of it. They're very proficient. They have a button that I'm supposed to hit every day to tell them I'm alive. They're very sweet and everybody's very helpful. I'm in a separate housing area that's separate from the apartments. I have a backyard with trees, two bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. I have a cat and they don't have a problem with animals. I really like it here. The food is very nice and they come to the table like waiters. They have different choices or you can get a sandwich. They have a ton of activities. It costs a lot more than where I was, but you get the meals, coordinated activities, maid service once a week, and if I get sick they will bring the meal to me. It feels like home and like everything I wanted."

"I liked Gateway Place because it was brand new and it included all the utilities. The staff had been very nice when she showed me around. I thought I would like the place once I moved in. "

"Fleming Farms Senior Living was nice. However, when I came into the lobby, it didn't look like they had swept it too well (even though it's a fairly new development). They showed me their activity room and exercise room, and all of that was good. They had a swimming pool. It seemed very nice, but I didn't like the entry. I think they could make the entryway a little cleaner because they're trying to make an impression. I had to sit and wait a few minutes before they came out for me. The apartments were smaller, and I didn't like that as well."

"My mother is in an independent living community called The Commons. We chose this because Mother didn't need a lot of care but it did have good security. It is new and clean and it's close to where I live. I like all the stuff about this facility. It's beautiful. My mother feels safe and it's convenient for me to get to her if I needed to. The staff is very nice. She is in a small apartment that's clean and spacious. It has a lot of closet space. She also has one and a half bathroom there. I would recommend this facility to others. "

"Magnolia Trace was a very nice facility. After I realized what was entailed in regards to the cost of it, I was really turned off quickly. I wasn't expecting that. If I had the money to do that, I would. I do not have that kind of money. It was lovely. The rooms had more space than others I looked at. I liked the layout of them. Out of all of the ones I visited, Magnolia Trace was the nicest one. I didn't see that many people. Some of them were coming out of their apartments. Some went to different places. Some people might have gone to lunch. There were some dropping their garbage off and putting it in the container. Other than that, I didn't see any of them in their areas playing cards or that type of thing. I saw everything that would be of interest for me. As far as seeing anybody in there and doing things, I didn't see that many at all. I saw the exercise room and the activities room. They had a designated area for happy hour. The lady I talked to was very nice."

"Dad is in the Presbyterian Apartments in completely independent living. He has made quite a few friends, and his health has improved immensely. He wants to live there as long as he can. They have a Bible study every day at 4:00 that he has initiated with a group of five or six people that attend. He has a one-bedroom apartment, which has a small kitchenette, a living room, and a pretty-good-sized storage room. There are 12 floors in the building. They do not supply food or care since it's completely independent. You have to sign in when you get there and sign out when you leave, but Dad comes and goes as he pleases without signing in or signing out. They have an entertainment room and have various people that visit, like different preachers who come in every Saturday night and have church service. They also have musicians come in and play. They're all volunteers. "

"We're fairly pleased with the Regency; my mother has been living there for about five years. The rooms are perfectly OK. The staff is very professional. They have an activity director and some pretty robust activities. The food is OK and home-cooked. "

The staff is very friendly; the minute she needs them, she pushes her button and they come. They are very welcoming and helpful. They have exercise every morning and some kind of brain thing like trivia. They have mini concerts, bingo, play cards, and go out of the facility for activities and places. We are very pleased. "

"I thought Merrill Gardens was very nice, very clean, and very big. We noticed the different room sizes and the common areas. You could bring a pet, if you chose to. The eating facilities seemed very nice. The staff was very hospitable, kind, and patient and were willing to sit down and answer all the questions that we had. "

"We chose to move dad to The Terrace at Priceville, because it met all the requirements that we were looking for. They have friendly staff, friendly residents, and it was closer to home than any of the other places that we went and checked out. The price was also a little bit better as far as what we needed. My dad feels comfortable there, with the staff and the people that he met. His room is very spacious. The toilet and the shower are just the right size for him. He has a walk-in shower, so tripping hazards are at a minimum. Their dining area has several tables for people to enjoy breakfast together. Everything seemed clean. They were sprucing the place up with new paint and new flooring while we were visiting. So, everything in there should be relatively new as far as carpet, paint, and stuff. They give you dining options. If you have a family event and you want to go and have just your family, they have a separate room that you can reserve off to the side that has a bigger dining table. They had a couple of exercise activities as well, be it taking walks around the complex or doing some sort of fitness class as a group. They have been great with me and have always been able to answer any questions that I have. Shantavia always gets back to me through text or email (whether she is or not at work)."

"My mother moved into Riverside Senior Living. The room is very nice, and the facility is facing the river. It’s a nice place. Everybody is nice. I would recommend it."
