The people at Magnolia Trace are exceedingly friendly. I've been very impressed by that. The food is really excellent too. It beats many restaurants, and I've been super impressed by it. I think they have a good amount of activities. My dad is struggling with living there, so he doesn't partake with any of it. I have certainly encouraged him, because they have a lot of good things happening. They also have a doctor, so my mother has the ability to get her eye and her lab work done without having to go to a hospital.

Magnolia Trace was a very nice facility. After I realized what was entailed in regards to the cost of it, I was really turned off quickly. I wasn't expecting that. If I had the money to do that, I would. I do not have that kind of money. It was lovely. The rooms had more space than others I looked at. I liked the layout of them. Out of all of the ones I visited, Magnolia Trace was the nicest one. I didn't see that many people. Some of them were coming out of their apartments. Some went to different places. Some people might have gone to lunch. There were some dropping their garbage off and putting it in the container. Other than that, I didn't see any of them in their areas playing cards or that type of thing. I saw everything that would be of interest for me. As far as seeing anybody in there and doing things, I didn't see that many at all. I saw the exercise room and the activities room. They had a designated area for happy hour. The lady I talked to was very nice.

My wife is in skilled nursing at Magnolia Trace at the present time, and it's one of the best ones in Alabama. However, sooner or later, we're gonna run out of money. They don't take Medicaid patients, and it's very expensive. The food is mediocre. She has a large private room, and she has a television there. When she needs someone, sometimes it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get someone to come to her room. The only bad thing that we found there is their response time. Because of the virus, they serve all of them in the rooms, but they have a nice dining room. When it was in operation, they served everything, and everything was really nice in there. They haven't used the dining room now for about three or four months or more because of the virus. It's like a restaurant, and it's large enough to serve everybody on that floor. They had activities just about every day before the virus. They had churches come in, choir singing, and kids coming in performing. They have an activities director and an assistant director. You get a list of activities and when they're going to appear. The value for money is excellent for what you get. I would recommend it.

Magnolia Trace was kind of old, and the rooms looked more like a nursing home rather than an apartment. It was just a one room kind of thing and it's like a hospital. It just didn't impress me. I liked the dining room. They didn't have an exercise room. I wouldn't want to live there.

Magnolia Trace is a huge senior living community. They have independent living and duplex housing. It is a gated community, and they have club houses. They have multiple wings that are independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehab. It is a huge place. That is where we will go if we could get a rehab bed for my dad, and mom will go to assisted living. It offers everything that any senior adult community offers. My only complaint there -- which they have been agreeable to work through with us -- is that they do not offer assisted living for couples. They are all single room which is a little behind the times these days because there are so many senior couples that might need assistance. That has been kind of difficult for us, but they have been more than accommodating to offer to join two rooms to make a suite for my parents. They are willing to work with you. If you are looking for senior adult for assisted living for two people, you have some much nicer options in other places. Their independent living is lovely. They have all sorts of options for independent living, but assisted living has only one level of care. It's catered to single people -- primarily women.

I like Magnolia Trace because it's a non-profit organization. It's nice and I was very pleased with the surroundings. The food was very good.
