"Cedar Springs is very large and has good size rooms. They have varied activities. The dining room is very nice and clean, and the tables have tablecloths. The meals that I have seen that I brought my mom, she said had been real good food and excellent. I did like the staff; I had a close relationship with them, and it’s a smaller facility. I like the fact that it has only 27 rooms, and its right up the street for me; it's very convenient. "

"First of all this is the second assisted living facility that my mother-in-law has been in. We started out in a facility closer to our home but a rate increase forced us to look beyond our own back yard, so to speak. I AM SO GLAD WE DID! Without a doubt, this is one of the finest facilities that I have ever seen and experienced. The grounds, the staff, the activities and the living areas are superior to any other we have toured or my mother-in-law has lived in. It isn't just the facility that captivates you as you walk in but also the fact that residents are walking around with huge smiles on their face and engaging in conversation amongst each other as well. This is not a place where someone goes to die, this is the place where you go to LIVE!! I know it has made a huge impact on our lives and we greatly appreciate everyone who makes this possible. "

"We are very pleased with Madison Village. It’s all inclusive. My mother has been there for about two weeks and is very happy and making friends. The staff is very friendly; the minute she needs them, she pushes her button and they come. They are very welcoming and helpful. They have exercise every morning and some kind of brain thing like trivia. They have mini concerts, bingo, play cards, and go out of the facility for activities and places. We are very pleased. "

"Presbyterian has a lot going on for their seniors, and there’s always something going on. There’s a gentleman that I help who lives there and had an incident. He still can take care himself, but I drive him around. They have religious meetings for those who want that, and they have people who come in like band singing. They have activities like exercise, and people come in and give them entertainment with music. Their people are aware of what’s going on, and they make sure that they get to attend those functions. I really like the staff; they’re very friendly. I am over there a lot taking care of the gentleman but they know me as well as the resident. The residents will come in the laundry room and say good morning, and I really like that. "

"Regency Retirement Village - Huntsville didn't have a nurse, so you had to be able to know that you were taking your medicines. I liked their apartments. They were clean, they had a bigger refrigerator, and they had separate kitchen, living, and dining areas. They had an exercise room and an outdoor pool. It was also closer to where I live. "

"I liked Gateway Place because it was brand new and it included all the utilities. The staff had been very nice when she showed me around. I thought I would like the place once I moved in. "

"My wife is in skilled nursing at Magnolia Trace at the present time, and it's one of the best ones in Alabama. However, sooner or later, we're gonna run out of money. They don't take Medicaid patients, and it's very expensive. The food is mediocre. She has a large private room, and she has a television there. When she needs someone, sometimes it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get someone to come to her room. The only bad thing that we found there is their response time. Because of the virus, they serve all of them in the rooms, but they have a nice dining room. When it was in operation, they served everything, and everything was really nice in there. They haven't used the dining room now for about three or four months or more because of the virus. It's like a restaurant, and it's large enough to serve everybody on that floor. They had activities just about every day before the virus. They had churches come in, choir singing, and kids coming in performing. They have an activities director and an assistant director. You get a list of activities and when they're going to appear. The value for money is excellent for what you get. I would recommend it."

"I am in The Commons. Most of the residents here are very active. We have activities on a daily basis like bingo, bunco, and movie nights. We have a small fitness area where we have treadmills and yoga balls. We have a picnic area. It was really nice. There are a range of apartments that go from one bedroom with just a bedroom, a small living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom all the way to two full bedrooms and two full baths, and some of them have dens. They are very clean. The assistance is very helpful. I am in a rehab facility right now because I had a car accident and crashed the bones in my ankle, and I have to have extensive physical therapy. Last night, it was very cold and so I called and have one of the assistance to go out to on my court and bring my plants in and set them on the floor. I will absolutely recommend it. The only thing that I can see that needs improvement is the policy about overnight guests, and it is strictly from a personal point of view. You can only have overnight guests for 30 nights on 1 calendar year and for me it that is very inconvenient and not realistic because I am a grandmother that have grandchildren that love to come to my house and even if I have a one day a week or every weekend that will be 52 nights. "

"Fleming Farms Senior Living was nice. However, when I came into the lobby, it didn't look like they had swept it too well (even though it's a fairly new development). They showed me their activity room and exercise room, and all of that was good. They had a swimming pool. It seemed very nice, but I didn't like the entry. I think they could make the entryway a little cleaner because they're trying to make an impression. I had to sit and wait a few minutes before they came out for me. The apartments were smaller, and I didn't like that as well."

"The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are spacious. I enjoyed Sunday lunch the food is great and there are always having fun activities to participate in."
