"Country Gardens was a very lovely place, and it's very nice -- the facilities and the people running the place. They were excellent. They had quite a few activities, and they were very attentive to their clients; that's the one thing I like about it. The dining area was nice, and they were doing a good job. It was pretty homey, the people seemed to know what to expect, and they seemed to be comfortable. "

"We are choosing Varenita of West Cobb for my mother because it was new and we liked the people. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and happy. The place was large and it was very clean. They had a little courtyard area and a relaxation area. This facility was located near restaurants and grocery stores."

"My brother went to Carrollton Club. The place is very nice, very clean, and very quiet. I think they serve them one meal a day, and then they cook for the rest of it. They have their own kitchen and everything. It's a bedroom, a living room, and a full kitchen with a stove and refrigerator. They can have a pet. It's about $200 extra for a pet, just one and not over 20 pounds. It's convenient to the VA and pretty close to the hospital. They have bus service three days a week. They take you to the grocery store and to places that you need to go inside the county. I think it's a very good place. If I had to be by myself and have a place to live, I wouldn't mind living there. It's not like your house, of course, but I would feel safe there. Everyone that we've met over there has been very friendly and very cooperative. I didn't have any contact with the staff. My husband did, and he was pleased. They were easy to work with and very helpful. They have a cleaning service, a garbage service, and a laundry room (not in their apartment, but in the building that is convenient and very reasonably priced). I think he's going to be pleased there. He has to pay his electric bill. They have a lot of open spaces, dining rooms, and things that people can gather and associate with each other. I thought it was a nice setup."

"It was very nice. All of the people there were very friendly. It's clean. It seems like they have a lot of activities planned for the residents. I liked it. The common areas were big. They had a few of them conveniently located in most of the rooms. They also had a private dining room so that if you had a special occasion, your families could come and sit there. You wouldn't be out in the regular dining room, which I thought was pretty nice. They gave us a list of activities that they had planned. It looks like they prearranged it a month in advance. So, they gave us a sheet about what was going to happen for the rest of the month. It looked like they had a lot of things to do. The staff was super."

"Claiborne at Newnan Lakes opened earlier this year. The facility is very large, new, and beautiful! The manager showed me around and pointed out details about the home. She explained the many daily activities and answered my questions. The residents were in their daily gathering, and were very friendly - they waved and spoke to me as I toured the facility. The rooms were especially clean and had brand new appliances with quality countertops. In choosing a retirement home, I would seriously consider this facility."

"The activities here in Ashlynn Ridge 55+ Apartments are good. We have a pavilion in the back with a barbecue grill, swings, and a koi pond. We also have a gym, a theater room, and a beauty salon. It's just that when it comes to the rent and stuff (I've been here for a few months), they are raising the rent already."

"The thing I liked most about Foster Place Senior Living is that it was close to our residence. It won't take us long to get over there and visit and check up on our mom. It is a beautiful, rustic apartment community. The bungalows are very nice. The neighbors are close together. It's a nice community, very quiet, and very clean. I just felt right away as soon as we walked in the door that it would be a good fit for us. They're surrounded by greenery. Everybody keeps up their own property. There's a lot more freedom for families to come and go. Mom's got a two-bedroom as opposed to just one room and it's more like what she's used to. The staff was fantastic. She followed up with us. The facility was a bit older. The apartments looked like they were built a while back. It's just like regular apartments. She could still have the same type of freedom as she did before."

"The hallways at The Legacy at Walton Mill were so long and I couldn't walk very far, but the staff was very nice and very good. The rooms have a kitchen, a living room, doesn't have a dining room, but it's got a bar area, a small bedroom, and a bathroom. It's very nice but it's just the rooms were small for me."

"I looked at a place named The Phoenix at Dallas. It's independent living and the place has cottages. The one I visited was a one-car garage unit and I liked it. It has two large bedrooms, and the master bedroom can hold a king-sized bed while the other can hold a queen-size bed. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and a pretty nice-sized bathroom. The other bedroom has a regular closet and another bathroom, so the place has two full bathrooms with showers. There's a pretty nice kitchen with all the things that you want in it like the refrigerator with an ice maker. It has a sink where you can put barstools. It has a nice-sized pantry. The living room is small but it has a washer and dryer that comes with the apartment. Going out each of the bedroom doors has a patio. There are two patios, one in the front and one in the back. All the bills are paid including the water and the electricity. The cottages cost a little bit more but you don't have to do lawn care. They provide meals at a minimal cost. You just have to order 24 hours in advance if you want it delivered to your cottage. I met the assistant director and he was very helpful. The atmosphere is peaceful and the people are very friendly. They have an activity building with a swimming pool. They also have an outside area where you can play checkers. It's a new facility and a beautiful community. It's a little costly but there are ways to help you pay for it. They also give discounts for veterans and their spouses so you have ways to get help through the VA."

"We toured Spring House at Lithia Springs for my brother, and the tour was great. They were very nice and patient. They gave us many different options. They also tried to accommodate us as far as the cost. What I liked about them was that they offer three meals a day. It's by choice. You can choose what you would like to eat, as long as you just notify them a little bit ahead of time; that was really great. They were also saying that they are working on opening a fitness room as well, which I think is great to have. The dining area is just an open area that's available. It is spacious for anyone to come in to eat their meals. It's a nice space. The rooms are kind of an extended stay hotel suite. They have a kitchenette in there. I was disappointed with that because the only thing they have is a full-sized refrigerator, which is wonderful. There is some cabinet space, but they only have a small microwave. I guess it's because they offer meals. They did say they offer activities as well. I believe they also had a garden, which was really nice. A garden where the residents could help themselves to some produce, which is really nice. I think they can also do gardening if they want to join in. The cost is kind of high, and I don't think the rooms are as well done as I would have liked them to be."

"Amberley Senior Living was wonderful. They have two-bedroom apartments, the place was a little more expensive than the other one, but it's a lot quieter. There's a waiting list and I am currently on it. The model rooms were very nice, very spacious, and the person who toured me was very helpful and very nice. They had a lot of activities too. It's an older community. I've known about it for about the last ten years, but it's not bad."

"I’m on a waiting list at Hearthside for two years and I know I’m close to the top of the list. The place is just close and walking distance to shops, walking passed restaurants. The rooms have built-in kitchen, solid countertop bar, and you have option to a 1 or 2-bedroom or even 1 or 2-baths. I like it a lot because of where it is. It’s my first choice. The staff seem very cordial and nice. The place is full and everybody seems to be happy there. It’s probably the most attractive to me and my wife. We’re handicap but we’re still able to live independently. I’m legally visually impaired and my wife has Parkinson’s, but we’re able to get around. We need each other’s help, so we need to find a place that’s really conducive for our lifestyle, where we can cook our own meals and be able to fellowship with others like us in our age group. The place has a movie theater, screened porch, garden spots and walking trails. "

"Providence Personal Care Home was a house, which is fine if you want that type of setup. It was more like a house-type situation where people can sit out in the common area or go to their room. It was very clean, but that's not what my uncle wanted. The staff was very friendly. They seemed conscientious about how well kept the place was. There wasn't a lot of space for people to spread out, so they all had to congregate in the same common area, which was the living room basically."
