"My dad is in Country Gardens. It is very nice. It is very family oriented. The people are very receptive and very kind. His apartment is clean and roomy. It has lots of natural lights coming in. We eat there, and the food is good. It is not typically what I will eat, but it is a good traditional meal that a lot of people like. They have lots of activities, but my dad doesn't really participate in a lot of them. I like the warmness and the attitude of the employees that work there. They are very caring and genuine. "

"It was built back in the eighties and it's been in our county since we moved over here, so it's well established, right behind the major shopping areas. It's convenient to church. It has kind of an eighties look, townhouses, the main building, kind of those homes with fields and the grounds. It's real homey. I got a small apartment because it's just me. It's 600 square feet, but well designed, and all the spaces used well. It's real good for wheelchairs and walkers. The doors are wide enough. It's probably time to get more upgrades, but it's absolutely fine with us because we eat over at the main building anyway, so I don't do a lot of cooking or anything. The dining area is real nice. They take real good care of us and the food is good. It's not filet mignon, but it's all healthy, and it's all what we need. It's nutritious food and there's not a lot of sweets to make us not feel good. They try to take good care of us, and we get all our food groups for sure. It's always warm. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. It's a real happy place. Every day, you get to do bingo, you can do art, and you got different choices of different things you can do. You can go out to church, but you can have church there, too. We have book studies. We do yoga and exercise. The facility really works well for us all."

"My mother has been at the Steward House since Thanksgiving this year. She and our family have been extremely pleased with her accommodations and lifestyle. She is 94 and doesn't participate in many of the activities other than the church services. Her room is beautiful and always clean. Her bathroom has all of the facilities necessary for an elderly person. Plus, she as a private patio off of her room. The staff have been incredible - not only to my mother but also to our family - wanting to learn our names and talk about her needs. She is well seen about by the staff and enjoys the facility itself - it's an old home and has a lovely dining room, social area, outdoor porches and gardens. "

"We went for an interview at Angels PCH LLC and the young lady was great. She works with us no matter what problem we have. She was very nice. The place is really clean and smells good. I got to visit all the people that were staying there, and they were very pleased. I was there to visit the people who stayed there. It was great. We've got to be volunteers to play bingo games with them, me and my wife because we're in our 70s and they invited us back. They told us to come back anytime we want. They've got games and everything. They had a courtyard."

"Palms of Lake Spivey was a very gorgeous facility. They had numerous activities. The tour I had was excellent. You can do anything you want to because this is an independent facility. The far side of the building which you never see are the assisted people and the hospice people. You never see them, you never cross their paths. They have a swimming pool, walking trails, game rooms, pool tables, libraries, conference rooms, everything you will need. The decor in the dining hall was like the Waldorf in New York. "

"My mom is here. She is looking for an independent living and they provide the most independent living with appliances, kitchen and things like that. There is also a portion, which is assisted living, but she's in the independent living. She's doing great. For every senior that I met there, the first word out of their mouth is how nice and how helpful the staff are. They are very caring, very friendly, always available, and excellent. From the maintenance crew to the people who helped us move in, they have been excellent. The place itself just feels homey. It doesn't feel like a nursing home. It is a very comfortable and appealing place. They have certain meals accessible, and they have options on how they want to do that. The food is very flavorful and very good. They do bingo, yahtzee, and bring in outside entertainers and informational speakers. They have exercises and yoga. They go on trips. "

"We are completely satisfied with The Claiborne at Newnan Lakes. I like the people. They're very accommodating. My mother is there for assisted living. They do a good job. They have outings and they have little games that they play. They take good care of her. They bring her up and down for breakfast, lunch, and supper. We're pleased with them. I've tried their food, and it's good enough. It's all expensive, but we think it's reasonable for what we're getting."

"I toured Ashlynn Ridge 55+ Apartments. It's a newer community that has a lot of activities for seniors. It has a lot of help with the subsidies that they get to keep the cost of the place down for the residents. It's much cheaper than the usual senior living place and very cost-effective. Everyone seemed very friendly, but they didn't have openings for new residents. They have the option for the dining area or they can cook their own, it depends on what they want. The units are nice and new."

"I’m on a waiting list at Hearthside for two years and I know I’m close to the top of the list. The place is just close and walking distance to shops, walking passed restaurants. The rooms have built-in kitchen, solid countertop bar, and you have option to a 1 or 2-bedroom or even 1 or 2-baths. I like it a lot because of where it is. It’s my first choice. The staff seem very cordial and nice. The place is full and everybody seems to be happy there. It’s probably the most attractive to me and my wife. We’re handicap but we’re still able to live independently. I’m legally visually impaired and my wife has Parkinson’s, but we’re able to get around. We need each other’s help, so we need to find a place that’s really conducive for our lifestyle, where we can cook our own meals and be able to fellowship with others like us in our age group. The place has a movie theater, screened porch, garden spots and walking trails. "

"Arbor Terrace Peachtree City and its apartments were really nice. I liked the area. It was OK. I didn't interact with too many people because they were all busy. They did say hello, though. It's across the street from K-mart and a little shopping center, so the area is really nice. "

"Somerby of Peachtree City is a beautiful facility. I did not eat a meal there. Overall, it's beautiful. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just that they don't have two bedrooms. That facility does studio apartments and one-bedroom, one bath apartments; that's it. It was very clean. It was close to a hospital."

"My daughter-in-law went with me, and we visited. It is within two miles of our house, which has a lot of appeal. Annie was the one who took us around. She was very friendly and outgoing, gave a good explanation of the care and the facility, and gave us a tour. It was impressive. It is a separate building from the rest of the assisted living apartments, which was helpful to know that there was no interaction between them. It was the most expensive of the three I toured, but it was probably within the range of what I expected this kind of care would require. It looked like they had a lot of variety in their food and activities, and they don't really want the residents to spend their day in the bedroom. They need to be out and mixing with the rest of the group. You have a choice of a studio or a one-bedroom, where there is a bathroom between two of the rooms. They would share, but they would have their shower time scheduled on different days, so there was still a lot of privacy."

"Larry Moore Manor was very nice. There are two floors. Everybody has a balcony. That's what I like about it. The complex is friendly and clean and everybody is courteous. The management is easy to talk to. They have a garden patio and they have a courtyard. It's a high-rise and I'm applying to the garden apartments with a patio."

"I toured HearthSide Club Lafayette. We talked with a person who was very informative. They showed us the floor plans of the apartments and she said they had a waiting list. They had one- and two-bedrooms. My sister only needs a one-bedroom. They offered transportation to the grocery store. They also had little areas where they could play games and play cards. You can have your family over there, and there's a kitchen that can be used downstairs. They had a courtyard, too."

"I toured Christian City. It's an individual apartments, duplexes, and living cottages. They're modernized as far as the fixtures are concerned. They update the carpet and everything when you move in. You select your carpet, and they provide blinds. It seemed to be real nice. You pay a portion when you move in, and it is called a life lease. They have exercises, walking trails, the whole nine yards."

"Providence Personal Care Home was clean. The person I talked to was nice. She was very informative. The patients seemed like they were happy, and everybody seemed friendly. The place was neat and is something I might consider. It's a very nice place. There's only one staff for 4 people. If you get one that couldn't walk, it would probably be a lot harder for the one staff there. There's no noise, and the neighborhood was nice."

"My mother is in the Azalea Estates assisted living. The facilities and room were beautiful and clean and the staff members are great. My mom does water aerobics twice a week, they play cards and puzzles together, and are as active as they want to be. The staff would do what they're supposed to do like they bring her medications when she's supposed to have them, and they're just, friendly. They clean her room on Tuesdays, once a week, they're very consistent in what they do. I just want to say that the food could be better. They have arts and crafts, music, playing cards, putting puzzles together and they can do walks around the building. The grounds are really beautiful and nice, they have a garden in the back where they can garden. And they built it up so they don't have to bend over, and they can plant vegetables and flowers."

"My brother went to Carrollton Club. The place is very nice, very clean, and very quiet. I think they serve them one meal a day, and then they cook for the rest of it. They have their own kitchen and everything. It's a bedroom, a living room, and a full kitchen with a stove and refrigerator. They can have a pet. It's about $200 extra for a pet, just one and not over 20 pounds. It's convenient to the VA and pretty close to the hospital. They have bus service three days a week. They take you to the grocery store and to places that you need to go inside the county. I think it's a very good place. If I had to be by myself and have a place to live, I wouldn't mind living there. It's not like your house, of course, but I would feel safe there. Everyone that we've met over there has been very friendly and very cooperative. I didn't have any contact with the staff. My husband did, and he was pleased. They were easy to work with and very helpful. They have a cleaning service, a garbage service, and a laundry room (not in their apartment, but in the building that is convenient and very reasonably priced). I think he's going to be pleased there. He has to pay his electric bill. They have a lot of open spaces, dining rooms, and things that people can gather and associate with each other. I thought it was a nice setup."
