"I toured HearthSide Club Lafayette. We talked with a person who was very informative. They showed us the floor plans of the apartments and she said they had a waiting list. They had one- and two-bedrooms. My sister only needs a one-bedroom. They offered transportation to the grocery store. They also had little areas where they could play games and play cards. You can have your family over there, and there's a kitchen that can be used downstairs. They had a courtyard, too."

"I found something that I like, and it was Azalea Estates of Fayetteville and that probably would be the one I'll go with when I'm ready to move. It was very nice. I like it. The manager was very, very nice and super good, I like her. I was very happy with the rooms, the apartments and the layout, and everything about it. It was very pleasant. She showed me everything, but I would go in as independent living. I could switch over to assisted living when I need it, but I did see everything they had to offer. I talked with some of the residents, and I was very, very pleased and impressed with their care and the cleanliness of it, especially the staff, she was just very, very knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant, so I give her a very high mark. They have everything. I was pleased with all the things they have to offer. They have hydrotherapy, a heated indoor pool, water therapy, exercising, and a therapist; it's very, very nice. They have a lot to offer."

"I’m on a waiting list at Hearthside for two years and I know I’m close to the top of the list. The place is just close and walking distance to shops, walking passed restaurants. The rooms have built-in kitchen, solid countertop bar, and you have option to a 1 or 2-bedroom or even 1 or 2-baths. I like it a lot because of where it is. It’s my first choice. The staff seem very cordial and nice. The place is full and everybody seems to be happy there. It’s probably the most attractive to me and my wife. We’re handicap but we’re still able to live independently. I’m legally visually impaired and my wife has Parkinson’s, but we’re able to get around. We need each other’s help, so we need to find a place that’s really conducive for our lifestyle, where we can cook our own meals and be able to fellowship with others like us in our age group. The place has a movie theater, screened porch, garden spots and walking trails. "

"I will be moving into Arbor Terrace Peach Tree City Independent Living. I like the flowers outside, and the grounds are beautiful. When I stepped inside, everybody was so friendly, pleasant, and helpful in finding your way around. I stayed there for two nights, I think it was two nights or maybe three, I cannot remember. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, and I tried the activities. Everybody was like, "Good for you," and "You did good," and those kinds of things. The food was good. They had bowling, I did chair exercises, and there was a word scramble that they did that I participated in. Everybody seems so happy and pleasant, and there was nobody grumbling about anything. The staff is very nice, very helpful, and they get involved too."

"Somerby of Peachtree City seemed to be very nice and very clean, and everyone was very cordial. They seemed to have all the amenities I was looking for. It's close to shopping and things like that, and it's easy to get in and out of. The location was good. They have basic apartments that are adequate for what our needs are going to be in the future."

"Larry Moore Manor was very nice. There are two floors. Everybody has a balcony. That's what I like about it. The complex is friendly and clean and everybody is courteous. The management is easy to talk to. They have a garden patio and they have a courtyard. It's a high-rise and I'm applying to the garden apartments with a patio."

"I toured Christian City. It's an individual apartments, duplexes, and living cottages. They're modernized as far as the fixtures are concerned. They update the carpet and everything when you move in. You select your carpet, and they provide blinds. It seemed to be real nice. You pay a portion when you move in, and it is called a life lease. They have exercises, walking trails, the whole nine yards."

"I was really happy with Providence Personal Care Home. I was misinformed when I was sent over there because my mother needs to have a nursing home and not an assisted living home, so they weren't able to help me there. But the place was really nice and very clean, and the people were very, very friendly. I was really happy with it, especially because it was a house and not a big facility. I didn't try their food, but it smelled good. The staff were very nice."

"The rooms are spacious and easy to maintain. The windows are really large and some residents opt to not have curtains. I choose to have curtains although I live on the back side facing the trees. I have referred 3 residents here and they are very happy that I did. We are convenient to all resources in this area. It would be great if we could establish a Community Garden!! It would give the older residents a purpose and freedom to get out into the open."

"I toured Ashlynn Ridge 55+ Apartments. It's a newer community that has a lot of activities for seniors. It has a lot of help with the subsidies that they get to keep the cost of the place down for the residents. It's much cheaper than the usual senior living place and very cost-effective. Everyone seemed very friendly, but they didn't have openings for new residents. They have the option for the dining area or they can cook their own, it depends on what they want. The units are nice and new."

"I liked Claiborne at Newnan Lakes, but at the time, it was too expensive for me. They have happy hours on Fridays. I don't drink though, so it's not the alcohol that I'm looking for, it's more the music and the dancing. The facility is beautiful. The people are fantastic and friendly. The lady was just wonderful. The place is spotless. They have activities. I couldn't tell for sure if they have the dancing that I like, but I like the atmosphere. I still have the paperwork, and I wish I could afford it."

"Sun City Peachtree is very nice and the staff was super. They had 2 swimming pools, one inside and one outside. The units I saw there were homes and they had garages. They have a theater, a gym, pool room, golf court, tennis court, and a baseball field. They had a lot of things going. They don't serve food because it's independent living."

"My impression of Big Bethel was that it was a nice place with nice people. I have only been here for a couple of weeks and I haven’t tried the food but upon speaking to neighbors, they think its fine. The staff is very nice and very welcoming. It’s very clean and nice-looking. So far, I am happy. "
