"My sister is at a place called Legacy Health and Rehab LLC. It used to be a hospital back in the 1960s, and it's been converted into a skilled care facility. She has been there for two months now. The nursing home itself is a ragged-looking place. It makes me think of a group home or something. It's just old, it's not very clean and she has been very unhappy. She went through a period of delusions which made it hard for everybody there and made it hard for her family. She's about through with her delusions, but she cries a lot. She hates the food. I can't say much good about it. As with the staff, I've never really met one long enough to talk to them. My sister doesn't complain about them. However, when COVID came, most of them quit to go home and care for their family who had COVID. As for my sister's room there, my dormitory room looked better. It was like decorated ny Goodwill or one of those places. It's all old, used, and ragged, something like that. My brother is just absolutely furious at where she is. He wants to just walk in there and take her out. That might have been something we could have done before COVID struck the facility, and now it's a lockdown, and there won't be any getting her out any time soon. My sister hates the food. Lots of people like the food, but she doesn't like turnip greens and pinto beans. Old-fashioned country cooking is not something she likes, and she won't eat it. I don't think that they're well informed about older people. My sister gets left alone a lot, and I guess that's just fine, but she gets left alone to the point that she misses supper or she'll miss rehab. It's just 'Forget about her!' And that's not part of the deal from my point of view. I'm not fond of this place. My sister was losing weight because she wouldn't eat what they put out there. Then they started giving her two desserts so that she'd put on some calories. When I talked to her the other day, she was having chicken stew and she was okay with that."

"My aunt is in this nursing home. The staff seems very friendly but the conditions are not the best. The equipment and surroundings are very old and dingy. My aunt and other residents do not look or smell very visually clean. The staff states that they are overbudget and understaffed. My aunt is non-ambulatory and it seems they don't particularly care about getting her out of bed for a change of scenary or stimulation. The staff seems to have a relationship bond with her and they are very good about HIPPA restrictions and not disclosing anything they shouldn't except to her guardians. She seems fairly happy with being in this institution although that is a loose statement based on the fact that she is neurologically impaired. I have seen her in worse places. I wish the facility were a bit more updated and better staffed. I would also like to see the door locked from the inside as well. It seems a bit easy for an ambulatory resident to walk right out the door should they feel inclined to do so. "

" My brother is currently in skilled nursing (after surgery) at Glen Oaks. He is being cared for by a wonderful team of people. He is receiving wound care, and physical and occupational therapy. He is being monitored and assisted per his needs, and never misses a meal. I am unable to visit because of Covid-19 restrictions, but am able to FaceTime with him with help from the lovely young woman who is the Social Director. Our family is grateful for the very hardworking staff at Glen Oaks."

"My father was at Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Winchester for skilled nursing after his hospital stay. It's more of a rehabilitation/skilled nursing, and it's two to a room. They do rehabilitation like physical, occupational, and speech. That's where a lot of inpatients that need rehabilitation after their hospital stay go initially. They were very expensive. My dad didn't like the food there, and he said that one of the techs was not very kind to him and would rough handle him. He didn't like that. My mother got upset with them because they tried to put other medications on my father, which made him drowsy, and he wasn't getting much rehabilitation because of it. My dad wasn't going to be happy there. He wanted to get out of there. Of course, they wanted him out, too. It's more of a nursing home than assisted living because that's exactly what it is. They're in the bed. The bad thing about it is you got all these nurses and techs, but if they don't have the rehabilitation people there working with them to get them up, they're just laying in bed and they're getting the medications and all of that. If I got older, I would not want to go there. Some staff members were OK and some were not. They're supposed to provide a high level of care. It's very expensive, but the value of what they get is not good. Medicare was paying for him for up to 100 days, so my dad didn't have to pay when he was there. When my mother asked them, "Should he have to stay beyond that, how much would it cost?" They said it would be about $109,000 a year based on what my dad's needs were. That's a whole lot of money. You have techs, nurses, and rehabilitation people, so there were lots of high-level staff. Elk River, for that kind of money for what he was getting, not liking the food, and then one or two people rough handling him, then that's a 1 on value."

"My mom is at Celebration Way. We chose them because they had an opening, and it was not private pay. We could go through choices. They have several programs and activities that they put on during the week as they go on field trips. My mom can walk around the grounds as she wishes. They have someone who does exercise classes with them several times a week. My mom said the food is good."

"My father is in Signature Healthcare of Monteagle Rehab & Wellness Center for three months now. It's been good. The staff has been very good. They call me when he's going to the hospital, he's fallen from his bed, or if he needs extra care. He loves their spaghetti. He is in a room by himself because they said that that was the best care for him. There's two beds (my dad's in one). They have the wheelchair. They have a dresser. They have a mirror. He can lift the curtains to see outside. The grounds are OK; the inside is OK. I like the nurses. They keep me informed of everything. They're rather good."

"Christian Care Center of Medina is the best one I have been in because I've been in three of them. Everything was wonderful except the food they cook, it wasn't good. I stayed there for two months for rehab. The rooms were nice. If you needed a private room, you would pay more, but they have two beds mostly and that's what everybody gets. They just opened up in May this year, so it's nice and clean. The nurses and staff are awesome, they take care of me. You get 3 meals a day, they bring it to your room, and they pick up the tray. Overall, it's a good home. They have a therapy room, where you can exercise, and they try to keep you going and doing something. They've got three girls that work in there and they know what they're doing. As for the cost, my insurance paid for it. I just couldn't say enough about them because they're that loyal in taking care of me. Even if the people don't come around, the staff keeps up with them. They wash their clothes and try to keep them busy mentally, and that's a lot right there. I had one girl there that I wish I could've brought home with me, we were that close as far as talking, joking, and stuff like that. They have church services and games that they play. They have a woman that tries to keep them happy, she brings magazines and books if you want some of them."

"Community Care is top notch. My family member has been in other facilities, and CCRC is by far the best. The nurses are caring, knowledgeable, and well-informed. They get to know each resident’s personality, likes and dislikes, as well as the family; residents are shown so much respect. When there are any changes in my loved one’s health, meds, attitude, etc, I am notified immediately. We love the animals in the facility because it makes it feel like home. Yes, the facility is old, but it is very well maintained and is always very clean. "

"My mother has been staying at Donalson Care Center for just over a year now. She's had excellent care and has certainly improved since she's been there. She likes it and they have a lot of different activities that she gets to participate in. They've been very attentive to her needs. The place is kept clean and it smells good when you walk in. The staff is very caring. My mom is in a shared room. They have exercise, churches coming in, Bible studies, singing, and bus trips for those who are able. Everyone and Mother are pleased with the activities. They're good and have been there a long time. They have excellent reviews and they're recommended to us by friends. I've eaten some of the meals and they're good. The place is all on one floor and they've added wings to it, and once you get familiar with the pattern, it's great. The cost is pretty well average of all of them we've checked into."

"Fayetteville Care and Rehabilitation Center is a good place. They have a lot of staff on hand at all times, and we have 24/7 access to our loved ones. They have people come in to sing, and do outings, have a beauty shop, laundry facilities, courtyards where the residents can plant flowers, and a gathering room where they watch TV and do their activities."

"We chose Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center for my mother because they were willing to help me. I went through their facility and everything looked good, I was impressed with it. They showed me everything. We have open communication, I had somebody I could talk to, give me some answers, and help me. The rest of the other places were interested in the money, they want me to pay a great deal of amount out of my pocket. The food is better than what I could cook. The rooms are absolutely clean."

"My mother recieved wonderful care and was treated as if she would be treated at home, with love and tremendous care. The room was cleaned twice a day, more if needed. Physicians kept me informed and showed mom love. Nurses and Nurses aides kept me informed, loved on my self and mom. They quickly became a part of our extended family. I thank God for the care my mother recieved at this facilty. As a foot note. She came from another facility that was just the oposite."
