My dad was in NHC HealthCare, Tullahoma. They have been wonderful. When they sent him to the hospital Sunday because of what was going on, and I called Monday and said this is what's happening, what do I need to do, he was supposed to be moving out and that's not going to happen, they said don't worry about it, we'll pack up all his stuff and keep it in storage, and there was no limit on how long they would store it. I asked if he would be able to come back there if he needed skilled care again, and they said since they transferred him to the hospital, he's more than welcome to come back and stay for those 18 to 20 days, and "whatever he needs, let us know". They have been wonderful. He's made friends there, even with the families of other residents. When I get there, they would say, "Oh my God, we love your dad," and the staff would say the same. He has a favorite nurse. They like him, and he likes them. This is the place he wanted to come to, and he wanted to be there. You walk in there, and you smell potpourri. Physical therapy has been working with him. They have been really working hard with him to regain his balance so he can move to the next level. That part has been really good. He loves it there. When he moved there, his demeanor changed instantly. Speaking with him in the place he was before, I could hear depression, and after he got there, it was like speaking to a whole different person. I haven't tried the food myself, but I've been there when they brought it during lunch and dinner, and he hasn't complained about the food.
