My grandfather was a veteran in the Korean War. When our family needed non-medical, in-home care, we turned to this Home Instead Senior Care that serves Murfreesboro and surrounding counties. We chose to avoid any veteran’s benefits & red tape. We decided to private pay for our family’s care, just like we had to do for lawn care. The employees did an outstanding job, never missed a visit, and even brought home baked goodies to bright my family’s day. We can’t say enough about this office’s awesome caring and compassionate presence in our community.

Brighter Days has been very flexible and responsive to our needs. We have been impressed with the caregivers who have come to our home to stay with Matthew while he recovers from surgery and starts his oncology treatments. After we signed a transportation waiver with Brighter Days, our regular caregiver has been able to drive Matthew to/from his medical appointments. The services have been a tremendous help to us during this health crisis, and the caregivers have been compassionate and understanding.

If I only knew then what I am painfully aware of now, I would never have signed an agreement with Senior Solutions. They promise care and concern and deliver absolutely nothing. There clearly is a pattern because unfortunately, I have the same complaints that others have posted since 2017. If and when employees come, they are often late and leave early. Very rarely does the same employee come twice. So the client can never receive consistent care. Employees have been rude and dismissive. I’ve been cursed in my own home. Hade my door slammed in my face. We are not notified that employees will not report for duty. The idea that shifts are simply offered and the employees have the option of taking them or leaving the client in the lurch is a horrible business plan. The employees should be hired with the expectation that shifts or clients will be assigned. There are HIPAA laws being broken I am certain. One employee came for a four hour shift, took a 1 hour lunch, a 15 minute break and expected me to sign a document that she have been there the full 4 hours. Requests to speak with management go unanswered. I have pleaded for better treatment but to no avail. It is actually a form of abuse both of my sister who is the client and myself as the primary caregiver because I am left helpless to move or to do anything for an entire shift because either I don’t trust who is in my home or I am left hanging because the person did not show and they (Senior Solutions) leaves me hanging in hopes that someone else might volunteer to take the shift. Simply put you should not take on a client on a possibility that you might serve them. Be honest, be compassionate and tell us of front and allow us to make the decision that we want to take that chance with our loved ones lives. The half of our dilemmas have not been told. I could literally write a book. All true.

Determining Your Loved One’s Need for In-Home Care
Aging can be a difficult process, and loved ones may not always ask for help – often times it’s up to their family to evaluate their need for help around the house. While no two situations are exactly alike, this checklist can help you and your loved ones determine when it’s time to start the search for a home care provider.
Guidelines for Talking About In-Home Care
If you’ve determined that your loved one needs the assistance of a care provider in their home, it may be time for a difficult conversation. Handled correctly, however, this process can bring a family together and ensure that everyone’s concerns are addressed. Use this PDF as a starting point to help the conversation stay as positive and productive as possible.
