The first one I got wasn't very professional, so I had to get a replacement, which was an easy thing to do, and I got a really good girl and she's got a good work ethic. Communication is very good. They are very respectful, and they always say thank you and inquire how I'm doing. They are just very efficient, so everything is great."

"I used Comfort Keepers, and they did great. Although they're really the only ones I found in town that's more experienced in taking care of someone that was paralyzed from the chest down. The reason I needed them was because I was going to be out-of-town for 10 days. I am my daughter's caregiver, and I only use them when I can't do it or when I'm going to be out-of-town. For one thing, I had interviewed a couple of other services that ended up they couldn't do it because they didn't have someone who was qualified to do her BAL program, which involves putting her suppository in the morning, and they could. Basically, it's the dressing and getting her into the chair and the BAL program because there aren't a lot of people that know how to do the BAL program with someone who's paralyzed and can't do it themselves, and they did a good job at that. The reason I'm giving them a 4 is because she's had problems with some bladder infections since I was gone, and I don't know if it had to do with them not cleaning her up good enough or not. A lot of them out there make you pay a minimum four hours per day to come out, but they didn't do that. We only needed them for two hours a day, and they charged us three hours most of the time just because they were coming quite a long way. The person was from way southeast of Huntsville, and we live way north of Huntsville, but they did really well with working for lesser price too. We'll call them again when we need them. "

They were not able to supply the flexibility that we sometimes needed, at first it was quite difficult, but she is on a regular schedule now, and it's been working well. They have their rules, like if you can't call within 24 hours, they'll charge you anyway, and they're pricey, but we are grateful to have the help. They've been very helpful, they started February of this year, and we've met three caregivers. The one who comes regularly is very pleasant, calm, and works very well with my mother-in-law. She bathes her, cooks for my father-in-law, and does the laundry. It's wonderful for my father-in-law to have some respite, and to be able to get out of the house when she's there. The administrator doesn't normally cover this area, but they're doing this as a favor for us. I would recommend them, and our experience has been good."
