"My cousin was a resident of The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge. I really liked Charlie. He helped me a lot with my situation and tried to move my cousin and get him in a nice place. So, the staff was excellent. I loved the place. Cindy and Charlie I worked with the most, and the doctor there was excellent at calling me all the time. The whole facility was beautiful, and I was very happy with him being there and was hoping he could stay there for a while, but his health didn't allow that. The whole thing was like living in a hotel, like being at a resort compared to where he was. I was there when they had people playing bingo and doing activities in the lounge, but my cousin couldn't participate. It was a lot more money than where I had him previously, but compared to other places, it was fair."

"The rooms are well-kept, spacious, and bright. The staff are all friendly and genuinely seem like they love what they do. My mom is really thriving there"

"Atria Huntington is a very good place. It's excellent. My friend gets very good care, and he is very happy there. His room is very large. The building was a school once, so everybody had one large room and a bathroom. The food is very good. They have a dining room and three meals a day. It's very nice. They have two movies a day, they have music singers, speakers, and things like that, and they have holiday parties. They have very nice activities. I go there frequently."

"I got to Sunrise of Huntington early, so I walked around the whole place and checked the parking. The landscaping was good. I went in and they showed me those boards, like a little computer terminal where you put your name so it's on file that you're in the building for the safety of the residents. I was given a tour of the building and I was taken to a room. It was a two person room, but it was just being set up, and I couldn't find anything negative about it. They had the menu. They had the people that would help and they also had a nurse. If a resident needed medicine, they would do that too. They were friendly. They said their hellos. They were setting up for something where somebody was going to play an instrument or something. I was shown to the room, how it was set up, and the bedrooms had grab bars."

"I am a resident of Orchard Estate of Woodbury. It's only about three years old and small, maybe a hundred people. They have a lot of activities, and it is near my family. Everything is brand new. It's very clean. They have outdoor walks, and a bus takes you on trips if you want to go to the supermarket and the drugstore. They have exercise classes. If you want to stay in your room, you can stay in your room. They have a dining room, and they have three meals a day. The food could have been better. The staff is very nice. They know everybody by name. The value is a little expensive."

"My mom moved into The Arbors Assisted Living at Islandia. They're willing to give extra care where other communities want. The staff is very good and caring. I have not tried the food, but my mom likes it. They have bingo and other games where they interact with the residents."

"I went to Belair Care Center after a total knee replacement. I couldn't have been happier with my stay there! The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and gives you a warm feeling. They have a little restaurant you can go to for lunch (that has a beautiful outside patio). I played bingo, did art therapy and even got visited by their therapy dog, Chloe. I give physical therapy an A+! "

"I'm very impressed with Birchwood Suites. I liked it very much, but I want to see other options, and the price was high. I want independent living, and I'd like to have a place to sit outside, and I am coming with my cat. I like that I had kind of my own cottage with two entrances, and it had an outside little tiny patio where I could sit. I spoke to the director, Natasha, and she led me around the place. She was very nice and very encouraging. The facility looked pretty good. I had a separate bedroom, a separate living room, and a small kitchenette. The bathroom looked good."

"I got to tour Atria East Northport. Diego gave me a tour. It was very pleasant surroundings. Lovely outdoors. People seemed to be active. There were activities and opportunities to watch movies and do various activities. Nice accommodations as far as the room accommodations. The common areas were very nice, too. I liked Atria East Northport. It also happened to be within walking distance of my house. My husband, as the weeks passed, became more and more debilitated, so I needed a place with a little more hands-on nursing, so Atria would have been my choice for assisted living. It appeared to be clean and well-kept. Nice physical surroundings. The staff was very pleasant, very accommodating, and very available. He made himself available if I had any questions. He would either answer immediately or get right back to me. And as we walked around, the other staff were smiling and friendly."

"Whisper Woods of Smithtown seemed very clean and very professionally run. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable. Everything looked wonderful. It was very comfortable."

My mom said the food is good there. There's always something to do there. They take them out if they want to go to the store and stuff like that. "We toured Sunrise of Smithtown, we liked it very much, and we're going back next Wednesday. It just seems very nice, almost like home, it's as close as you can get to it. We were very pleased with it. We saw the lady that was touring us, she was very nice too, and the manager, but I don't remember her name. She was also very nice. The room was very nice, spacious, and very modern. It had a small kitchenette area. It was very nice, more than I expected. It has its own bath. The dining area was beautiful. Everything was perfectly clean to me. It's nearby."
