My husband was transferred from the VA after having 3 surgeries to this facility, what a mistake. The condition of the rooms, grounds and overall building are terrible, if the health board did an inspection (which they should & UNANNOUNCED) would certainly find violations and a large list of them. It's sad, patients come here to get better not worse. I am putting this into writing that, if my husband gets an infection because their staff is "too" busy to attend to the patients, I will seek legal advise. I took pictures of all I've seen so far & will continue while he is there. Feces smeared on his bathroom sink, garbage collecting for days and he has a wound vac that needs to be changed every other day but he has to threaten them before they make the time to address. These people say they are professionals, I beg a differ. My 4 year old grandson can do a better job of cleaning than they do and as far as attending to the patients, ANYONE CAN DO BETTER & THEY DON'T NEED A CERTIFICATION. Do these employees think they are better than everyone else, DISGUSTING THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE CONDITION THE PATIENTS ARE IN AND DO A BETTER JOB AT DEMANDING RESULTS OF CLEAN UP. I'm thoroughly upset and have made some calls and plan to share the pictures I have and any other photos I take.

I went to this facility today to visit a friend and was absolutely disgusted by what I saw. Patients are left for hours unattended, half of the staff was outside smoking and playing around on their phones, the supervisor was rude and had multiple excuses as to why things couldn't be done, and so on. This is a sorry excuse for a rehabilitation facility and I feel that the state needs to step in immediately.

This facility is short staffed. The personal care is horrific. I am completely devastated by the neglect. Hire some staff and pay them accordingly!!!!!! Northgate is definitely not hesitant to send an enormous bill to the family. The State Department of Health needs to be called to check up on the care of the paients unexpectedly!!!!! I am so upset about the neglect on their so called "rehab" unit I could cry.

My mom died there in the past year. She was neglected in every way during the pandemic. Her room was filthy and there was never any staff to help, especially at night. She was left in bed in filth and developed sores. She. like most others there, contracted covid. The place was swarming with it....not sure if the place was just plain dirty or the staff was just that irresponsible. I would never recommend anyone go there. Its a 1 star facility at best.....more like zero stars.

Patient privacy and confidentiality breach with respect to billing practices, human errors in sending a bill to an incorrect address. Lack of accountability

We chose North Gate Health Care Facility. So far it's very good and we're very happy. The personnel is very nice, they're very personable, and very kind. The place seems very clean. They keep the residents quite active even though they have dementia. My dad seems very happy there, so I'm very pleased with it. It's nice and clean, the staff is wonderful, and very pleasant to have a conversation with. I don't really have any complaints. So far so good. The community's physical appearance is very welcoming. As far as occupational therapy, I did a little bit more with my dad here at home. Because they have such a large quantity of people there compared to the one or two staff members that look after everyone, it's not like a one-on-one activity. They play games, they sing, and even dance, but other than that they don't do things like when I give my dad different jobs to do at home.

I was less than impressed with the facilities rehab services. I chose Northgate for my mother because it was rated between 3 and 4 stars. However, her experience was a 3 at best. She raved about PT, but that was it. The Occupational Therapist was rude and did not provide the therapy as scheduled. She had my mother wash her privates and the refused to get her a clean washcloth to wash her face. The nursing staff for the most part was pleasant and respectful, but they we're very slow to answer call lights. My mother rarely used her call light and the one night she waited 45 minutes for her light to be answered. When they finally did, she was soaked and they had to change her complete bed. Additionally, they would not listen to her regarding her BP medication regimen. It has taken her PCP 3 years to find the right combination and timing to regulate her BP and because they would not listen to her at first her BP was going extremely high and then bottoming out. They need to listen to their patients. The food was delivered cold at least 75% of the time and was horrid. The cost for her stay was ridiculous considering that I had to bring her palatable and warm food and OT was little to be desired. If this is a 4+ star facility, I would hate to see what 3 stars get you. I should be able to have peace of mind with her inpatient rehab while I work full-time.

I simply cannot say enough terrible things about Northgate. What a lousy place. The rooms are very institutional and tiny, the food is gross and they are disgustingly understaffed. Rude staff were plentiful, with only 2 that I remember being appropriate. My relative was treated so poorly at this facility one staff was fired due to it. On the day my relative left, I got a call saying they were found on the floor of their room. I asked how long they were there, and I was told anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, no one knew for sure. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

I am a 38 year old quadriplegic I have to alert with my mind three times in the last 6 months I was given the wrong medication in place of my pain medication one was a heart medication wood was the blood pressure and one was for Bowl and belly discomfort had I not had my I would have just swallowed the medication thank God I was able to look at my medications first and realize that it was the wrong medicine all I was told was the right people were disciplined my fiance was visiting me overnight one night and was harassed by employee after taking my dog outside around 1 o'clock in the morning I asked what happened to the employee that was Harassed I was never given an answer so please beware crazy crabby workers at night time just the other day I was burned in my room from a grabber that left on the heater in my room for a couple of days because of the burn my smoking privileges were taken away I can now only smoke if an employee will supervise me it really hurts to be treated like a little kid I'm a quadriplegic I can't do it really hurts when they take away all the things that you can do I guess every facility has its up and downs but with my own eyes I have witnessed people other residents setting in their own urine for hours at a time I think I would think twice about bringing a love the one here unless you have a lot of time able to come here to make sure that they are being treated with the utmost care in the seven years that I have been in a wheelchair I actually Witness worst situations in other facilities this is as good as it gets it's always a sad situation one love one has to leave home and be put into a nursing home good luck and I hope your stay is a lot smoother than mine

Everybody is really nice, and my dad is really comfortable at Northgate, so that helps. I’m most impressed probably with the way they care for the people. My dad had a couple of falls, which is to be expected because he has dementia, so he forgets to ring his bell to go the bathroom. We haven't had any problems with the care so far.

Northgate Manor is a lovely Nursing home. From my experience they deal with short-term and long term care residents. The facility spends a great deal of time working with their staff to maintain a high quality of life for their residents. There are many activities planned throughout the week for resident enjoyment. I truly felt the Nursing Supervisor had a wonderful handle on her staff and was well respected. The Adminsitrative Office was always very professional and ready and willing to assist us with any questions/concerns we had. The food for the residents was to be expected when feeding large volumes of people, the residents liked it.
