Fairlawn Adult Home was not to be rejected judging on the outside, but when we went it, we were disappointed in the general appearance. It was not what we had hoped for. We arrived at about lunchtime and found that the lunch area was brimming with folk, so its capacity seemed to be not quite what you would expect. I wouldn't want to have to have my meals in a place like that day after day. The ambiance not as good as I hoped. In general, we found it unacceptable for our purposes. The staff members who gave us the tour were very nice people, and we felt welcomed and were not treated as if we were an infringement on anything. We were invited to look at everything. I didn't see any discontent, but the rooms were not ideal for the people who were occupying them. All the rooms were shared and occupied by at least two people, and I was hoping to have a private space.
