Fields of Florissant

My parents are moving to the memory care unit of Fields of Florissant. I visited the place, and everybody there was friendly and helpful. It was a large, older building, but it was nice. It was beautiful the way it was set up. I liked the activity room. I loved the outdoor area where they can sit. They're so far away from the public, so if somebody walked out, you won't have anywhere to go but a bunch of land. I liked that location because it was just land everywhere. The whole area was under them. Across the street, they had independent living, which was all underneath them. It's just a large area, and I liked it. I liked the fact that it was all the way away from the public. The rooms were beautiful, and I loved the way they were set up. My mom and dad were going with a 2-bedroom apartment, and the second bedroom will be like a sitting room, as they had at their home. They had a nice little full kitchen minus the stove, which was important to me. They serve their meals in the dining area, so there was no need to do any cooking. They have restaurant-style serving and a variety of foods to choose from. They serve three meals a day. They had large bathrooms with walk-in closets and walk-in showers. I really liked the layout. They had sitting areas all over the building where the residents could sit. If they just want to come out of their apartment and don't really want to go anywhere, they have that setup. They could get their seniors out on field trips, too, and I liked that. I also liked the doctor on call. They had 24-hour available staffing, so if the residents had any problems, somebody would always be there to help. It felt like a lot of security.

I toured the Fields of Florissant. The community is very nice. The staff and the residents there were friendly. I did not get to see a lot of the facility, just when I walked into the dining area and the recreation area. I saw two of the rooms, the studio apartment and the one-bedroom apartment. Both apartments were very nice. The bathrooms were large and spacious. I like the one-bedroom apartment for my mom. Everything there was pretty much updated. I liked that they offered a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink area inside each facility. It was a large facility, and the entire place seemed very clean. She introduced me to the activities director and said that she was very creative and always came up with different activities for them to do. It was Halloween-themed at the time, and there were activities around that.

I toured Fields of Florissant. I liked the little villas. They were perfect, with a little attached garage. The staff who assisted with the tour were very professional and concerned. She was excellent. I don't have any complaints. The little villas were something that I would really like. It was just too expensive. I think it was like $3,000 a month, and that was a little more than what I wanted to pay. The size of the rooms was nice, and the layout was beautiful. It's private. You had everything that you needed right there.

I have moved in. Everything is on time, and everybody is really nice. The place is clean and it doesn't smell. When you call the staff, they come pretty quickly. However, the food is better than the place where I was at last. I haven't had much of a chance to access anything other than just the apartment and the dining room. I think the activities are good overall. The value for the money is very good, too. I don't have to provide too much of my own things because everything else is provided.

It was the place I was trying to get my husband into. It was 5 minutes from my house, and I tried to get him there, but he was too sick for them. It's a beautiful place. We went and toured their memory care and it was very nice and very neat. It was a beautiful place on the inside and outside. The room was lovely and very, very nice. I only saw one and it had a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom. The staff who assisted us was also very nice.

The tour was fine. We just walked around, and we saw the place, and everything looked nice and clean. The person who accommodated me was very informative and she knew everything. The rooms were fine. There's nothing wrong with them. Pretty much every place we toured, they all kind of looked the same. There are no activities right now due to COVID, but they're just getting back to mealtime with two people at a table. There was a little library.
