"I toured Fields of Florissant. I liked the little villas. They were perfect, with a little attached garage. The staff who assisted with the tour were very professional and concerned. She was excellent. I don't have any complaints. The little villas were something that I would really like. It was just too expensive. I think it was like $3,000 a month, and that was a little more than what I wanted to pay. The size of the rooms was nice, and the layout was beautiful. It's private. You had everything that you needed right there."

"I toured the St. Andrew's Assisted Living of Bridgeton. I looked at a studio apartment, and it was spacious. They also had studio apartments that had wider doors for wheelchairs and things like that. It's based on what the needs are. It was clean, and the staff I passed through were very nice, friendly, and attentive. It was close to the highway, so it was accessible. It was right by everything, like a grocery store and a hardware store, so the amenities are there. You're not situated where you can't get to anything. They also had transportation to take the residents anywhere. I told the director who toured me that the place would be a good option, and I would recommend it. They don't have a stove or a microwave in the apartments, but they do have dorm-sized refrigerators. They said the clients can request some specific meals, too. It was clean, and I didn't see anything that bothered me. The rooms that they let me see were display rooms, but they were maintained well. The hall was clean, too."

"My mom has been in Memory Care at Kingsland Walk for over three years. The facility is well maintained and clean. We are thrilled with the Executive Director, who is organized. professional and easy talk with. She is good with employees and always smiling. The staff is wonderful ..from Maintenance to Housekeeping, Medicine and Caregiving. We adore the MC Director, Tanika, and all the Care, devotion and long hours she puts in caring for my mom and all the residents. She and her staff are the best we have had in all our tenure here and we feel extremely blessed that mom is safe, clean and cared for in every way. These wonderful people are like family to us."

"My father already moved to The Glenwood Supportive Living of Staunton. I don't have any negatives right now. I like the location. The people seem like they genuinely care, and it felt clean and new. I visited six different assisted living places and it was definitely my favorite. The administrator, Stephanie, hands down is my favorite person. She seems like she genuinely cares. She's very concerned about the patient's well-being. I'm a big fan of the administrators. I've got no problems. My dad likes the food. He hasn't complained, but I haven't tried it. I think everything looks current and very clean. It didn't feel like an assisted living facility. It felt more like apartments, so I liked it. Compared to other prices that I looked around, it was the best price. He's in a studio and it still has a separate bedroom. I am pleased with the layout."

"We toured the assisted living facility of Autumn View Gardens - Saint Louis for my husband's sister. She went for an evaluation, and it turned out she needed more than what they could offer us. The staff who assisted us were very nice. The cleanliness and the structure of the building were very nice. They also have outdoor spaces."

"My Uncle loves it at Lake St. Charles, he says it feels like home. There are so many activities and bus trips for him to choose. They just recently went to the winery and he had a great time. They also have a receptionist 24 hours a day so knowing someone is there if he needs something is a huge bonus."

"My mother will do respite care here for the fourth time. I pretty much liked everything about it. The atmosphere as soon as I walked in the door, I just knew it felt homey. I liked the activities that they did and the interaction. She went on the tour with me and they made her feel welcome. I fell in love with the staff. While I was touring, she sat with some of the other residents and she was comfortable there. She ate all her food there. The place was very clean and it smelled clean. It was just like walking in The Hilton."

"We toured St. Louis Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care, and we have friends who have been there and are positive about it. They were very thorough. They recognized our need, introduced us to what they have in the community, and the fact that they would help my brother-in-law eat, and then he would have a studio. They have bathing assistants, beauty parlors, and barbershops in the facility. The room was like a studio. It has a bed and a separate bath, a set-up for television, a chair, and a limited in-room space. They had adequate rooms, and they looked nice. In the common areas, they had a lot of things going on, like a movie, a trivia, and people sitting and visiting. I was very impressed with their activities, and the way they communicated was like a TV screen set up to a computer, so they would say, "This is somebody's birthday, or This is what we're having now.", and that kind of thing."

"I toured Harvester Residential Care. I appreciated the warm welcome that I received. Everyone that I spoke with was very kind, friendly, and helpful. They answered my questions. I was glad to be able to see the assisted living center, as well as the group housing options. My questions were answered, and I received literature and a card to take home if we wanted additional information or assistance. The menu was posted. It was very helpful, also. They have outdoor spaces near the driveway, near the front entrance. I saw comfortable chairs, and the grounds were very well-maintained."

"My father stayed a few weeks on the acute rehab side and then moved over to the skilled nursing care side for a few more weeks till he got strong enough to come home. First of all, the place is beautiful- both the rooms and overall facility. It is kept very nice and has a cheery atmosphere. It even has its own bakery that is open daily to get a sweet treat. The staff is attentive and patient and hard working on behalf of their patients. They responded to my calls and treated my father with extra special care. We were extremely nervous about having my father in a nursing home...and we got so LUCKY when we found Brooking Park. It was more like a home which was a grateful surprise! I/we highly recommend this facility!"

"I toured Friendship Village Chesterfield. I love the property. It's absolutely beautiful. It's right next to Faust Park, and the Butterfly House is right there, and that's a wonderful attraction. The people that work there are amazing. Absolutely amazing. They're the kindest group. I've worked with a lot of people in real estate when I was in real estate, and I've also worked in other areas, and these people just exceed anybody I've met in a business relationship, so I'm really impressed. They're so kind, and they act like your family. And the facilities are so beautiful. I'm getting one of the smallest rooms. It's not a studio. It's a step up from there. What I like about them, when anybody moves out, they go in and gut that unit down to the studs, and everything is new, and then you have new appliances as well. The staff member who toured me was wonderful."

"My wife doesn't see very well and The Mary Culver Home is designed only for visually impaired women, and they've been in business for 150 years, so I like it. It's a small home. It only got 27 private rooms, so she gets a lot of one-on-one attention and they're very good. They are very attentive towards her and I would highly recommend anybody if their spouse is visually impaired, because that's the one requirement to get in. I like the fact that the patient to staff ratio was like 7 to 1 and the food's good. My wife seems to enjoy the food and they do activities with them all the time. So, they try to get them involved in various activities and I'm pleased. The rooms are small, but they're all private, and they have a private bathroom in them. It's plenty and big enough to get around. I think the home was built in 1966, I believe, so it is an older home, but it's well-maintained. They have a dining area and they kind of wait on them like it's a restaurant. They'll come up there and take their order, and whatever they want, they'll cook it for them. They have exercise classes. They do tours of different countries and stuff like that. They listen to those kinds of tapes and then discuss them. The other day when I was there, they were doing Martin Luther King's history and life. So, they do something like that all the time for them."

"I visited the memory care facility of The Meadowlands. The people were very nice and very helpful. They showed us the layout of the building and the security for the memory care. In the memory-care area, I liked how they had things set up for the patients to do. Like they had a little area with a workshop where they had birdhouses and a baby doll section. I saw some puzzles out, too, so I liked that they have different sections designated for those things. I liked that the memory care has its own kitchen facility, too. I thought that it was nice that they wouldn't have to wait for food and for the other patients to be served. The rooms were nice, clean, and were a good size. The bathrooms were also pretty big. The parking was fine. It was within close distance and not too far from the front doors. The people who gave the tour were very caring. They were understanding of what we needed. They are also very knowledgeable about the place and everything that they have to offer."

"We picked The Village at Morse Farm for my mom. It's closest to us. It's very pleasant and nicely done. One of my mom's good friends still lives there, so that's a big plus. It's very accommodating. They take care of everything for you, and it was going to be very easy if my mom needed to transfer into Medicaid funding. You can still stay there. They don't make you leave or wait or move or anything, so that was a consideration, too. The staff who gave the tour was very informative. The room was very pleasant and nice. Nice surroundings. They have one- and two-bedrooms, and so it would be very helpful to have that possibility. We didn't try any food, but the dining area was nice, open, bright, and pleasant. My mom's friend just loves it there. That's probably the reason we were thinking of it, especially since it's the closest one to us. She said, "I just live like a queen. They take care of everything. It's like living in a resort." It's reasonably priced compared to all the other ones around us that I called."

"I was able to visit Bradford Place. I was looking for something that would be more like home, and it was more like that. It wasn't like a nursing home. Then, for memory care, it was small, so the ratio of patients to caregivers was awesome. The rooms were nice, too. It was clean, and it didn't smell like a nursing home. The dining area was nice. They also had an outdoor garden kind of thing for the people."

"Revela at O'Fallon looked nice. It's far better than the other place. It is relatively new. The dining room has a super high ceiling. They have a wing of apartments that are two stories, and you can overlook the dining room from the top part of the apartment wing for assisted living. It feels roomy, even though it's not a very big room. On the memory care side, they have a large living dining space. The staff members have been very helpful, but it's unfortunate because I don't think it's going to be the place we choose. The food was excellent. It was great. No pets in memory care though. There was a piano in the open area in the memory care and somebody was playing while I was there. A resident talked to us and she said she loved it there. I thought it was a great place to be. The people that were there were very pleased with it."

"My mother-in-law is moving here. They provide meals and she needed that. I thought she needed someone else to be there and help her in and out of the shower but she can actually bathe herself because their shower is a regular handicap shower so she probably won't have any trouble with it. As soon as we walked in the door, it's a beautiful place. It's roomy and airy. They took us on a tour and we saw the room that was available. It's been redone, it's beautiful, big and airy. It has big bay windows in it that made it really nice and homey. It also made it airy, you won't feel like you're closed in. We continued on and the facility was made into a big square so you can't really get lost, you just continue walking and you'll get to your room. Everything about it made me feel like I want to move in. It's a really, really nice facility. We're really happy and just overly impressed with everything. The activities and amenities were presented to us, they had them on a paper and we looked at the activities that they had and things going on. They told us that if she would want to go to Walmart or somewhere else, they had somebody with a van that takes whoever wants to go. They go places or take them to doctor appointments, it's all available for them. They're making their people feel like they're home away from home, for sure. They're not going to feel like they're closed in. It's definitely not like a nursing home and it's very, very nice."
