Willow Manor at Fairland

I went to Willow Manor at Fairland. What I liked best was the apartment. It was just what I was looking for in terms of size. It had the main things, the washer and dryer and two bedrooms, two baths, and the kitchen was nice. I'm a cook, so I enjoyed the way the kitchen was laid out and how it overlooked the living room area because I guess it was just more open in a smaller place.

I have found a home, and I've moved in already. It's called Willow Manor at Fairland. It's wonderful. It's quiet. I don't have a balcony, and that was the only thing I wanted that I didn't get, but I have my own washer and dryer, which is wonderful. It's clean. The management is wonderful. They handle everything I've needed, and anything I've complained about they have fixed. My garbage disposal didn't work, and I called it and told them, and someone was up here within 20 minutes. The staff is perfect. It's independent living, so there's no food and no help. It's totally independent. We don't even have alarms in the bathroom. It's just like an apartment complex, so if you need help with anything this is not the place to go. If you want totally independent, this is the place to come. We do our own cooking, and everybody is independent. You buy your own food. You cook your own food. I think there's an emergency number if you need one. There are some people, I noticed, in the building that have private people coming to help them, but as far as them providing any help, there is no help. They have an activity maybe once a week. I haven't participated because I've been in and out. They have a walking club, I think, three days a week, and they get together and walk. But it's not like an assisted living place where they have normal activities every day. They have a couple of activities maybe once a week.

I did a tour of Willow Manor at Fairland and that was great. That was where I could see myself for the rest of my years. I liked the layout, the size of the room of the facility, and being a brand new one. It's just that they didn't have anything in my price range available when I applied. The staff was pleasant. They were brand new, some of the rooms had never been used. So, upkeep was fine, no one's ever been in them.
