I toured Hillside Senior Apartments, which is wonderful. They have apartments available, but they are very tiny. I really liked that development because utilities are included. It was just too small. I couldn't even imagine putting a dining room table in the area. It was really nice that utilities were included. It was only $30 a month for my pets, but they didn't have a washer and dryer in the units. It was just a laundry room. They have a lot of the same amenities. They had somebody teaching an exercise class, and that ended. They're trying to redo it again. I guess re-sign the contract or something. At the moment, they're still working on getting things going. I didn't know how long that stuff would be, like events off campus. They didn't have any of that going on yet, but other than that, it was a really nice place. The staff member was very knowledgeable. She'd only been there like nine months, but she was excellent. She showed us some apartments and the same kind of stuff.

Hillside Senior Apartments was pleasant. This is the first time I have ever been in an independent place, so I spoke with the property manager. It was a brief tour. I saw a two-bed-two-bath and a one-bed-one-bath, and both of them were very nice. It was fun to visit. The staff gave me a lot of information. It gave me an idea of what to expect for any other appointments that I will have, so I know what to ask. The staff who assisted me was excellent. She was wonderful. The rooms were surprisingly larger than I thought they would be. The two-bedrooms seemed very spacious. I could imagine myself living in a small space. The place I'm living in now is very big, and it's just too much to maintain, so the room size was fine. The apartment itself was very nice. I kind of like the idea of when you go out and go into another interior space. I'm starting to look like the idea of where the apartment is inside, and you walk out into a big hallway, but that's just a personal preference thing. Overall, it looks like a very pleasant facility. The only drawback is that it is so far from the community that I've come to know now.

I visited the independent living community of Hillside Senior Apartments. I like the cleanliness of it. I thought it was a very clean place. I like the people who work there because they are very helpful. It was also in a nice area, and I like that.

Hillside Senior Apartments is a small community. The residents I met seemed to be very nice and friendly. The management team seemed to be very efficient. I like the units themselves. They were very nice and they have a few upgraded amenities where they have marble countertops and updated appliances. The bathrooms are nice, too. My only complaint is that they don't have the most closet space, but they say they have extra storage. So, that kind of compensates for that. It's a great community. The staff is excellent. It was very clean. The structure seemed to be fine. It used to be an old hotel that they had converted into senior living, and it's very nice, but they don't have an elevator service in all the buildings. They just have it in a couple of buildings. The layout was nice. The size of the rooms were a little small, but they're about the standard size of a one-bedroom senior apartment.

I just moved into Hillside Senior Apartments. I pay $1160 a month. That's for independent living. All utilities are included. It's a nice place. It used to be a hotel at one time. The only thing I disagree with is they need more maintenance men. They only have one maintenance man here. The resident manager and the receptionist are good at trying to help everybody get situated, but they only have one guy who takes care of everything. The people in the office are trying to help and they try their best. Sometimes on holidays, they have things going on and they supply food for those things. They do activities sometimes maybe four or five times out of the month. They've got bingo, cookouts, dancing classes, and yoga classes. They have a gym room.

I was in Hillside Senior Living. It was OK. I just didn't like the idea of having to go to the laundry room. In the winter, you had a hard time, all the ice and snow, and that's the only thing that I didn't like. But everything was right there. You had the bathroom right there, the bedroom, and there's a living room and the kitchen. It wasn't the place, it was just me. There was always somebody there to help you. I liked the staff. They had someone that delivered lunches for a while, but then they stopped. It was a nice, clean place. They kept it clean. They have a lot of activities. It was just closed at that time when I was there. They had a room for exercise, and they had a laundry facility, and they had a bar where they could watch TV, listen to music, and then they had a computer. They had a real big, huge courtyard. You can go barbecue, you can relax, it's just huge, with benches.

I do live here and as far as I know this is independent living…. I have had no major problems and minor problems have been taken care of immediately and my interaction with staff has been fine….this is an over 62 community and I find that the people who complain the most are the really “crabby” ones to start with!!!!!!They complain about everything!!!!! I went to Hillside Senior Living Apartments at Gaithersburg and I wasnt happy with the way that they treated me there. I wasnt happy with it at all. The apartments were small, and the living rooms were very small. They give you a free storage area other than your apartment. I didn't like the layout/the way the apartment was set up. The walk-in closet was in your bathroom, and I didn't like that. They weren't as nice as these other people. I also they didn't like the way they conducted business.
