I chose The Suites at Sugar Mill Point for my mother because it was extremely clean. Every person that worked there when we were touring stopped what they were doing, introduced themselves, and thanked us for coming, and they did the same when my mother came, and that's what I was looking for, that kind of caring and contact. You can sit at the table with the residents, but they prefer you not to be there at mealtime. They place them with other people to help them become more social. It's just something that they're doing with the individuals there and that's the only thing they ask at that time. The other thing that I loved about this place is that you can come any time. If you wanted to spend the night, you have to be there before 10:00 p.m. Other than that, you can go any time. There are no reserved hours or anything. I like the openness. They had no concern with you being in and out at any time of the day or night. She's in memory care, and they have small units. They have eight people in a unit. My sisters said that mom told them that they were singing songs that she knew. They had people playing and they were all in there singing. They were all the same price everywhere we went, and there were so many better things about this particular facility than the others that I visited, like being able to come any time to visit. I was happy that they had some scheduled things like eating for social activity with others, that they did not want you to be a part of, because that means that they are thinking about them being able to adjust in a community of people. She has a private room, and it's an actual room and not just a hospital bed. If we want to go and visit with her, we have a place that we can go that has seating, that we can sit down and visit with her. It's a lot of money, but it's worth it the way they care for her. I don't have anything that I could say that is negative. She adjusted so well. She's always talking to other people and interacting. They don't allow them to just go to their room. They have them together, they do activities with them together, and there's more control over what's going on.

I brought my husband to the day program during his illness of Alzheimer's. All of the staff was caring, professional, and went over and beyond to make he and I very comfortable during his time spent with them. I also have several friends with loved ones who reside at The Suites. They also have nothing but high praise for the facility and the staff.

My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 5 years ago. He moved into The Suites @ Sugar Mill Point in May 2012. The wonderful staff at The Suites were unbelievably helpful with his transition. His "apartment" is spacious, modern and beautiful. He is so well taken care of, and we now have such a sense of relief. Everyone, from the administrative staff to the nursing staff, treat him with love and respect, as if he is their own family. We could NOT be more satisfied with the Suites @ Sugar Mill Point. Dealing with a difficult disease like Alzheimer's, it's wonderful to know there are such beautiful and caring people to help.

I recently visited The Suites at Sugar Mill Point as a prospective assisted living facility for my uncle. I have been to several retirement homes with various relatives over the years and I have never seen such a place as this. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and efficient in answering our many questions during multiple visits by several family members. The room was freshly carpeted, painted in new tut one style, and will meet his needs for years to come. We did not find a chance to taste the quality of food, however, residents had no complaints about that. The staff also told us about extra care of patients through nearby hospital. The area is neat and clean, parking place is also available inside the campus. Security is also one of the priorities and administration is keen to ensure all security measures. I met few residents and they described the atmosphere friendly and home like. After seeing how the residents are treated here, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs an assisted living apartment in this area.
