"My husband was a resident of Trustwell Living at Terrebonne Place. We were very satisfied with his stay, but it just wasn't the lifestyle for him, so we brought him home. However, for respite, it would be great. He was very happy with the care, the facility, the food, and the atmosphere. Everything was great. He went there with the intention of being a full-time resident, and he stayed for two months, but he wasn't thriving. The facility was very clean and well-kept. The care needed was well provided. The people were friendly and professional. We couldn't ask for better. There were lots of entertainment, field trips, and outings. They were easy to work with. He could come and go as he needed with the family. We checked him out for two to three days at a time and brought him back. Everything was great. There were meals available to the family for a minimal amount of money. The food was excellent. My husband didn't participate in the activities, but I observed the other residents, and it was very nice. It was a little pricey, but it was the going rate."

"I really liked The Oaks of Houma. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful. Nothing was out of place. The people are not distressed. There are a lot of visitors and families coming in and out, so it was very homey. "

"I chose The Suites at Sugar Mill Point for my mother because it was extremely clean. Every person that worked there when we were touring stopped what they were doing, introduced themselves, and thanked us for coming, and they did the same when my mother came, and that's what I was looking for, that kind of caring and contact. You can sit at the table with the residents, but they prefer you not to be there at mealtime. They place them with other people to help them become more social. It's just something that they're doing with the individuals there and that's the only thing they ask at that time. The other thing that I loved about this place is that you can come any time. If you wanted to spend the night, you have to be there before 10:00 p.m. Other than that, you can go any time. There are no reserved hours or anything. I like the openness. They had no concern with you being in and out at any time of the day or night. She's in memory care, and they have small units. They have eight people in a unit. My sisters said that mom told them that they were singing songs that she knew. They had people playing and they were all in there singing. They were all the same price everywhere we went, and there were so many better things about this particular facility than the others that I visited, like being able to come any time to visit. I was happy that they had some scheduled things like eating for social activity with others, that they did not want you to be a part of, because that means that they are thinking about them being able to adjust in a community of people. She has a private room, and it's an actual room and not just a hospital bed. If we want to go and visit with her, we have a place that we can go that has seating, that we can sit down and visit with her. It's a lot of money, but it's worth it the way they care for her. I don't have anything that I could say that is negative. She adjusted so well. She's always talking to other people and interacting. They don't allow them to just go to their room. They have them together, they do activities with them together, and there's more control over what's going on."

"My dad has been in Claiborne at Thibodaux and it's been excellent. It's all one floor and he has a porch where he puts and feeds his bird. He also has lawn furniture outside, which he likes, and they have a resident who plays piano music for them. This is a brand-new facility, so it's all new, modern, and very nice. They have a club room with a big fireplace and a full kitchen set where families can come in. Some places will have association meetings there too, because it's private by itself. It's very nice. They have Facebook where they show constantly what they're doing, and we even see what the memory care side is doing, and they have a coordinator that does all that. When we first went in, they had the price higher. It was $4,792 a month, but this past month they only charged $4,630. It's still pricey, but I guess it's because it's new. Right now, we're trying to get assistance for him, but everything is just topnotch there. It's just expensive and it's not their fault. It is what it is."
