I toured Trustwell Living at Terrebonne Place. The only thing that I realized was just their setup. The rooms were small, but the facilities were nice. So I like the facility. I like the outdoor space and even the indoor space. It was nice. It's just the rooms are so small for someone coming from a home into that kind of facility. There's a little place that they call a library, but it's like an offshoot of a hallway. It's just like two bookcases and then two computers right there. They do have a program, I guess, with the library itself. The thing I liked, though, was that even though the rooms were small, there was an area that had a full-size kitchen. So if you wanted to cook, you could still cook. There's a nice big courtyard where you could do gardening. The lady who took me around was great.

The tour I had with Trustwell Living at Terrebonne Place was very well received. The facility was clean. It was friendly and family oriented. The residents were comfortable. The apartments were well maintained and adequate for somebody with a wheelchair. Their inner courtyard was the draw point for me, because the residents are able to go out to the courtyard outside, but it is enclosed by the building, so it is safe for them not to be able to either leave or be disturbed by somebody that is not from the facility. I also like their security measures. Nobody can get in or out of the facility without proper identification or a code to get in. Residents can leave, but only when it is permissible. In other words, if their mental abilities are limited, they can't leave without anybody knowing. This facility has what they call studio apartments. It's like one big room with handicapped bathrooms, which have walk-in showers, wheelchair-accessible vanities, and grab rails all over the place. They have small refrigerators and microwaves in the apartments. They have one-bedroom apartments, which are a little bit bigger, and are really good for couples or friends that want to share in the cost of the apartments, and they are reasonably priced. They have activities there. They have a beauty salon that is accessible by appointment. They have a chapel and services every Tuesday. They have bingo nights, a live band that comes in once a week (usually on a Tuesday) to entertain the guests, like a little party or whatever, and they are getting ready to do a Mardi Gras tableau next week, I think. The staff is all friendly and outgoing.

The tour at Terrebonne Place was thorough and extensive. It was a nice place. It seemed really good. The staff was very nice and informative. She took all the questions I had and answered them as well as she could. She gave me more information. The one-bedrooms were nice. They were kind of spacious. The studio was a studio, but that's what's to be expected. The dining area looked like a restaurant. They didn't have anything going on at the time I was taking the tour, but I saw the calendar. They had some residents sitting in the common area watching TV. Everyone seemed really nice, and I liked the layout and the courtyards. I liked the fact that you can have a dog because my mom does have a dog, and they just seemed really helpful.

What I liked the most about Terrebonne Place was that it was very clean, friendly, and had lots of things to do for the elderly. They have a band that they listen to. There are different games they can play in a specific area, and where they can hang out together too and have fun. The lady who gave the tour was wonderful. There's a patio, where they barbecue and play other games.
