Both of my parents were at this facility for 2+ years before their passing. I was generally happy with the service that both got. I found the manager receptive to requests and questions. Concerns were addressed quickly and personally,

My husband has been here for 2 years. I find the staff very helpful and caring. The rooms are clean, no bad odor. They look for ways to improve the residents quality of life. Lots of social activities and a nice outdoor space. My husband enjoys the food.

The rooms are large. They (the rooms) get cleaned about once a week. The food is bad, and I mean really bad. The kitchen staff may or may not even bring you something to eat. Want a hot breakfast? Good luck. Been here a few weeks and have yet to have found a warm egg. The CNAs are 50/50... Half do a fine job and the other half do the bare minimum to pass the twelve-hour shift. only met 2 of the "higher-ups"... Boy, they really seem to care about the place, but nothing changes. this place could be good, it just isn't.

I loved this facility! The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly. I appreciated that the nurses always answered our questions and didn’t seem agitated. I only hear positive things about the food and I discovered they actually have a certified chef! I would highly recommend Sandpiper for your love one.

Everything is great but they never answer the phone, and when they do they never have people return calls. I tried today and now it keeps telling me the phone number is no longer in use. Besides that they are wonderful people!

We placed mom at Sandpiper Bay Health Care Center. It's a good place. The staff members really do a good job. She is in a shared room. It is average in size, like a hospital room, but it's clean. The food is pretty good. If they don't like what they're having, they have other options.

I was only at Sand Piper Bay for 5 days but that was far too long for me. Fortunately I was able to wheel myself in a wheelchair and didn't need to count on anyone there for anything but water and medication, That was bad enough. My water did not get refreshed for over 24 hours, and my medication was wrong. When I told the nurse about it she actually yelled at me. The food was horrible - I don't mean just bad but not edible and I'm not a particular person. I was supposed to receive PT but didn't until I told them they were not providing me with any services that I could not get at home. I got very ill and had to be taken to the ER from SPB. They were short staffed most of the time - esp on the weekend, I cannot recommend it.

This is not a good place to bring a family member. The inspection ratings speak for themselves. The facility is so understaffed and have so many patients to take care of that nobody gets the attention they deserve. This place smells of urine. The staff is rude and if you complain about care, nothing is done to rectify the problem. This place is poorly managed.

First off let me just say the nurses obviously dont care about the residents. The CNA do all the work and when the CNA arent around the nurses stand around and let the residents light blink for a long time till a CNA comes to take care of it. There was a resident who needed assistance in the restroom and the nurses let her sit on the toliet for about 30 minutes. She started banging on the wall till finally someone went to assist her. This place is clean but the staff are terrible with responding the the residents, its like they dont care. I WOULD never recommend anyone to send a loved one to this nursing facility . They will get neglected.

Nursing homes can be scary places. I regularly visit and volunteer at nursing homes and different kinds of care facilities. Sandpiper was clean, the activities were organized and they have large open family style areas for gatherings of all kinds. The activity directors plan events that residents enjoy. They always have enough helpers around so that I am comfortable interacting with residents. I particularly enjoy when I sing at Sandpiper. They have a little chapel with a piano that opens to a larger area to accommodate more people. I have eaten with the residents and the food is very good. They take care to see to the needs of those who have special diets. Even sugar free ice cream for diabetics! I had to visit with the social worker at the center once because I had a concern about a resident and she listened carefully to me and took action immediately. I really appreciated that.

Nurssing home is located on the west side of Wichita, easy access from freeway. Not crazy about this facility. It has the standard nursing home menu of services, but one thing I notice is there is always staff turnover. I know that all nursing facilities have have staffing issues, but this one seems to have even more than the average for the industry. That indicates problems in my book!
