Senior Suites of Urbandale

My mom has been a resident of Senior Suites of Urbandale for a month now. It is great. It's a small community, if that's what you're looking for, and the staff there has been nothing but helpful and kind to her. She has a two-bedroom apartment. I'm not sure what exactly their activities are, but I know they have them. The food is very good. They have a TV room with a fireplace, an outside courtyard with a flower area, and a library.

My wife has moved into the Senior Suites of Urbandale. She's in memory care. She seems to be adapting to her surroundings. They tell me that she's being calm and pleasant. They like her company. When I visited, she was clean and didn't have any odors. She was in good shape and in good hands. Her room was clean and bright. There was a large window there. She has a nice room. One day, when my wife and I were getting things arranged just visiting, they brought a meal to us in the entry area and both of us ate. It was good food. The dining area is typical for an institution like that. I know they have different activities. I don't know physically what they do to keep her active other than just walking around. It was the cheapest I could find. I've had good responses from all of the staff that I've had contact with. I'm still learning what they're offering and what she is participating in.

Looking after Mom

I cannot say enough about the quality of care and staff at this facility. Mom exceeded our capacity to care for her in our home, and a relative recommended Senior Suites of Urbandale. We spoke with the staff, toured the facility, and made a decision to place her in their Veranda care facility. The staff there, regardless of the hour we visited, was always so very caring to the residents (not just Mom), they treat their residents like their own family. The facility was always neat, clean and the staff were always engaged, whether in caring for or providing activities for the residents. If you're looking for a place for a loved one where you can have peace of mind knowing they're in great hands, choose Senior Suites of Urbandale. For the degree of care provided, they are an exceptional value!

We went to Senior Suites of Urbandale. The efficiencies and one-bedrooms I toured were nice. The guy that showed me around was nice; however, I didn't meet as many of the staff as in the other places I visited. It was clean.

This assisted living facility has been visited by me for searching some better place for my great grandmother. Right from the outset, I found the atmosphere neat and tidy. The reception staff was very helpful in explaining me all the facilities being offered there. Fully furnished rooms, central TV room, kitchen, laundry, transportation etc are few of the facilities available here. Rates are relatively high though but quality of food etc is better as conveyed to me by a resident. People are happy living there and community is a home like atmosphere in general. The staff looked very busy in undertaking routine tasks. The residents have lot many things like chess, snooker etc to keep themselves busy. One of the residents told me that all special occasions are celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm. I forgot to confirm about the pets, though I did not see any. Overall, the facility is well laid out and home like touch persists. I liked the facility but i would first bring my great grandmother here before formally opting to make her stay. I would recommend it for anyone interested to stay here.
