"I toured Edencrest at Pleasant Hill. It's new, and the administrator who took me on the tour seemed like she knew what she was doing and had things in mind to do as far as the future goes. She had some good ideas. The rooms were very nice and comparable to any other room I've seen. They're about the same size and have a nice, roomy bathroom. They just showed me a model. She told me that they just got a new chef and that he was good."

"Holland Farms Senior Living was nice. It was almost brand-new. It was only there for two years or so. The staff members were all nice. They were great. The building overlooked a nice little park in the back with a big pond in the middle. It was good that you are not staring at buildings. They also had walking paths that pass the park. They provide transportation if they want to go to church or somewhere. They also had a library that was connected to the Norwalk Public Library. It looks like somebody from there would bring books in and stuff if you requested them, like once a week or once every couple of weeks. They had rooms to do activities, they had a puzzle room where they could do puzzles and stuff, and play cards if they wanted to. We saw a suite and a 1-bedroom, they were a decent size and they had full size in their rooms too. There's plenty of closet space in the suite, they could have a nice big closet."

"My father moved into Edencrest at Siena Hills, and we're very happy with it. The staff is very caring. They have trivia and different activities. My dad has been eating their food. His room is very clean. They have several areas that can be utilized by the family, like a library, main dining area, and a common area."

"The interior decorating at the common areas of Bickford of West Des Moines was very nice. The memory care's billing amount was much clearer than the assisted living. It was nice that they had handicap bathrooms and temperature control. It seemed like a very homey area. I liked the memory care unit. The dining room was a very comfortable-looking place. "

"We toured Edencrest at Tuscany for my in-laws. Our overall experience was just what we expected. We met with Kevin, and he explained and showed us what it was all about. He also showed us two options that were available and told us about the 2-bedrooms. Both options were wonderful. It was a nice facility, brand new. I liked all of the services that they were going to provide. It made me feel like they would be safe. Even though they were in independent living, they would provide the call button if they needed something right away. It was not free of charge. But, in the end, that made me feel secure, even though they were going to be independent living. The rooms had lots of light. They had a beautiful balcony off of the living room and sliders that led to the balcony. The kitchen was very roomy and would be easy for them to navigate around even for those with issues with walking or a walker. Their kitchen was just about as big as my kitchen in our current home, so, it was very nice. The closet space was roomy with plenty of room for their personal items. It had an in-service laundry room that was right above the kitchen. It was like the brochure says, beautiful."

"We moved my mom here a month ago and I can't say enough wonderful things about Independence Village! I was so worried about how she would adjust after living on her own so long but she's doing better than ever! She loves the staff and they all know her and are so considerate and caring! She loves joining all the activities. They plan all kinds of things such as excercise, movies, crafts, games, therapy animals, and several outings each week that mom can do if she wants. They even had a fair and invited resident's families this last weekend. She enjoys the food, especially the fresh fruit. She loved the hot dogs from the fair! I love she is getting excercise, socialization, nutritious meals and staff are there to help her if needed. From our experience they strive to make the most out of the 1440 minutes each day dedicated to their residents! We are very glad mom lives here and want to thank you Independence Village for joining our family with yours!"

"We like MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Jordan Creek. It was well-appointed and bright, and the atmosphere was good. The staff knew everyone that we met. They were getting ready for a bus ride. MorningStar at Jordan Creek is one of our favorites. There were more staff around. They do movie night, they were doing a popcorn thing when we were there, and it was friendly. The rooms were a good size and decent depending on how much money you wanted to spend, but for the smallest one, it was a decent size. The menu looked really good. The heavy menu is at noon and then they do it lighter menu at night for the memory care to try to get them settled down. The level of care seemed good. The nurses seemed to know their patients."

"We went to Rock Creek Senior Living twice and we had a wonderful experience visiting it. The staff was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and followed up many times. It's very clean. We looked at a few different room options and sizes and mom found that she would prefer a bedroom unit. She liked it. It would be plenty for what she would need. We had a meal there and it was delicious. They served meals pretty much in the dining room, but you can also come down at any time during the day or night if you're hungry and get something off of an ala carte area. They had daily activities, indoor and outdoor. They had a gardening area, game rooms, and a movie area. They would also take their residents shopping, to movies, or bowling. So, there were all kinds of activities. She liked the atmosphere there and she thought that it was someplace she would like to be."

"I like that everything is very modern and up to date at Edencrest Kettlestone. The staff is very good. My dad says the food is pretty good, too. The place is very clean. They have a library, a courtyard, an outdoor space, a weight room and an activity room. Overall, we chose this community for my dad because of its price, cleanliness and proximity to where I live."

"I toured Perry Lutheran Homes Spring Valley Campus. It looked like a nice and clean facility. I wasn't as familiar with it, but I think they were really good. The staff were really good. They had a courtyard. It wasn't quite as nice as the other place. In terms of cleanliness, the hallways and the main areas were very nicely kept. It's also right next to a hospital."
