"My brother has moved into Wesley on Grand. The community is welcoming and well-organized. They're very interested in his level of functioning. They did a good assessment when he was brought in by the nurse to make sure that he was being properly cared for in the right unit. They had obtained his medical information and had conversations with his family members. They were very informative to the family members as well as to my brother, so it was a very smooth transition. My brother settled in his room very nicely. There are still pictures to be hung and things to be done like that, but he has the basic needs. He is to get on his walker to the dining room for meals. He has a good place for his bed, his recliner, and his TV, and he can get easily into his bathroom. The bathroom is very handicapped accessible and is good for his care. He is doing well. My brother is very happy with the food, too. They have the flexibility to eat within a big enough period of time that he feels like he doesn't have to be there at a specific time. Breakfast is between 6:30 and 9:00, so there's enough time to accommodate early risers or late risers and that kind of thing. There is also food that can be purchased on their account that is in a refrigerated area. So should he miss breakfast, there are things available, too. He feels very good about the quality of the food. He said that it is very tasty and good, so we're thankful for that. In terms of location, it is about eight blocks from my husband and me, so it's very convenient that way. And it's in the neighborhood of where my brother grew up."
