"Bickford of West Des Moines was very well kept up. Their staff was very professional and very accommodating. It was Taylor that gave me the tour. She was very helpful and followed up with me. She was very good. They had activities from bingo games to bowling. The list they had was very active and it would keep the residents very busy or at least attentive. The whole facility was very well kept up and very clean. It was a very nice presentation overall."

"We visited MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Jordan Creek. We just visited assisted living and didn't get into the memory care. We got a tour of the main facility there and I felt like they were a nice community. They had a cafeteria and nice common areas for food and people coming into the residence. It was a pretty good-sized facility. They had different areas like the one where they have their therapy. It looked like a nice and well-kept building. The people who worked there and the residents all seemed to be happy. The staff was good and the one who gave us the tour was nice. We got a chance to meet the director of the community, and she was nice. Out of all the ones that we visited, it was probably one of our favorites in the West Des Moines area."

"We have been extremely pleased with the friendly and caring staff. We visit our friend several times a week and the care is excellent. Room and laundry are kept clean and neat. Our friend is happier than she has been in years. There are a number of activities to engage residence and keep them active. Overall we highly recommend you consider this facility for your loved ones."

"I like everything about Edencrest at Siena Hills. It is an excellent facility. The staff was excellent. It's beautiful there, but the downside is the cost. The apartment was beautiful. Everything was brand new in it. The layout was excellent. One thing we were looking at was the bathroom, and it was laid out excellently. It had excellent handicapped accessibility. It was very nice. We did not go during lunchtime, so we weren't able to sample their food. However, when we left, they were serving dinner to their residents, and their dining room was filled, and what we could see of what people were having, looked great."

"The apartments are spacious. They have an executive chef, the food is good. There are numerous activities to join in."

"I toured Rock Creek Senior Living. They had 24-hour care. It looked like a nice, comfortable place. The room seemed a little small, but maybe that's just what they are for assisted living. Everyone was very friendly. The residents seemed comfortable and happy. They had physical therapy. They had rides. They had activities. They have meals. They had a beauty shop. The staff was very nice. The dining area was nice. They had a large eating area. It looked comfortable."

"My tour at Edencrest at The Legacy was very nice. Everything was pretty much included, like the laundry. They had a nice place to eat that's restaurant style and they'd come out to take your order. If you didn't like the special, you could order something else. They had their main area where did their exercises, it's set up like the main sitting area. They did trips, when we were visiting they just got back from taking a tour somewhere to look at the scenery. The room that I saw was a decent size, they have private rooms. They had a salon, it was a nice building. Everything seemed nice and kept up there."

"My parents have moved into Edencrest at Riverwoods. Everything is great. They are very helpful. There is good communication. They are making sure they are checking in with me and making sure my parents understand what's going on. The staff is good, and they check on them all the time. The rooms are comfortable. They are big enough for what my parents' need. They have bingo, music, and sightseeing. They keep them busy. The living atmosphere is good, clean, nice, and organized. In terms of value for money, it's basically the same everywhere. It's expensive no matter where you go, so it seems fair."

"The Holland Farms Senior Living facility is absolutely beautiful. As far as all the places that I went to, I really felt that the value of that particular place was awesome (compared to many of the other places). It's fresh and clean because it's brand new. It has many great things to offer. It has a beautiful park out back of the facility with walking and bicycle paths. The landscape around it is great, and the inside is very well done. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I've eaten out there twice, and the food was great. There's a fairly large menu to choose from, and the chef comes out and visits with you. It was a great experience."

"I toured Edencrest at Pleasant Hill. It's new, and the administrator who took me on the tour seemed like she knew what she was doing and had things in mind to do as far as the future goes. She had some good ideas. The rooms were very nice and comparable to any other room I've seen. They're about the same size and have a nice, roomy bathroom. They just showed me a model. She told me that they just got a new chef and that he was good."

"We visited the independent living community of Edencrest at Tuscany in Altoona. The facility itself was great, and the apartment that we were looking at actually had a nice balcony, which would have been nice. For activities, they combined independent living with assisted living. They're a very beautiful place to go to, but just a little further away from all of our kids when I want to see them, so we decided to go somewhere else. They have a one-on-one exercise area and underground parking. They're also newer, and the staff members were always very lovely."

"I had visited several times over the years. The place was always spotless. It had a very clean and neat rooms. Very large hallways, which was great. You would always see some elderly around. Wither it be playing cards, solving puzzles, or watching a group movie there always seemed to be something going on which is fantastic. I imagine it must get terrible boring without activates running all the time. The rooms where my grandparents stayed were huge. The also provided extremely large bathrooms which is always nice. The staff was always friendly. Every time I went they always seemed so happy to help out. (Of course they are paid to do this, but it was nice nonetheless) Overall the place was great. I always enjoyed visiting and when I end up retiring I would love to live in a place like that. "

"Bickford of Ames was a nice community, it felt good, but we just felt it was smaller. So, we didn't necessarily care for it that much, and it was more expensive also. And so that was something that I guess turned me off. They showed a one-bedroom, but the square foot I felt was too small compared to the other place. The staff was very friendly, very helpful. We checked out the kitchen and the restaurant there. They looked very good. They didn't have two floors, so there were more people crammed into one area, that's what it felt to me with it being just only one floor."
