"I will move into Cogir of Sonoma Senior Living. There was a wide-open common room, and some women were playing a card game, but for the most part, there was nobody in there, and that was fine because they were mostly out doing stuff, so that was one of the things that impressed me, that people were still very active. The common area was very nicely appointed and looked very comfortable. It would be a place where I would want to bring people or go in and sit by myself and relax. I went to a couple of places, and you were only allowed to put something on your door, like a wreath. I noticed that at Cogir of Sonoma, there are entry decorations on the floor, which is fine, going in the entry, and going towards your door. Somebody put out one of those butler statues and that kind of thing, and I like that. There's a little bit of flexibility. We were not there during the regular lunchtime serving time. So, it was around two o'clock, and the food was delicious. It was very good. Everybody around my table, kids and adults, ate it right up. The staff was over the top. She was good."

"I toured Atria Tamalpais Creek. I thought it was the best fit considering the activities and homey feel. It seemed like it was the best fit for my mother's personality. Her room is a typical studio with a small kitchenette. It has a high ceiling, a balcony with a view and trees, and a parking lot. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. We had lunch there. My mom was happy with that, it was not too fussy, and it's appropriate for where she's at right now."

"My friend and I went on a tour of Deer Park. We both liked the environment because everybody was independent. It seems like the people were friendly. They showed us their apartment. I think it was their number one so far and it was reasonable in cost. The dining area looked good. My friend might want to take that one, but she's not ready yet. The man who took us on a tour was very helpful. They had a beauty salon, an exercise room, a movie room, and a gathering room. They call it a bar area."

"AI took us on a tour with my mother-in-law and husband. Very nicely decorated, clean freshly remodeled rooms. We looked at both 1 and 2 BR apartments. The room chosen has a nice balcony with courtyard views. The food was delicious ordering off the menu. The Dining room staff were very friendly and considerate to my MIL requests for dietary restrictions. We could see they were interacting with other residents the same way. They offered extra help with move in needs. AJ was very helpful with the admission process and is great with follow up with any need or request we have. Thank you AJ."

"My dad liked Brookdale Paulin Creek a lot. The staff and the residents were all very friendly and welcoming. The tour was nice. The lady, Miro, was very, very kind, very thorough, and answered all of the questions. My parents were able to sit down and sample a meal and they were both very happy with the meal and the selection of food available. I, and the health aide that was with us, ate as well and everybody loved the food. The rooms were pretty large."

"I toured The Lodge at Piner Road. They were very organized. They had a very good sense of community there. They had by far the best-looking units of the three places that we looked at. The high ceilings really helped give it a sense of good space. It's a very good facility. The staff was very positive and very professional, too."

"Solstice Senior Living at Santa Rosa appeared to be too expensive for me, but it was very nice. Megan did a very good job of showing me the apartment and explained all the details of their facility. She took me down to the dining area and explained that they have a restaurant-type dining area where waiters come and take your order while you sit at the table. I didn't see the activities, but she explained that they did have all kinds of activities, and they had a bus service there that would take you to town. She did say they had organized activities, and they had a meeting room that people could use. The facilities were quite beautiful. That was probably the nicest of the places that I went to."

"I liked Drake Terrace. It was a smaller place and I think the employees have worked there a long time. The residents were friendly during the short time my husband was there. The food was really good. The staff was very good. I was very happy with them. Although the facility was not new, it was still nice."

"We were able to visit The Vincent. It was not a building that was converted, so I liked that it was built originally for seniors. The walls are soundproof. The food was excellent. The amenities are great. The staff members that we met were knowledgeable. They train their caregivers there at the facility. It's not a corporate facility, but they have everything a person could want. We actually left a deposit to hold a room, but the only problem with them is that the room is on the third floor. My friend has mobility issues, and so he is afraid of being on any floor in case there is an earthquake or a fire. He is afraid that he would not be able to get out of the building, and that's his only hesitation. I was going to call back to see if there was any chance that they would have a resident that wanted to move up to the third floor, and so my friend is definitely looking for a ground floor. They offer a discount on the community fee. The building had a very warm and natural feeling. The grab bars looked like chair molding around the walls. They had linen tablecloths and a full table setting service. Everything was just top-notch and clean. There is a library, and they have what's running in the theater now in their movie facility, so it's not old movies. At The Vincent, it was like eating in a restaurant. It was pizza day the day that we were there, and they had their own brick pizza oven to cook pizzas. To order from the menu, everything was fresh, and nothing frozen. It was a totally different experience."

"Diana was the one we worked with us here and she was phenomenal and so helpful. She gave great insights on how to help mom in the best way. Their amenities were outstanding. They had two 5-star restaurants and then another nice restaurant. They had snacks out that people could come and get at any time. So it wasn't just three routine meals. They were open all the time with snacks and if you wanted something extra, you could get it. You could either have the food taken to your room, like room service, or you could go to the restaurant. They had a happy hour in their general area so it was just phenomenal. It was luxury resort living. Diana showed us two studios and a one-bedroom. The studios were very nice with had very different layouts that would work well for anybody. On the first one that we walked down, I noticed that the kitchenette was a little bit further from the bedroom and the living area, which in our instance was a little bit of a walk, but for a regular person, it was just right there. The next studio was more of an all-inclusive. It was very clean. They had one that looked onto the courtyard in the center with all of its fountains and flowers, while the other one was secluded, like a parking lot kind of view that looked over the tennis courts and things like that. The one-bedroom was very spacious and very nice. They had very short hallways, so there was not a ton of walking and it's soundproof. You could be in the hallway and not hear any of the other residents' televisions or anything. It was well done."

"My visit to Berkshire was excellent. They took me to the room and personally guided me through everything. They talked to me and opened it up for questions, and they were very professional. The rooms were very nice and adequate for what the need is. They had dinners, and they had parties outside. It was some kind of celebration going on, and it looks like they did it quite nicely. It is all great. "

"My dad moved into Cogir of North Bay Senior Living. We've had a positive experience. We're happy with the place. They're taking care of my dad really well. They have all the meals, medicine, take care of medicine, and all the nursing. Everybody is really nice. They do housekeeping, laundry, everything. They have restaurant-style dining with different options every day. We haven't done any of them, but they have a big list of activities, quite a bit of activities every day, and they change often. They do movies, games, and trips to like a casino and to a museum, and things like that. They also take you to your doctors' appointments."

"I want to recognize the exceptional service at Cogir Vallejo Hills under Susan's leadership. After a measurement mistake with my storage shelving, Denice from management immediately assured me, "Misako, don't worry. We will take care of it." She coordinated with Albert from maintenance to re-measure, return incorrect shelves, and install proper ones. Having moved to Cogir Vallejo Hills five months ago, this experience confirmed I made the right choice. In any organization, mistakes happen—we're all human. What truly matters is how those issues are handled. Susan's team demonstrated exceptional care, compassion, and efficiency throughout this situation. I'm grateful to Susan, Denice, Albert, and the entire team for their dedication to resident satisfaction. This attentive service creates a community where residents feel valued and heard. m.m."

"I really liked Truewood by Merrill, Pinole. The only reason I wouldn't go there is it's a 35-minute drive from my family that lives in Berkeley and on the highway. It was beautiful. The staff was great. Everybody was very, very helpful and very willing to do whatever I wanted. They were wonderful. The rooms were very nice. They had beautiful two-bedrooms with big balconies. It was probably the nicest facility as far as being newer and offering so many things. The dining area and the living atmosphere were nice. They had parking. The rooms were lovely. Everything about it was great. They had lots of activities. As far as getting around, it was very convenient and the parking was close by. They had elevators, and it's easy to get to various places. It's compact enough to be easy."

"I'm at The Lodge at Glen Cove right now. I went to three communities, and The Lodge is the most modern, the most caring, has the most money invested in it, and it's the newest. And in addition to that, it's right on the water in Vallejo whereas the others are stuck in the woods somewhere, and there is no scenery whatsoever. In addition, the food is very good; I just came from breakfast. The waiters are very good. The front desk is very helpful. The security is very good. I could go on and on and on. I like it. They have a full activity calendar with music, games, and puzzles. Amanda, who is the activity director, and Tina, the assistant activity director, have been very helpful. That's something else that's important. They don't just have one activity director. They have an activity director and an assistant activity director so that it's available seven days a week. The same applies to maintenance. They have the head of maintenance (he's also in charge of the housekeeping) and then they have the assistant of the maintenance. Therefore, they're covering it for seven days, and they have to pay two employees, which is not cheap. Also, the parking is very good. There's a big parking lot. Even more than that, there are two buses that the community owns for outside activities, and in addition, a local public bus comes. The Lodge is very lively. In the other two places, the people were kind of sleepy. And I think that reflects on what's going on here. The value for money is better here than in the other two places but more expensive."

"While we were there on the tour, Hannah knew every resident we walked by, and she took the time to help them out while she was touring us around. She just had a lot of compassion. They gave us a couple of cannoli, and they were pretty good. They offered all kinds of activities throughout the day for the folks there. They have a salon, a movie theater, and an ice cream bar."
