"I will move into Cogir of Sonoma Senior Living. There was a wide-open common room, and some women were playing a card game, but for the most part, there was nobody in there, and that was fine because they were mostly out doing stuff, so that was one of the things that impressed me, that people were still very active. The common area was very nicely appointed and looked very comfortable. It would be a place where I would want to bring people or go in and sit by myself and relax. I went to a couple of places, and you were only allowed to put something on your door, like a wreath. I noticed that at Cogir of Sonoma, there are entry decorations on the floor, which is fine, going in the entry, and going towards your door. Somebody put out one of those butler statues and that kind of thing, and I like that. There's a little bit of flexibility. We were not there during the regular lunchtime serving time. So, it was around two o'clock, and the food was delicious. It was very good. Everybody around my table, kids and adults, ate it right up. The staff was over the top. She was good."

"I toured Atria Tamalpais Creek. I thought it was the best fit considering the activities and homey feel. It seemed like it was the best fit for my mother's personality. Her room is a typical studio with a small kitchenette. It has a high ceiling, a balcony with a view and trees, and a parking lot. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. We had lunch there. My mom was happy with that, it was not too fussy, and it's appropriate for where she's at right now."

"My friend and I went on a tour of Deer Park. We both liked the environment because everybody was independent. It seems like the people were friendly. They showed us their apartment. I think it was their number one so far and it was reasonable in cost. The dining area looked good. My friend might want to take that one, but she's not ready yet. The man who took us on a tour was very helpful. They had a beauty salon, an exercise room, a movie room, and a gathering room. They call it a bar area."

"AI took us on a tour with my mother-in-law and husband. Very nicely decorated, clean freshly remodeled rooms. We looked at both 1 and 2 BR apartments. The room chosen has a nice balcony with courtyard views. The food was delicious ordering off the menu. The Dining room staff were very friendly and considerate to my MIL requests for dietary restrictions. We could see they were interacting with other residents the same way. They offered extra help with move in needs. AJ was very helpful with the admission process and is great with follow up with any need or request we have. Thank you AJ."

"My dad liked Brookdale Paulin Creek a lot. The staff and the residents were all very friendly and welcoming. The tour was nice. The lady, Miro, was very, very kind, very thorough, and answered all of the questions. My parents were able to sit down and sample a meal and they were both very happy with the meal and the selection of food available. I, and the health aide that was with us, ate as well and everybody loved the food. The rooms were pretty large."

"I liked Drake Terrace. It was a smaller place and I think the employees have worked there a long time. The residents were friendly during the short time my husband was there. The food was really good. The staff was very good. I was very happy with them. Although the facility was not new, it was still nice."

"We were able to visit The Vincent. It was not a building that was converted, so I liked that it was built originally for seniors. The walls are soundproof. The food was excellent. The amenities are great. The staff members that we met were knowledgeable. They train their caregivers there at the facility. It's not a corporate facility, but they have everything a person could want. We actually left a deposit to hold a room, but the only problem with them is that the room is on the third floor. My friend has mobility issues, and so he is afraid of being on any floor in case there is an earthquake or a fire. He is afraid that he would not be able to get out of the building, and that's his only hesitation. I was going to call back to see if there was any chance that they would have a resident that wanted to move up to the third floor, and so my friend is definitely looking for a ground floor. They offer a discount on the community fee. The building had a very warm and natural feeling. The grab bars looked like chair molding around the walls. They had linen tablecloths and a full table setting service. Everything was just top-notch and clean. There is a library, and they have what's running in the theater now in their movie facility, so it's not old movies. At The Vincent, it was like eating in a restaurant. It was pizza day the day that we were there, and they had their own brick pizza oven to cook pizzas. To order from the menu, everything was fresh, and nothing frozen. It was a totally different experience."

"Diana was the one we worked with us here and she was phenomenal and so helpful. She gave great insights on how to help mom in the best way. Their amenities were outstanding. They had two 5-star restaurants and then another nice restaurant. They had snacks out that people could come and get at any time. So it wasn't just three routine meals. They were open all the time with snacks and if you wanted something extra, you could get it. You could either have the food taken to your room, like room service, or you could go to the restaurant. They had a happy hour in their general area so it was just phenomenal. It was luxury resort living. Diana showed us two studios and a one-bedroom. The studios were very nice with had very different layouts that would work well for anybody. On the first one that we walked down, I noticed that the kitchenette was a little bit further from the bedroom and the living area, which in our instance was a little bit of a walk, but for a regular person, it was just right there. The next studio was more of an all-inclusive. It was very clean. They had one that looked onto the courtyard in the center with all of its fountains and flowers, while the other one was secluded, like a parking lot kind of view that looked over the tennis courts and things like that. The one-bedroom was very spacious and very nice. They had very short hallways, so there was not a ton of walking and it's soundproof. You could be in the hallway and not hear any of the other residents' televisions or anything. It was well done."

"My visit to Berkshire was excellent. They took me to the room and personally guided me through everything. They talked to me and opened it up for questions, and they were very professional. The rooms were very nice and adequate for what the need is. They had dinners, and they had parties outside. It was some kind of celebration going on, and it looks like they did it quite nicely. It is all great. "

"I want to recognize the exceptional service at Cogir Vallejo Hills under Susan's leadership. After a measurement mistake with my storage shelving, Denice from management immediately assured me, "Misako, don't worry. We will take care of it." She coordinated with Albert from maintenance to re-measure, return incorrect shelves, and install proper ones. Having moved to Cogir Vallejo Hills five months ago, this experience confirmed I made the right choice. In any organization, mistakes happen—we're all human. What truly matters is how those issues are handled. Susan's team demonstrated exceptional care, compassion, and efficiency throughout this situation. I'm grateful to Susan, Denice, Albert, and the entire team for their dedication to resident satisfaction. This attentive service creates a community where residents feel valued and heard. m.m."

"Healdsburg was great. I liked the fact that the people were honest. I also liked the cleanliness of the facility, the attention that was given to the residents, and that the people are caring and compassionate. The food is great. They also have a garden where they incorporate some it into their food program. They have chickens and goats so that my husband can look out the window and see the animals (which is wonderful because we're from a farm here)."

"My overall tour experience with Springfield Place was very nice. They were very cordial. We had lunch, and we looked at an apartment, and it was very impressive. The layouts were quite nice. The surroundings were quite nice. The ambiance was good. I think they have 24-hour assisted gyms, community activities, and outside activities. They're very good. Everything is very good. The main attraction there was their restaurant. They have a very nice restaurant, but it was way too much for us. It was gourmet. The staff were nice. We were escorted by a salesperson, and they were always good. We had lunch there and it was very good. It was excellent, but way too much for us. They had like a three- or four-course lunch, and normally we eat a sandwich or a soup for lunch. They had dinner five-course meals, and normally we would have one plate. Breakfast was full service of sausage and eggs, and we normally eat a bowl of cereals, so it was not us. Some people would like that though. "

"My apartment at Valley Orchard has been home for over two years and I couldn’t live in a happier place. The staff is extremely caring and there is generally no turnover. Even the high school and college age dining room servers stay employed here until they move out of Petaluma. They know you by name and remember your preferences . There are plenty of extra activities like bingo and bocce ball in addition to musical entertainment, exercise classes, bus trips for shopping, restaurant dining and picnics. But one of my favorite places is the garden featuring raised bed planters, bird feeders, patio chairs and a quiet place to watch the birds. If a shady spot is desired the front porch has lots of comfortable chairs and a view of the water fountain feature. Every apartment has a view of the redwood trees that line the perimeter. The grounds and the interior of the building are well maintained, quiet and peaceful. The food is quite healthy with several choices at each meal and seconds if you are still hungry. I love working on jigsaw puzzles and keep one going on a small table outside the beauty parlor. This place is considered an independent living situation. If you find yourself needing extra help, you can hire care givers just as you would if still living at your home. Dining room meals can be delivered to your door. When you consider the great housekeeping service and the free laundry facilities in addition to the food service, free scheduled bus transportation, planned activities and friendly residents you just can’t beat the reasonable rent. "Sonoma Hills Retirement is very pleasant. There were lots of lights and lots of windows, which I liked. It just didn't strike me as institutional or anything like that. It was like a very nice hotel. It's comfortable, too. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. She led us around, and we had lunch there. They had a very nice dining room, and the food was very good. The staff members were just excellent. There seemed to be a lot of activities. And in talking about the staff, they have all been there for a long time. We were drawn to Sonoma Hills mainly because of the location. To me, it's part of a neighborhood. It's just integrated nicely. It's not like a big, tall building. It's just one level, and the landscaping is nice. You can walk anywhere from there. The location was important to us. So we were very happy that Sonoma Hills just had all that we needed."

"Spring Lake Village was fantastic. My mother did not choose that place because she thought it was too big, and you have to pay a big sum of money up front. I wish she had gone there in spite of the cost. They're really not more expensive than anybody else, but you have to pay a lot of money up front. The apartments were beautiful, and there was a big exercise room, a meeting room, and a library. I visited it before COVID, so I don't know their condition now. It's a little far away from town. The dining area was very nice, and the food was good."

Korina is also very accessible for any follow-up questions you may have. An old co-worker of mine has already moved to Friends House, and is extremely happy living in the Friends House community."
