I live in Brookdale Paulin Creek and I have been here for four years now. I have no problems. It is a very excellent location and the services are good. I haven't found anything that I would complain about. I don't think I would have stayed this long if I had not liked it. The staff is very nice, I like the servers. I like what they have to offer here for transportation when we have to go to a doctor. Because of the problem with the virus, we have been in quarantine. Sometimes I don't like what's for breakfast, so I go ahead and call in and then I get what I want. The food is fine. The facility is very nice, I like the second floor. I couldn't get a 2-bedroom but what I have is fine for one person. The activities were very nice during the summer, they're trying to keep us happy. The person, who is in charge, is good. The price is high, but we have a lot of things that we are offered. I'm retired from court, so I can make it, but not everybody else can make it.

I toured Brookdale Paulin Creek. We like their location, the gardens, the pool, and the hot tub. They had rose gardens. So for me, being able to spend a lot of time outdoors is very nice, and that's a big attraction for me. There's a communal washer/dryer situation where they'll do laundry for you, or you can do your own if you choose, but they'll do your linens and things. They also have a refrigerator and probably a microwave. What struck me was that they understand how independent living becomes important to people as they age, and for the reasons why, they knew their clientele very well. They were just very kind and helpful. Brookdale Paulin Creek seemed to have a more flexible plan for eating like you could get food any time of the day if you missed a meal. They're clean, but their carpet needs to be replaced.

The staff at Brookdale Paulin Creek seemed to be very caring and very friendly. The surroundings, and the aesthetics, were very decorated. It was very clean. There were nice aromas in the rooms. We were there on a Saturday morning where they had coffee and Danish in the lounge. I think there were boards around and notifications for their weekly activities. They had many activity rooms, lounges, reading areas, libraries, and little writing nooks. It was very inviting for them to just be able to travel around and occupy their time in many ways. We were accommodated very well. We had an open invitation to have a meal there prior to our tour, but we had to be somewhere by 1:00 so we didn't do it.

I toured Brookdale Paulin Creek. The grounds and the staff were great, but it was more expensive. Everything about it, including its proximity to places, was good. The upkeep of the place was great. The apartments were comparable. I saw the exercise room, the meeting rooms, and the dining room.

Brookdale Paulin Creek was a very nice facility and a good location. I visited the memory care and they had a good room set up where it's a shared room, but there are two separate bedrooms at least. They do sightseeing tours, as well as games and music, and things like that. The person I met was very knowledgeable and very pleasant.

I toured Brookdale Paulin Creek. I saw the whole place, but memory care was my principal interest. We went to the closed ward, and I got a chance to tour that and see the rooms. They were infinitely better than what I'd seen at the other place. The rooms for the people in memory care were suites. There were two rooms comprising the suite. They had one shared bathroom, but it was part of the suite. Whereas in the other place, it was out of the hallway somewhere. I thought the suites were reasonably spacious. When a person is in that state of mind, it's difficult to know how they might respond to a place that is too big or too small, but I found it certainly adequate. The grounds were lovely. It had a courtyard and gardening as well. I wasn't interested in a meal, but I saw the dining area, and it was spotless. In this place, everything was spotless, and the tables were all very nicely set. It looked like a first-class restaurant. They take residents out on bus trips. They have concerts. People who are pianists or harpists come in on occasion and perform for them. They also have a hobby craft program, or something like that.

Brookdale Paulin Creek is a large facility and while we toured it, it was a very nice facility as well. They had all the things that my mom would need for assisted living, and they were affordable, but the community itself is too large for my liking to place my mom in. The person who gave us the tour was wonderful. She was very helpful. Her name is Karen. The rooms are clean and appropriate-sized. We only looked at one-bedrooms and studios and both of them were fine for my mom's needs. We tried their food, and it was delicious. For me, the atmosphere was a little busy because the community is rather large. I just felt there was just too much going on for my mom's needs. They had exercise classes, art classes and games, and all kinds of things that elderly adults can do in a community to socialize.

I visited Brookdale Paulin Creek, it's a nice place. The people seemed happy inside the dining room. I didn't see a lot of activity, there was a lot of construction going on. Staff took me around, he was knowledgeable but he didn't do any direct contact with the people, but maybe that's COVID-related. I also got to meet the nursing staff. He was nice and he had good information, it just didn't seem as personal to me, or they weren't as connected as the other facility. Nobody was out and about, they were all at lunch. So I didn't get to see any interactions, like their activities and stuff. I'd love to have seen some activities. I got to see the activity room, it was small. And I got to see the outdoors, but it was wet because of the rain. I got to see their little living rooms as well. The rooms were nice and they were nice sizes. It's all under construction and was being remodeled. It wasn't big and wide open, it was little small alcoves, with furniture and stuff like that. So it was more like being in a little home. It's located just within a mile of two hospitals to and very close to a shopping mall.

I toured Brookdale Paulin Creek. I found it to be an incredibly well-organized, beautiful, and clean place. The tour was very nice. The person who did the tour with me was extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots of information. Overall, it was wonderful and it was a really good experience. They do painting, they have bingo nights, and various kinds of exercises for them. I saw the library with lots of books. They also mentioned a salon and an exercise room.

Brookdale Paulin Creek was dirty. The apartment they wanted to put my husband in was supposed to be looking out onto a green space, but instead, it looked out onto another building. The people were unfriendly and uncommunicative, and I would not put anyone in there. I lost about $7,000 when I walked out of that place. I will never, ever, ever go back there again. That place was bad. They treat the people like cattles.

Brookdale Paulin Creek would be good access for me, from where I live, and it's centrally located in Santa Rosa. So, my mom is going to be surrounded by the hospital and medical groups that she might need. The person who gave the tour was very professional, very thoughtful, and willing to take the time necessary. He made a follow-up and was again very professional, straightforward, and no surprises. The dining area seemed very open and wasn't too noisy. There's enough space between tables. The room that she secured is a one-bedroom and has recently been remodeled, so it looks nice. They have various activities. There's a big general room with a library and a lot of tables where people can play games like Bridge.

Brookdale Paulin Creek was not that well kept, and it didn't have the same vibe as the other place. The apartments were OK. I mean, it was one bedroom. They were nice. They were OK. They had a library. They had a restaurant that we checked out. I didn't get to see any of the grounds because it's kind of all indoors. The library was actually pretty nice, and they had a big grand piano in there that was pretty nice. The restaurant was OK, so it was all right. The staff was totally unprepared and totally unprofessional. The woman that we were supposed to meet wasn't there, so they put in some helper that didn't really know anything. It was not the best, and it was actually more expensive than the other place, which I thought was funny. She showed us the room, and that was about it. She was completely unprepared for that. I don't think she even knew she was supposed to do it. We didn't really do a very good tour of that place. I didn't really get to see any activities. I would say that that place definitely needs some updating. I wasn't impressed with that place, especially for the price. The one shining star about Brookdale was their dining room was extremely nice, and they had nice menus. Actually, there were specials for every day or they could order something off the regular menu all the time. I was actually impressed with that.

Brookdale Paulin Creek is nice. I liked it a lot. Everyone I saw was great. I mean, really good people. The person who gave us the tour was great. I liked her a lot. Her name is Megan and she was very helpful and answered our questions. We got to go look at the rooms. One thing I liked about the room was they had a balcony, it's either a balcony or a patio, depending on which floor you're on. Mom would be able to have flowers and pots, which is nice. The other thing is they have their assisted living area separate, they have the main area for independence, and then they also have Alzheimer's and dementia care areas. It's kind of nice to have it all in that same place, depending on what stage she's at. They have four different courtyard areas, a couple of them are gardens and some of them were more like lawn sports. They have a swimming pool there too, which is great for some exercise. So I thought that was nice. They had movies, they had a really big dining room and they had a smaller dining room that was right where they have assisted care so that she wouldn't have to walk far to get to that. They do exercise classes, they have Bible studies and they have community tours where they take them out and about, and they have all kinds of ice cream soiree. They do chair exercise, things for stability, which is good. They take them on the bus and go on a scenic drive just to get them out. They have picnics and all types of things. Somebody was going to come in and do a history chat. I know they had an acrylic painting class, which I thought would be great for mom. They had a good variety of things. We met a resident, he told us he'd been there five years and he and his wife loved it. It was nice to have people telling us how great it was. So the other thing about Pauline Creek that I liked was that when we walked around, the gal that helped us, knew everybody we saw by their name. They all said hi to her. I like that she knew people and she knew the names of all the people that we ran across, which I thought was good. I thought that it was important to me that she knew who they were.

My mother is at Brookdale Paulin Creek. She's not happy with the community. First of all, they raise the rent automatically every year without providing anything new, and she's had a really hard time getting maintenance to fix things there. She's been there almost three years now, and several times she's had requests for repairs that just didn't get done. She still has one outstanding that she's been complaining about for over a year, and the food is not to her liking. But maybe it's because of the virus, I don't know. They're completely isolated. They've had people infected with the virus on a weekly basis there -- people who work there -- so they're in total isolation, and it's been pretty bad. The facility is all right, but the maintenance is very bad on the outside. The staff is wonderful; the secretaries and people like that are great, but their maintenance person is not so great. They have a high turnover rate. There is only TV for activities.

I was impressed with Brookdale Paulin Creek and I'm on their waiting list. The apartment I saw was very nice, but it was too far from the dining room, and the view in that particular apartment wasn't very good. Their amenities were very nice. We had lunch there twice and the food was very good.

Our tour at Brookdale Paulin Creek was nice, and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. But they have assisted living and memory care, which is a feature we didn't want at this time. It's also seemed very dark there, it's down near Coddingtown Mall, and to us it just didn't seem as light and nice as the other place we visited. But the people there were fine and the rooms seemed okay. We didn't see the pool but they told us that they have a pool there and there's a mini-golf course at the center of the community. We just didn't feel that that's the place for us. The dining room was kind of dark and enclosed, but the staff there was also nice. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful, nice, and I have nothing bad to say.

We went to Brookdale Paulin Creek. It is quite expensive, and too big for my mom. We weren't invited to eat there either. My mom wasn't as taken with it because they weren't friendly or organized. When we went on a tour, they had to put together a wheelchair, but they didn't have feet for it. My mom had to hold her feet up, so it was awkward for her. The rooms were bigger like suites, and there were activities. Some women were playing bridge, and there was a room with a computer and a snack bar. The staff members seemed competent, but they weren't super friendly.

We visited Brookdale Paulin Creek. They have a good location, which is close to a shopping mall. The dining area was very nice, but it was dark. It is a pretty big place and only has one elevator. In the apartment that was available to us, we would have had to walk two blocks to the elevator, two blocks back to the unit, and when we came back, we would have to do the same thing over again, so we did not like that.

At Brookdale Paulin Creek, everything is perfect, wonderful, friendly, helpful, and caring. My mother loves her room, the food, and the people. She loves everything about it. She is in the memory care section called Claire Bridge. It is excellent. They do exercises and gather people around the table to ask them questions pertaining to their lives. They have little gatherings just for dementia care people for the ones who are able to communicate. They go on bus tours once a week. I know my mother is always busy. If my brother calls in, she goes, "Oh I got to get going because we’re doing something now." So she is always very excited about what she’s going to do next. She seems to eat everything. The things that she used to not like, she is eating now. A couple of times, I’ve eaten there myself even though I don’t normally eat in restaurants because I have allergies, but the two or three times I’ve eaten there, it has been very good. The facility is clean. My mom considers the staff her friends. The care staff and all the workers keep getting better and better. They’re very caring people.

I went to Brookdale at Paulin Creek. I thought it was very nice place, but I did not like the location on the flatlands near a big shopping center. Aesthetically, I did not like it. The rooms were nice. It had a pool and everything. The people were very old, and I just did not like the area itself that much. Brookdale was very nice and lots of people would be happy there.

My overall experience with Brookdale Paulin Creek was good. The rooms seemed fine. It was a little depressing having to live in a place like that, it’s tough wherein they have to live with a bunch of folks that are going through similar things. I would say that the place is probably above average, a good B. We visited their dining area but we didn't taste the food but the people eating there said it was good. They were playing games while we were there, and looked like they’re having a good time. They have a game room, a ballroom type place where they play card games.

The really good thing about Brookdale Paulin Creek for my parents is that they have independent section, which my parents went into, but they also have assisted living and memory care. Even if you're in independent living, you can contract for some assistance. Brookdale Paulin Creek has what my parents needed. The staff seems fine. The sales people were very helpful. Everyone is helpful in general. My parents really enjoyed a history class that they went to. My mother thought that the exercise class that she went to today wasn't really enough exercise because it was too simple. My parents really haven't participated in many activities, but they just moved in at the end of August. Also, so far, the food has been great.

I visited Brookdale Paulin Creek (Formerly Lodge at Paulin Creek). The staff was very nice and very helpful. She showed me the biggest room, and it was very spacious, nice, and clean. They were very informative. We didn't go out on the grounds much because they were replacing the roofs that day -- it seemed like very nice grounds though.

Lodge at Paulin Creek was a large facility -- the size of a city block. They had friendly staff. The rooms were impeccable. We toured about four different kitchens, and four different social living areas and patios, and there was a little golf course. There was a barbecue area where they socialize, a library, and a little post office inside the facility. They had a van that transports them. The apartments were very clean -- that's what struck me the most -- and it was secure enough.

Lodge at Paulin Creek was a very nice place, very clean, and very bright. The staff were very pleasant and personable, and they gave me a nice tour. They had activities although they would not have been useful in my situation. When I went there, they had a choral group on CD that people were watching, and they have TV, but the room was about $7200; it was out of my price range, so I didn't go any further with them.

We visited the Lodge at Paulin Creek. The place was very nice. The rooms there were different. They were much more open and brighter. They were about the same size as the other facility, but residents didn't have the ability to cook in their rooms. Not that my mother does a lot of cooking, but she likes to boil a cup of tea, reheat her dinner in the microwave, or make herself a bowl of soup. We were offered a meal there and the food was very good. They did have activities. They had transportation to and from doctors' offices and shopping excursions, but I didn't see a lot of outside activities.

My old folks really like Lodge at Paulin Creek. The environment was fine, it was clean, no smell. The room was adequate, you provide your own furniture and you get your own improvements. It is a little expensive but they have three meals. They didn't have the level of transportation service that we're used to in Southern California in some of the independent living places but they were fine. It did not have a good support system when my father got sick, I had to call 911 from Southern California. They don't deal with any of that and that surprised me. They're basically a living hotel and that's all I characterize them. I'm not saying that's not what they're contracted to do but I was expecting more.

The Lodge at Paulin Creek is a pretty nice place. I visited this place for my wife because several senior care websites emailed me about it. I also knew about this facility because I had friends who had spent considerable time there. Their apartments are very nice depending on the size you want. I just looked at their regular one-bedroom apartments. With regards to the staff, I met with the manager and the people upfront in the main area and they were very easy to deal with. They have activities going on for their residents. I think there was a pianist in there at the time of my visit and there were quite a few people who were watching that performance. Food they serve looks very substantial.

When we looked for a place for both my parents, we visited Lodge at Paulin Creek. It was a beautiful area and the staff were wonderful. The manager who showed us around knew all the employees and there was a personal relationship between them. The atmosphere was light because everyone seemed happy.

This is an assisted living facility that's almost like a resort. It's just spectacular, high class. I know it well because I've referred a few clients there and attended monthly meetings there for a while. They have five different floor plans, ranging from a studio to a 2-bedroom apartment. There's even a swimming pool. The staff is well qualified, well trained, professional, and welcoming. They also have full services, from housekeeping to beauty and barber services. And there's both private dining in room or restaurant style meals in the dining room. The food is also excellent. I've had lunch there a few times, and it's always been good. Activities start around 9 or 10 in the morning and go until 7 or 8 at night. A lot of the activities happen in the water--aerobics, etc. But there are also knitting classes, gardening, cooking classes, and town hall meetings. It's in a remote location, but they do offer transportation services.
