"When evaluating memory care units for my mother in 2017, I was immediately impressed with Healdsburg Senior Living’s facilities and staff. Healdsburg Senior Living maintains a large portion of their property as a mini-farm with vegetable, herb, and flower gardens, chickens, and dwarf goats. The sensory experiences provided by the “farm” are integral to their approach to memory therapy, and the residents are encouraged to help with the gardening instead of sitting inside all day. Since Mom grew up on a farm, I knew this environment would be ideal for her. I continue to be impressed with the dedication of the staff to the well-being of the residents, from the music therapy programs to the thorough emergency procedures that have been so vital during the wildfires and COVID-19. When I meet families of other residents, a common comment is that we will move ourselves into Healdsburg Senior Living should we need assisted living in the future."

"Orchard Park was nice. The staff during the tour was really friendly and nice, gave me numerous options, and addressed a lot of my concerns. She's quite professional. They had a one-bedroom and a studio. They said they usually have a car show come by a couple of times a year. They had a game room, and they had a big dining area for everybody. They had a big court in between all the buildings for people to hang out and they do barbecues and stuff a lot according to them. None of it I witnessed, but that's what they told me. They had a beauty salon. I think the lady was in three days a week to do hair and stuff like that."

"Brookside Retirement Residence was great. They took me on a tour and showed me everything. Then the guy said, 'Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to ask you, what is your income?' So I told him, and he goes, 'I'm sorry sir, we can't accept you.' It was a very neat and clean place, and I was really impressed with it. I have no remorse or whatsoever on how they asked me. They treated me very well actually. They gave me a cup of coffee and asked if I wanted a donut. I was really impressed. They got a beautiful front yard. It's kinda offset from the street, so it's almost like being isolated around because all the homes are distance-wise from it. There's a place to walk around. It was very impressive. It was very well kept. I was disappointed that I wouldn't qualify for it. I wasn't there long enough to really see the internal workings of it, but from what I saw, I was very well satisfied with it."

"The Community here at Rancho de Calistoga is much like most with a very diverse group of people living in a neighborhood. Some are very active in the community and others keep to themselves or participate as much as they want to or not. There is a beautiful "Green" Recreation building with library, game room, large meeting/dinning room with modern kitchen for large gatherings. The pool and hot tub patio are very nice with a BBQ area as well. The exercise room has modern equipment and is available to all residents who choose to use it. There are independent groups created by residents that offer a multitude of activities. Also the local community offerings in the area are vast with cultural opportunities as well as wellness and lifestyle education. To top it off, it is located at the north end of the beautiful Napa Valley. With easy walking or golf cart ride to the historic downtown where restaurants, shopping and additional community activities are available such as those offered at the community art center as well as it is a great place to live. In short it is Rancho de Calistoga is quiet, clean and friendly with a moderate climate; a perfect place to live! "
