Orchard Park

We are in the process of moving my dad into Orchard Park. It looks like a hotel. It's beautiful. They have two sections. One is for assisted living, and the other part is for memory care, and that's where my dad is going. I was very pleased with it. The staff seemed to be very competent and caring. They have an activities director, and she has experience with keeping people busy. They came to the house and did an assessment so they could find out exactly what kind of care my dad needs, so I was very pleased with that. It's private pay. And the place is beautiful. One thing I really like about it is that it has this beautiful dining room. It's a small dining room with a beautiful table, and it's private. You can book it, have your relatives or friends come and eat with the resident, and they will prepare the meal or you can bring yours in. So that was really impressive. Also, they go on outings. I liked it. Their food smelled really good, and they told me they had prepared cod, chicken, and all this stuff. They have a cat that lives in the memory care. They have beautiful aquariums that were clean and perfect with different kinds of fish. They had activities. In the memory care garden, residents can walk in and out when they want to. It's completely safe, and it's fenced. The fencing is all covered with vines and things like that. There are plants, and it's spotless. The place was so clean. I really was impressed with the cleanliness.

Orchard Park was nice. The staff during the tour was really friendly and nice, gave me numerous options, and addressed a lot of my concerns. She's quite professional. They had a one-bedroom and a studio. They said they usually have a car show come by a couple of times a year. They had a game room, and they had a big dining area for everybody. They had a big court in between all the buildings for people to hang out and they do barbecues and stuff a lot according to them. None of it I witnessed, but that's what they told me. They had a beauty salon. I think the lady was in three days a week to do hair and stuff like that.

The staff were fantastic during my visit. They invited mom, and I for lunch together with the residents. Mom really enjoyed it. They were very positive, and they welcomed her. That made her very happy. You can bring in your own furniture into your room. I know one lady brought her own piano because it meant so much to her. For me, that was really great. The entire facility was very well done. In fact, all residents seemed to be very happy.
