"My father-in-law is in Rose Arbor Village's assisted living facility. It's been great, and they respond quickly to his calls. He's kind of difficult sometimes, but they handle him with care and grace. His room is simple but nice and accessible. The staff members communicate, and they're willing to work with us. They have movies, and they go on field trips or outings. It's nice because he wouldn't do that otherwise. The dining area is nice, too. We can go visit and eat there if we want and pay a small fee. I think the food was also good."

"My son and I toured Brookdale Vacaville Leisure Town. I enjoyed it. I liked the place and the rooms. They're much larger and I'm thinking of going there. There were outside activities that I could do. They showed me four different apartments, which were very good. The staff told us everything that we wanted to know and she was very thorough. We were very happy when we left. The facility was very clean. I would go there in a minute."

"My mom is at Campus Commons Senior Living. We choose it because it is clean and friendly, and they have good food. The apartment is really a nice size. They have lots of card games, movies, and external activities. They use the Wii and have Wii games. The grounds are beautiful. "

"The staff at Regency Place was excellent. It's very nice and immaculate. They had a pool and pretty much everything that I would be interested in, but the price was a little high. The food was excellent. The room was nice, but it was a little bit small for me, and there was a kitchen. The dining room was neat and clean. Everybody seemed to be having a good time. I met a couple who were very happy with it."

"I cannot say enough about the fabulous staff and amenities at Carlton Plaza. They have many activities to keep seniors busy and connected if they so desire. They also have a memory care unit when your loved one needs the next step in care. "

"For me, WellQuest of Elk Grove was perfect. I wanted a cottage and they do have cottages there. The cottages just opened a year ago, so they're new and I like that. They were friendly and they had a library, a fitness center, a beauty salon, activities room where you could play cards, a dining room, and a movie room. The first two levels of the main building are mainly different rooms for different activities. The food is excellent, too. They gave us a test to try the food and it was very good."

"Camden Springs had two buses, contests, exercise class and an elevator to take me upstairs. It was incredible. Each of the rooms had their own balcony or courtyard. The one they showed me was a very large one-bedroom, and I loved it. They had a brand-new refrigerator in the kitchen, and I liked it very much. "

"I was able to visit Golden Pond. It was a good facility but a little bit pricier. The reason why we did not go with that was because you could have alcohol anytime and that’s something that my parent could not be around. The staff was great. My experience was great. It offered studio to two-bedroom apartments with a whole kitchen in each room. I did not see activities, but I saw the calendar, which had card games, visitors, and visiting dogs. "

"It’s clean and real nice. My mother is taken care of as far as I can tell. They play games in the activity room: tossing the ball, physical activities, up and down chairs, singing, and dancing. Her room is just the right size. It’s a fairly good place. "

"Winding Commons had the same amenities, but they had a mentor program. If somebody is new, they will provide a mentor, like somebody who has been there for awhile, to help them get used to the place and get them acquainted with people. I thought that was cool because for people who move in, it is a new start. They're trying to make them feel part of the family there, so I thought that was nice. Otherwise, everything was the same as other communities. The place was beautiful and had an area where you can walk around outside, like a courtyard with a fountain, a walkway, and a bridge. "

"Bear Hollow Estates Gracious Retirement is a brand-new place. It's just a complete facility; it's got everything. The people working are professionals. The facility itself is very clean."

"Mom loved Summerset a lot. The staff was very friendly, very nice, and very professional. They treated us to lunch, and the food was really nice. They have a chef in the restaurant, and he served our food restaurant style with little garnishes and sauces. It’s very upscale -- but affordable -- and I was impressed. The people seemed to be very nice and very caring. The rooms were modern, and the colors, paint, and carpeting were all done in a very modern style. The floor plans were acceptable and big. "
