I placed my client into Eden Manor. It's a very small facility. It has a very family atmosphere and my client is very happy there. It's for anybody who wants to put their loved one into some place where there's a real sense of family. There are six or seven people there altogether, and they go to church together. He does not have any other family, he only has me and I'm not related, and I put him there so that he could have a real sense of belonging. He has a private room. They have a couple of double occupancies and a couple of privates. His room is right across the hall from the bathroom. There's family dining, a living room large enough for everyone to congregate, a back porch, and a fenced-in backyard. It's just a very nice place. They don't have an activity calendar. I basically just will take him out shopping or to the movies. There aren't any group activities except for going to church. The staff is wonderful. He is real happy with the food.

Eden Manor is a home situation. The place isn't great, but they gave my mother-in-law great care several years ago. It's not a really modern place. Everybody in there was in a stupor, just sitting at the table and my husband would not have done well there. I only met one lady there from when my mother-in-law was there and she was nice, but the girl who answered the phone was not super friendly or helpful.
