Rose Arbor Village

My father-in-law is in Rose Arbor Village's assisted living facility. It's been great, and they respond quickly to his calls. He's kind of difficult sometimes, but they handle him with care and grace. His room is simple but nice and accessible. The staff members communicate, and they're willing to work with us. They have movies, and they go on field trips or outings. It's nice because he wouldn't do that otherwise. The dining area is nice, too. We can go visit and eat there if we want and pay a small fee. I think the food was also good.

We toured Rose Arbor Village for my mother. It's about a mile from our house. So, the location was perfect for us as opposed to the other places we saw which were eight and 13 miles away from us. It isn't a huge drive but in an emergency, it's a long trip. The place is beautiful. It has a beautiful outdoor area for the patients. They have a center for arts and crafts, an area for movies, and an area with a piano for the patients to get involved in singing and playing if any of them play. So it was very nice. The single bedroom was a bedroom with a separate area for the bedroom and the dining table. It also has a refrigerator in the bedroom. The area was very nice. There are tons of activities, especially during the holidays. They've got all kinds of things for them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and sing-alongs. They had a crafts fair just recently. The staff is very helpful, too.

I toured here. You could have your own garage and a full kitchen. You could have guests spend the night with you. It's a two-bedroom. There were just several things that I preferred in terms of independent living there: I like that they have a farmer's market on the grounds at the weekends, so you have access to fresh food. It's in an area that's close to a lot of markets and things. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. They answered all our questions. They were very friendly. They introduced you to people as you walked around. They showed you the facilities and the things they had available.

We toured here. The location is what I liked the least, but that was the only thing. They have a salon, a reading room, a little entertainment room, and outside a get-together area. I found the size of their rooms and quarters to be excellent. It's new, so it kind of has all the bells and whistles. They were comparable size-wise to the other place I toured.
