Solstice Senior Living at Lodi was basic and nice, but they do not have assisted living. It was very pleasant, but they have a very strict eating arrangement where everybody eats at the same time. The apartments were nice. This place just didn't fit what I needed for my mom.

Great place to call home. Caring staff members. Very clean and friendly residents. Lots of activities. I love it here. Karen the Executive Director is great at keeping things in order. The rooms are very nice and kept clean. Love the music for Happy Hour and helps to get people to get together and have a good time.

Solstice Senior Living at Lodi was dated. When I expressed what I was looking for, it was very apparent that they did not offer what I was looking for. The rooms were also cramped. I saw the entryway and the common areas, which reminded me of a hotel rather than a community. Maintenance needed attention, too. They need larger facilities and more ability to handle extremely independent people. I still work full time and I'm in spectacular health, and the only thing I need is to clean my apartment once a week.

Solstice Senior Living at Lodi was nice. It was lovely and the friend I'm with really liked it, too. They had three meals a day with lots of options and changes. They're doing an update and remodeling, so things are getting freshened up. I liked it and there's lots of activity. Their calendar was full of at least 4 to 5 different activity options during the day, almost every day. I saw some ladies playing cards and everybody looked happy. The lady who gave the tour was very nice and informative. To me, it looked like a nice hotel with a big lobby area where the dining area was and some social areas downstairs. There was a walking path all around the property as well. It was very affordable and had a really good atmosphere and environment.

My mother-in-law is at Solstice Senior Living at Lodi and so far, they've been very helpful and trying to do their best to get her all acclimated to the new living. They are very good. They have a lot of activities on their calendar. The cafeteria and all that is very nice. They are undergoing a renovation right now, so they just have some workers there. They're redoing the painting, the carpet, and everything, but they're trying to keep that as minimal as possible. At night, they lock the double doors. So, it's a very safe place. The rent includes all three meals a day and the utilities. So, the rent she's paying seems pretty fair.

We have been delighted by the whole experience of working with Solstice Senior Living at Lodi. The staff there has been phenomenal from Karen, the chief executive, to Amanda in the marketing department, to all of the staff at every level like the maintenance people, the housekeeping people, the kitchen people, the front desk people, and the physical therapists. It's just been remarkable how welcome they have made my brother-in-law feel when he moved in. We're just completely thrilled with the whole experience. His room is perfect for him. He's in a wheelchair, and he needed a room without carpets. They had a room without carpets and very nice flooring, so it just fit him perfectly. He's handicapped, and he needed the handicapped restroom. The bathroom setup was easy to accommodate. The room has been great. We were there yesterday and looked at the schedule for the day, and it was so varied, so rich, and full of opportunities to play games. They were doing a cornhole competition when we left yesterday. They have a pool, a poker table, card table, and morning activities and exercises. There's just a whole variety of activities. The food is really very good. The menu is diverse. They also have the any day menu that you can order certain things if you don't want the the the meal for the day. There's other things you can order. They have table service. They literally come to the table, take the orders, and deliver the food. The food was very good; it's top-quality. It's a beautiful neighborhood. My brother-in-law has all sorts of places he can get to in his motorized wheelchair, so everything's been perfect.

I moved into Solstice Senior Living at Lodi. It's a very friendly place and has a friendly atmosphere. Their activity director tries to offer people things to keep them busy besides just sitting in their room watching TV. She's very helpful. They've been in the senior living business since about 1998. It's changed hands, but it's not a brand new company like some of the newer ones in town. They offer you the whole package. You don't have to pay extra for this and extra for that. I checked with one of the newer ones, and it's going to be $1000 more a month for the same space or less. They've got all sorts of activities. They do exercising and you've got a trainer and they can take your insurance if you need to get physical therapy. We have a bus service that takes people shopping and does all sorts of stuff. For Easter, they invite your family for a big buffet luncheon and they're going to have an Easter egg hunt, so grandmothers can watch their grandkids. I think the food has changed over time because when they first opened back in the early 2000s, they hired two top chefs in San Francisco and they had a lot of exotic food. With the cost of everything and the cost of food, they have gone back more to just meat and potatoes, fish and clam chowder, just basic things. We're meeting with the chef once a month, and there's a committee and they tell him what the people's complaints are and they try to take care of it. They could be a little bit more creative with their dessert. It's going to be nice because they're remodeling, but only as they sell the rooms are they remodeling. They have 118 apartments and we've got about 104 on, so that's moving along pretty quickly, but I think it's going to be real nice. They've got it painted, and they put in new window coverings in the individual rooms. They're going to have the physical therapy and pain management and a bunch of things that people in their 70s and 80s need. They do what they can to try to help if there are any discounts like if your husband or daughter was in the military, you can get some military discounts. I have a large studio and I have my two little dogs with me, so I have to pay $25 a dog, which is not bad. My total rent is around $2500 a month. Everything is paid for except you only get basic cable at that price. If you want up and beyond that, you got to pay for that.
