"I was very impressed with Oakmont of Brookside. I would have very much liked to have become a resident there, but their fees were just too high. No matter how I screwed around with my figures, I could not pay that kind of rent. The location is perfect. I have dialysis about a block and a half away, my pharmacy is about two blocks away, and shopping, restaurants or whatever are within a block. It's nice and clean. We were there on Grandparents' Day, so we were served with a lunch. We had a chance to test out the food, and it was very good. Excellent salad, then we had a cocktail, and oh my goodness! We've been talking about that cocktail ever since then. It was so good. They had some housekeeping, weekly laundry, and an excellent exercise room. The staff was marvelous, even in the dining room."

"My aunt moved into Byron Park and is having the best time! Every time we visit she's busy with her new friends, enjoying happy hours, live music and all the fun and interesting programs. She loves sitting in the garden and swimming in the pool. We love joining her for meals and activities and our kids and dog get so much love and attention from the staff. They treat her and our family so well and we always feel welcome when we visit. We can't recommend Byron Park enough!"

"The people were nice enough and the facilities were well taken care of. There weren't that many extra activities and most things required moving to the other facility. This is not possible for most residents. Also, every service was billed separately, so felt a little nickel and dimed. "

"My visit at Landmark Villa was really good. The rooms were very nice, everything looked great, and the management seemed really good. The staff seemed very caring and they had nice facilities. One really good thing about them is that they also have very reasonable pricing or cost, but for the money it's really good."

"My first impression of Lodi Commons Senior Living was very good. The grounds were very well kept. They were mowed, and the bushes were trimmed. The inside, the lobby, and the common areas were clean and well-kept. The apartment I looked at is move-in ready, clean, and well-kept. The staff members were very knowledgeable. They'd been there a long time and knew what they were doing. Some of the people I saw were playing a game that kind of looked like dominoes, although I don't think that's what it was, and then some ladies were playing a card game. All the people seem relatively happy and excited to be there."

"Marymount was very nice, the people were nice, and the food was good. The apartment was probably 6x6 in size. They have tai-chi and group meetings. The reason I chose Marymount is because they have independent and assisted living. "

"Cogir of Vallejo Hills Senior Living has both assisted living and independent living, but they don't have memory care. The appearance was very nice. The staff was very sweet. They have a nice restaurant. The only thing, in my situation, where the room that was available, you had to go down the hall, down an elevator, down another hall, so somebody who's confused would be hard to find the restaurant, but to a regular person, it'd be fine. They had a lot of games and activities, they had bingo, and they had movies. I saw a studio and it was very large and you can have a pet there. They provide three meals a day. From what I was told, their chefs are from the culinary school in Napa. The facility was nice."

"I visited. Allison, who was our host, was very accommodating and very nice. She gave us a lot of information regarding the process and policies of assisted living. The place itself was very accommodating. All the staff were friendly. The location itself was great. It's gated and it had the feel of a very safe environment. They showed us three different sizes of rooms. Similar to the other places, all seven days are booked with activities including exercise activities for the residents to take advantage of if they wanted to. They have a very nice library and it's very cozy. They also have a salon that they offer to the residents."

"Merrill Gardens at Brentwood is the brightest, cleanest, best-smelling, lightest, and friendliest place I visited. They have a really good activity list, and it's very full every day. They have several TV rooms, a workout room, a swimming pool, a card room, and a nice dining room. I saw a one-bedroom, a two-bedroom, and a studio, and all of them were very nice. They provide transportation. All the facilities have locked doors. They have combination locks that you have to use to get in and out. It's a very, very nice place."

"Trilogy at Vineyard is a little more expensive. My husband and I are both in our 60s and we were looking for ourselves. The problem is it's not accessible for anything. It's an absolutely gorgeous place. But when people are older, you need accessibility. "
