"Our tour at Atria Walnut Creek was great. We were greeted professionally. While they were waiting on our appointment individual, they made sure we were comfortable and tended to any needs we might have had. The sales director/marketing director came out and talked to us. We went into her office, we talked for a while, explained the situation, and reviewed our options. She took us on a tour and we saw great staff interaction with the residents. Something is going on to keep the residents engaged. The grounds and facilities were superb. It's one of the only two so far we've visited that we would consider putting my mother in. The dining area was clean as well. They were serving lunch, the food looked good, cooked, and it looked like a well-balanced meal."

"Walnut Creek Care Home seemed nice. The staff was nice, too. My sister will have her own room with a wall and a sliding door to the outside. It's small, but it's a nice room and they allow cats. They only have six beds, so they don't have a lot of activities. Cleanliness seemed OK."

"I'm moving into The Heritage Downtown. I love the facility. It's located in a residential community and has been there for a long time. The apartments are very nice. There are large trees and a beautiful garden. They have a pool, a library, and a gym. They have trainers. They have water aerobics. They have everything as well as three meals a day if you choose. The menu is a little limited."

"I thought Byron Park was also an excellent facility, and I thought the staff was very good. "

"Mom lived in Oakmont, but she passed away last week. We're very, very happy with Montecito. One of her friends was already living there. They're very, very cordial, very caring, and got to know the residents. We chose the facility because of the proximity to where we lived. It's beautiful, has wonderful food and caring staff, and is just top-notch all around, we felt. They offered different kinds of rooms, from independent to assisted to memory care, so we liked the fact that there were options. She could move as she needed, which she did wind up doing. We thought the rooms were lovely -- simple, but big enough. We only have good things to say. "

"Atria Valley View is a lovely facility! My husband and I both loved the feel of the place--elegant but warm. One of the things we were looking for was a place with residents who seemed alert, and Atria Valley View fit that bill. It was a little out of our price range, but if it had not been we would definitely have considered it as a place for my husband's mom. "

"Belmont Village Albany was great and looked like a five-star hotel. The dining area was very nice. The person during the tour was very helpful. They had activities all day long. They could go to different areas, and if somebody wanted to come down, they had dining that they could do with family. The facility was very clean, very bright, and very open."

"My mom will be moving in. It's near, and they have some activities she might enjoy. It's a nice size room, and the upkeep is good. They have a movie theater, a gym, and a church where she could attend services. Also, they have a dining facility and a room where they can socialize."

"We toured Cogir of Vallejo Hills. They have a very friendly staff and all the staff I saw were very happy to help. The two rooms we looked at were both very nice. One was in the process of being repainted. They had fairly nice layouts, and were of good size. Considering that there were so many things to do outside of the apartment, it didn't feel that small. We weren't sure how we were going to handle the hotplate and refrigerator. It seems like I'm going to have to get rid of most of my kitchen equipment. We stayed for lunch and the food was very good. I thought a couple of things could have used more salt, but that's probably a dietary thing that they observe. They showed us the salon that my wife will be able to use to get her hair done, manicures and pedicures, and things like that. I don't know if there was an exercise room. We noticed that they have a chapel where a priest comes in and does mass regularly. It seemed like they would fix something on demand at times when it comes to food. I saw a few exterior spots where it looks like they need maintenance like some deteriorating lumber outside. I don't know how hard they keep track of that."

"I was here for five months. It was nice. It was close to my family and close to my medical providers because I had to have radiation treatment every day for a month. They took me and they had good transportation. The meals and the food were good. We had a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits, which I liked. They didn't have much outdoor space. They were kind of in an urban area. The staff was good. There was little turnover among the care providers because I was independent and I wasn't having any medications. I needed to be pushed down to the meals. I was in a wheelchair at that point because I couldn't walk very far because of my shortness of breath. They were very attentive to that and got me to my doctor's appointments. I didn't have the medical needs that they provided me. The activities were good. They have yoga and tai chi, the usual bingo, and they would take you out for walks around the block. I like the diversity and that was a plus."

"It is lovely. They have great amenities, and they have a good program for the residents with many things to do. It's beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Everyone I've met there so far was very friendly, even as I observed other guests interacting with staff. They have different levels of care. The studio was small, but it's quite adequate. It has a mini kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. It has its own private bathroom, and it's really lovely. They have a variety of rooms. They have one-bedroom units and places for couples. They have weekly activities, a game room, a movie room, a sauna, an exercise room, a pool, and a beautiful inner courtyard. They do weekly outings, and they will take you to your doctor. Everyone eats in the dining room and it's lovely. They seem to have something going on all the time. They put them on a bus and take them around. They play bingo and other things. They have a chef and it's restaurant-style dining."

"I have visited Marymount Villa, and this is definitely where my mother-in-law is in. It is very small. She is on the psychiatric floor, so she needs very special attention. The care seems to be fine. They all knew her. I think the food is excellent. I was impressed with it. "
