My mother lived at The Point for the past 3 years and was cared for by such incredible staff who were amazingly patient, kind, and helpful in meeting her daily needs. I couldn’t be more grateful for the time they gave my mother especially during the last months of her life. I especially want to mention a few very wonderful staff who were attentive, responsive and reliable- Nazmeen, Care Coordinator, Andre, Maintenance Manager, and Denise, front desk does-it-all problem solver master communicator. Thank you on behalf of my mom, myself and my family for your gift of caring.

I toured The Point at Rockridge. The staff was accommodating. They have a calendar of events. They have a few activities. They had a beautiful bar. There was a nice view outside. It was an upper place where you could kind of just relax and have a drink. That was very nice and they showed me the other rooms. The food was excellent. We had lunch with them.

I toured The Point at Rockridge. The room was spacious and had good large windows, so it was well-lit. It had its own bathroom that was appropriately done. It had very adequate space for the storage of clothing. The room itself was not bad; it had a good feel. The large windows made it more welcoming and it was a spacious room. There would be plenty of room for a dresser, a bed, side tables, a small table, and a large chair that would easily fit in the room. I thought it was quite generous and welcoming. The staff who toured me was very informative and took the time. And this was a walk-in. We didn't even have an appointment. Everybody that we met was gracious and nice and seemed tuned to what was going on. I feel quite confident that it would be a place where my mother could be comfortable and would find a lot of the services that would be helpful for her to be safe in a friendly environment. The other thing is that, if memory care was not necessarily where my mother wanted to be, but assisted living, that seemed to be an open possibility. They seemed to have some fair flexibility. Another thing is that the staff that was doing the tour with us, ran the place, and she got into it because she had parents who had Alzheimer's that she was a personal caregiver for until they died. She went back to college to get a degree so that she could be helpful to people who were going through what she had gone through handling and dealing with parents with dementia. So I think it gave her a particular insight and competency for the position. I think that helps the entire ethos of the place.

I met with a very nice woman at The Point at Rockridge and she gave me a lovely tour which started with lunch. She said, "Come on over for lunch." It's a delicious free lunch in this large, sunny restaurant for everybody. She's a director there. I asked her how many residents they had, because on their website it said 186, and she said, "Oh, no. 143." So it's smaller than I thought and spacious. I saw a couple of studios that were simple, not large, but maybe ample for one person without much need to cook in the room or entertain in the room, or mainly you would have your activities outside of the room, but it was exceedingly clean and well-organized with modern appliances, a nice refrigerator and beautiful fixtures in the bathroom and light fixtures. When it comes to the overall rating of the facility, inside was a five rating, but outside, it's on a very busy corner with a very busy street that has two lanes going in each direction. Across the street, there's a big mall and restaurants and so for me, I did not get the sense that I could go outside and easily have a walk around the neighborhood. The people knew the director and she was kind to people and conversational and was just wonderful. The lunch we had was better than average. The facility was a big high rise so it's boring and square with elevators, but it was wonderfully maintained inside with ample space for the areas and very clean, and kind of refurbished with good rugs and recently painted. They had studios and one bedroom. Again, there are elevators going up and down to the sixth floor. All of the apartments have balconies. Some of the balconies look out on the street side, but a lot of them have balconies that look out on the courtyard side. There's a lovely courtyard down below. It's big where they have events, music, and barbecue. It was very nicely designed as a structure. There isn't a lot of planting outside, but what they have is very nice. The residents got together and were unhappy with the vegetation so they took over maintaining the gardens. So, there's a great deal of pride in the plantings by the residents.

I had mixed feelings about The Point at Rockridge. The rooms were a little small coming from a three-bedroom condo for my sister. And that was her comment, "The rooms were a little small." She liked that they had two bathrooms, one for the guest. She liked that it was a very bright place. The halls were well-lit. They seemed to have a lot of activities. The residents that we saw all looked like they were happy. The people we met along the way in the halls and in the elevator were very friendly. So, the residents overall were very content with where they were. I would live there.

We chose The Point at Rockridge for my husband because it is very close to our home. I haven't been to many other facilities. From our point of view, this facility is pretty good. It's very clean. My husband's room is a decent size, and it has a kitchenette. There is a decent size bathroom and a balcony. It's very convenient. Everything is provided. It has its own air-conditioning. They have a nice sized library, and it's very well presented. It has a sofa, and it's very comfortable and quiet. They have a lounge on the top floor, and you can see the Golden Gate Bridge or the bay. It's very nice, and it's always open. You can go there any time. It's quiet and clean. They have an exercise room with the machines there, and you can go and use it any time. They provide laundry services once a week. If you have more laundry, you can do it yourself. They have two or three laundry rooms throughout the building, and they're very convenient located. They provide three meals that are all served and are warm. Their food is fresh and the kitchen staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a dining room. They have multipurpose rooms, and they provide all types of activities in that room. They have a backyard garden. It's beautiful, and you can go there any time you want to. Regarding the staff, 95% of them are good, responsive, and friendly. We did meet one staff who was not friendly. They do not have that many activities, but definitely more than enough for my husband. They have a movie theater. Everything is provided. It's like a cruise ship. I really liked it. They have nice big seating rooms on every floor. They have a lounge and an exercise room.

I liked that The Point at Rockridge had physical therapy onsite. The building itself was kind of old, however, they had more activities (each floor had its own activity room) and they had a bigger space for the residents to do activities. They also take the residents outside. This month, they're planning to take them to go see the hot air balloon. They provide you with a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. They quite maintained the building nicely. The lady that took me around was very nice, very informative and she's very open to all our questions. She did great.

The Point at Rockridge had a lot more staff than the other places we went to. The apartment was nice and they had very nice balconies. They also have tons of activities. They have art classes, outings to various places, TED talks, movies, game days, a happy hour every day (which I think was cool), and just so many things. They have a nice patio and a little bistro with a coffee bar, fresh fruits, and really good cookies.

I did a tour of The Point at Rockridge. For us personally, it's in a convenient location so that all of her family can come visit because it's centrally located. No one has to travel far because it's not an inconvenience. They can just go and see her. We really like the way that the place looked. The staff seemed very nice, energetic, and not tired of their job, which I know can be very tiresome. They all were in like great spirits like this is what they chose to do, and they love what they do. It really shows. I didn't get a chance to taste any of the food because of COVID. They only give it to just the seniors right now. It did look appetizing. I did come during lunchtime. They have senior living, which is separate from the memory care. She'll mainly be in the memory care, so that is what I focused on. It's a different floor and a whole different staff; everything's different from the senior facility.

The environment at the Point is very nice, like a nice hotel. Rooms are pleasant and all have a balcony. The food is just OK, frequently overcooked, under seasoned, altho' the menus are impressive. Caregivers are good for the most part. Too much miscommunication among staff, not always informed, ask 3 people, get 3 different answers. Big promises made, not always kept, mgmt is very good at marketing and PR, but not always readily responsive to family concerns. Lots of activities, great gym, exercise class daily M-F.

Who's writing this review? l'm a 76-year-old man , a retired editor, who uses a wheelchair as his substitute SUV. Covid, sadly, put communal life at The Point into lockdown for a year, suspending most of the activities that make this place such a delightful home in normal times. Now that life is beginning to reawaken, we have a lot to look forward to, especially the many activities designed to keep us fit, active, entertained, and involved with each other. My regular favorites have included "brain games," drumming/singing sessions, and a writing group that l hope will return. There's much else: outings to shows, gentle exercise groups, movies in our mini-theater . . . For relaxation outdoors and a top-up of vitamin D on sunny days, we have a charming patio. I'm told that Happy Hour is . . . happy, but l spend that time of day sipping Crystal Geyser in private! l was very taken with the look of the facility on my first visit. As l walked in, a side glimpse of residents taking their lunch in the dining room gave me the unexpected feeling that l was in a four-star hotel. Touring the rest of the building confirmed that impression: all the design elements were in excellent taste, there were amenities of all kinds, from a gym to a library, and upkeep was immaculate. l was shown a few apartments. One-bedrooms would have overstretched my budget, but studios were within my reach, and when l eventually moved in a few months later, it was into a spacious one on the top (sixth) floor, with an expansive view of the sky and, in the distance, the Marin Headlands. l consider myself lucky to have this apartment, but it can't be that superior to others in the building because l haven't met anyone who was downbeat about theirs. Catering became a bit of a challenge when Covid made supplies less dependable, but our cuisine has now returned to its former, enviable standard, i.e., meals are delicious, varied, and served with grace. ls there anything about our food that l'd like to tweak? Yes. l would give greater honor to the vegetable kingdom. Not that l'm a vegetarian, and not that any vegetarian would go hungry here, but l think veggies have more to give us than our menus acknowledge. l'm grateful each day for the conscientious, loving teams that support our lives: caregivers, medical technicians, meal servers, chef's crew, program leaders, maintenance staff, administrators . . . l'm more than satisfied at the Point. l enjoy the abundance of services the community has to offer. l like and love the people of all kinds with whom l share a home. l appreciate the freedom to set my own degree of privacy. And l feel secure in the care of a warm, responsive staff under the guidance of enlightened management. So, would l recommend The Point? You get three guesses!

I really like The Point at Rockridge. The staff was amazing and the place was amazing. However, it was not a convenient location for the family. That was the only reason, otherwise, we probably would have chosen it. They have a chef who has been there for nine years. He gets up every morning, goes down to the produce mart to buy fresh produce and fresh fish. The dining room looked like a restaurant. I was just amazed by the place. They had a lot of activities. The most impressive thing about The Point at Rockridge that stood to me was the fact that, for your birthday, they give you a whole wall for the history of the patient. From the time the patient was young to the time the patient was old, there were pictures of his/her life and little notes about his/her life. The staff was very nice. She called me several times. They knew my mom's condition so they really reached out and they pointed out to us that they would do everything they could to make her happy again. That really stood out to me and I was amazed.

The Point at Rockridge is where we are focused right now because they have open rooms. The rooms are nice and 360 square feet. We are trying to move forward with that. Overall, the community was good, but there was a miscommunication with the sales department that we had to work through. The amenities are standard. They have a hair salon, and they have a van that takes the people out. It is a very nice place.

The Point at Rockridge is very well laid out, and people are very friendly. It will allow my husband to function at his highest ability. I was really impressed with the staff. My husband will move into memory care.

The Point at Rockridge was nice but to me, the people didn't seem happy so I didn't get a good feel. The food wasn't that good. The person who toured me around was very nice, and the view from the window was very nice, but when I looked across the courtyard, I can see a man who was in a hospital bed, and that didn't make me feel very good about the place. I also didn't see anybody doing anything. They were just eating. But they had a very nice and beautiful library, and I saw people in there and they had some really great books and they were doing some memory games which I guess would be good for some people. For me, that was the best thing about the place.

I liked The Point at Rockridge the best. It's a wonderful place. I knew people who lived there, which was why I went there. They have the memory care facility that cost over $6,000 a month, but my husband would have to share a room. The people that I met were wonderful. The rooms/apartments were excellent and had just about everything, but my husband would not have been able to avail himself of any of that because his comprehension now has deteriorated. They have art work and music and a lot of things going on. For those who can get around, they have trips to concerts and music performances. You name it, they have it. For somebody who wanted assisted living or senior living, this was a perfect place.

The Point at Rockridge is a very good place, just a little expensive, but my sister-in-law gets excellent care. It is very clean. They all seem to know her by name and keep in touch with us. They have lots of good activities. The food choices and quality are very good.

The food was really good, and the waiters were very friendly and receptive. You just put your hand up and they come and get you anything you want if they can. They were receptive to modifying the menu. My sister never had trouble saying she doesn't want the entrée, and she could order off a special menu right there at the table, so it was never a problem. The Point was good, but the downside was the rooms were small, and she lived in a single room. The decorations and the facility were very nice, and the staff was very nice. It was just a more comfortable place, but you pay for that.

I liked the location of The Point at Rockridge. The people were very nice. I think the rooms were comfortable and nice as well. They had activities to keep the residents active. The grounds were clean. The assisted living facility was homier than the memory care. I felt the memory care could be a little more updated. This place had a feeling of togetherness.

I chose The Point because it is in my neighborhood. I like that we have activities daily especially the exercise activities. We have trips out which I appreciate very much. I have my car and usually drive myself, but I can also get transportation with them while I was there. That place has long had a reputation for friendly staff. The staff at The Point is still warm and friendly, so they carry on their tradition. The food is average and could be improved.

The Point at Rockridge is pretty good. As for the facility it is a little big. The price seemed reasonable, and they are one of the few that actually help you out on their income, so that is good. The people seemed good too.

We found The Point at Rock Ridge for my husband, and it is a nice place; I like it. There is no smell, and the rooms are beautiful and clean. The food is good. They communicate with me right away if something happens, but sometimes they are not very attentive, and that needs to be improved.

I moved in to Monarch Place 4 days ago. Even though I've only been staying in Monarch Place for 4 days, I must say the staff are all very nice. The facility is clean and well maintained. So far they've been treating me very well. I'm actually staying in a studio type room. I just moved out of my house and it seem a little small but I'm getting used to it. I don't know if I'm happier with the place. I have Parkinson's disease and I'm much rather be out living on my own. We're still trying to figure things out.
